Lireesa closed her eyes, seemingly swaying her body to the musical beat. It was slow and sensational. Everyone went quiet and silence except for the music prevailed.
With a large number of people in, everybody quietening down was amazing to Lireesa. She already guessed there were going to be some shows in the tavern. Because Alleria and Lireesa wasn't the usual customer here, they were expecting the next performance.
Apart from the stage area, everything went dark. A lucent beam shone where all eyes lay. On the stage, a vertical pole with a firm foundation was placed. Lireesa was in a bit of shock since she somehow recalled a weird familiar feeling.
Although puzzled in her heart, she concentrated on the music and waited. Her mood didn't change due to the obvious similarities with her previous life. Magic made everything possible.
Amid the rhythm, an elf woman walked on the stage, her feet appeared first under the stage lighting. Her high heels clanged on the wooden plank. From her foot to the calf, the white silky skin entered her sight.
Upward to her firm thigh and inner thigh raised Lireesa's interest as she sipped her drink. Beside her, Alleria was agape watching the woman on stage showing off her body. She was at the center of all the attention since the music began.
The dancer wore completely red. Her dress displayed nearly all of her naked skin, if not for covering important parts. Wearing a panty underneath covered by a transparent long skirt with a slit starting from the thigh, her upper body was merely covered by a short corset only covering the breast.
Her elegant clavicles and shoulder were exposed along with her strong abdomen and thin waist. The alluring green eyes enthralled the entire audience, including Lireesa. Her golden hair fell like a waterfall and became turbulent as she danced around, rotating her body. All wavy hands movement and sturdy feet pivoting.
The dance was marvelous and entertaining to watch as she twirled around the stage until her hand suddenly grabbed a pole and the music changed. From a slow soothing sense to a rapid rocky motion, Lireesa's eyes brightened.
Now she knew why she felt familiar, it was the famous pole dance. She couldn't bear to take her sight away as all her attention was on the dancer. With long legs hugging the pole, the dancer swayed.
Sometimes she accomplished various enchanting poses and teased the audience. Difficult methods were included as well albeit many didn't notice it because most attention was on her. Twirling around and rocking the poles, it never ceased to amaze anyone. At last, she hung on the pole, using her sturdy strength, she completed the dance in the air and ended the show.
Bowing her head several times, she left the stage. Lireesa still hadn't extradited herself out. Her heart ripened until she felt someone pushing her shoulder.
Lireesa looked over and saw her daughter with a helpless face. Alleria's eye seemed to blame her and Lireesa's eyes drifted in the other direction in a guilty conscience.
Alleria patted her forehead and drank her cup. "Mom, Image! Image! Luckily there isn't anyone who is aware of you…You were drooling so much that your saliva even wetted the table."
Lireesa was stunned; her hands wiped out the corners of her mouth and she looked underneath. There was nothing. She glared at her daughter and showed her fierce expression.
Alleria rolled her eyes at her and asked mysteriously. "Mom, is the dance really good? I mean you were too deep during that time. Though the dance was beautiful, I felt very little in my heart. Why?"
Lireesa continued her drink, ignoring the chatter. Hmph, she wasn't going to speak with someone who dared to embarrass her. Despite knowing her majesty was gone, Lireesa still sulked and decided to drink more.
The wine or beverage here was too weak. It's as if water was poured and mixed together blending the taste she wanted out of an equation. While Lireesa was drinking, Alleria continued her question as if she wasn't ending until she received an answer.
Lireesa simply couldn't pretend any longer and answered. "Yes! Superb dancing technique and my eyes couldn't remove from her. Satisfied?"
This time, Alleria stopped. Her forehead was stretched to the limit. How was her mother too perfunctory? At the same time, she felt sympathetic toward her Aunt Sena, who had a long way to go.
With her mother growing interest in more beauties, Alleria wondered if Sena could indeed accomplish what she desired. She worried Lireesa would break Sena's heart and decided to no longer trouble her aunt. It was better for someone she recognized than a stranger.
