With the coming of spring comes a lot of things. The start of the harvest, the final snows melted after a long winter. Children now being able to play outside or work in the fields. However for this one family there exists a sacred duty.
A little girl, no older than five years old. Knelt on the ground, blood on her clothes as a...creature... loomed over her like an executioners axe. The creature spoke.
"Allow me in, child. I will make your dreams come true." The creature with a thirst for blood spoke.
See the child has hated that her parents pay more attention to a tree than their own daughter, so she gave in. Allowing the creature onto the sacred property. Alas, it ended in a second. The Child brutally murdered after the creature killed her.
This creature was on a mission however, a mission from it's master. To release a sacred and ancient calamity from it's prison. The creature rushed into the sacred temple, slaughtering everything moving in sight. With claws sharper than whetted steel, and moved as if it's life was on the line.
As the moon reached it's apex, the entire temple was slaughtered. Blood soaking the floors and splattered the walls. It's mission complete, as it retreated. However something was amiss.
The moving of branches and cracking of bark echoed through the temple. Before a splash of blood flew from the creature's chest. Poking out of it's abdomen was a branch of wisteria wood. The creature gargled and tried to move, however the branches spread across it's entire body and quickly enveloped the struggling creature, it's blood seeping into the branches and flowing into a tree in the center of the sacred temple.
The cracking of wood intensified as whatever was inside the tree was revitalized from the creature's blood.
The snapping of bark echoed through the temple. Mist pouring through the compound as various flowers and fruits started forming from the wood in the building, tree, and outside on the surrounding area.
From inside the tree a petite figure stepped forward, exhaling a cool mist. Two horns on top her head, curling like branches. Her hair long and reached down to her knees, with hair also curling and dangling around her horns. Adorned in a pastel pomegranate kimono, and a long soft green cloak of sorts resting on her back and sides. Black nails that were a good two and a half inches long, and green eyes, with the kanji 永 , meaning ei which means eternal in her left eye, and the kanji 然 , meaning zen or nature in her right eye.
She slowly looked around, glancing at the wisteria wood covering the demon that 'freed' her. Her eyes roaming over the dead corpses of her captors.
Her left hand slowly raised, and with it nature responded. The bodies of the deceased were covered in beds of flowers, absorbing the blood and giving nourishment to the Ancient Calamity.
Her arm lowered as she slowly walked out of the sacred temple and into Japan..
