THE HALLS WERE SILENT as Tobias made his way to his father’s bedroom. No one was home, except for the watchers lurking in the shadows. Tobias took a deep breath when he reached the room. Grabbing the doorknob, he pushed the door, a gust of wind welcoming him as soon as he opened it.
Tobias went inside and closed the door in silence. No one was there since Adam hasn’t come back from the company, but his absence was exactly what he needed as of the moment.
He walked towards the large window in the middle of the room. The sun was setting; it was the perfect view that was enough for Tobias to feel warm and comforted. The sunlight directly hit his face, so he closed his eyes and let it touch him. It felt like the sun was assuring him that things would be alright.
As the room continued with its silence, someone suddenly knocked on the door. Tobias wasn’t even surprised. He didn’t say anything as the door opened behind him.
“Master Tobias,” the voice called out.
