48 SPECIAL CHAPTER 7: RING THE BELL

CYRUS SHOT HIS EYES wide open as beads of sweat raced down his forehead. He looked around the familiar yet unfamiliar bedroom. He wasn’t in their new house; he was in his lover’s apartment. He looked beside him and saw an empty spot. Elliot wasn’t there.

“Why that dream again?” Cyrus asked himself as he massaged his aching temple. He tried to ease his breathing, closing his eyes as he did. Ever since they left the Delton mansion, Cyrus had been having dreams about their past. He dreamt about the time they were trained and punished, all unpleasant memories that he wished would just go away.

And that darn bell. That bell that kept ringing in his ear even when nothing was heard. In the past, as soon as the sun sets, Cyrus would hear the low bell that echoed in the halls of their old mansion. Until now the taunting sound haunted him.