Really, this was the first time Alleria saw Lireesa's image out of the norm to the point she drooled. Of course, whatever her mother wanted, she didn't care too much. But after being with Sena together for a long time, she hoped Sena achieved what she always wanted.
Frankly, the elves put seriousness in their sacred vow. Once they got married, the culture suggested two soul mates should treat each other solemnly with love and responsibility. Before these vows, no one cared how someone played around or messed around. The elves were open to these views and were not constricted too much.
Now Lireesa was a widow; in Alleria's view, it really didn't matter for her mother to search for another even if it was the same gender. Homosexuality wasn't strange in Quel'Thalas because Alleria even saw a couple among the Windrunners.
However, when it applied to Lireesa, Alleria's eyes turned strange. Her mother married her father; so, it was normal but now her interest was in the same gender. Alleria never expected Lireesa to be a bi and her expression complained as if she found out—so you were such a mother.
Unaware her daughter's thoughts were going on a crooked path, Lireesa watched the rest of the performances. None matched the atmosphere of pole dancing. She got bored until a charming voice rang beside her.
"Can I sit here for a moment?"
Lireesa saw who was speaking. It was the same dancer, now in completely different attire but in a red tulle. She stood in front and waited for her permission.
Lireesa felt strange as the woman's eyes were nearly begging and nodded generously, gesturing the female elf to sit. On the side, Alleria's eye widened. Her disbelief came from how her mother hooked someone so quickly.
"Please," Lireesa's voice was gentle. For any girl as long as they didn't offend her too much or hurt her daughters, Lireesa could tolerate their actions. "Is there something I can help you with?"
As she sat down and mouthed thanks, hearing Lireesa's inquiry, she quickly nodded. "I'm in trouble at the moment and needed a huge amount of support at this moment. I know it's all sudden but..but…"
Lireesa was stunned; some stranger came in and asked for money from her. Although she had heard many times people giving away money easily, the woman in front wouldn't be satisfied with a mere low sum because Lireesa believed she earned a lot from the tavern. But she couldn't bear to drive her away after seeing her eyes.
Lireesa might be young if only counting her previous life but after memory fusion, her experience exploded exponentially. She could already see through this woman. If not for her acting perfectly, she was in need of real huge support.
"Okay…Let me listen first to what help I can provide and I'll decide what to do next," Lireesa stared at the woman and solemnly stated. Her gaze back and forth between the two, Alleria was speechless as she thought the dance was here to hook her mother away. Now she was worried whether their family's finance would be cheated.
The dancer breathed several times deeply and introduced herself. "Milady, my name is Kilnar Goldensword and I'm a civilian. The reason I have a surname was because my profession is a mage."
"I can see from far away the air around your ladyship is very distinct compared to other nobles and my instinct told me you could help me out. My current mage level is level 7 early stage and if I wanted to upgrade myself, I needed a huge background."
Although Lireesa felt familiar with her surnames and believed the woman must be one of the important characters, Lireesa had to interrupt. "Why do you think I should help you with your cultivation? If you were in dire need, I might provide some support but this…"
Kilnar Goldensword was anxious when she saw Lireesa shaking her head at her. "Milady, forgive my impoliteness, but it's more than just money here. Milady might not know for us civilians, how difficult it was to gain more strength without enough background."
"For us with the kingdom's support, the maximum level we could attain was Mid-level peak. And to gain more, you had to serve under the noble or the royal family for life. It's not a problem to work for them but being hassled around by them, without for sure whether they could let us reach the height we dream of was another."
Lireesa knew there was a gap between nobles and civilians and the hierarchies never disappeared. One way or the other they always formed a pyramid structure. Once during the times of the Golden Age ruled by Queen Azshara, a big gap loomed over and threatened to collapse the whole empire. Even without the demon's invasion, someday the unrest would still occur.
Hearing Kilnar Goldensword describe the civilian's struggle and life was a mindblower for Lireesa too. But she wasn't the type to get easily persuaded. Before she was about to ask why not join the noble, Kilnar's explanation cleared her doubt.
No nobles desired their vassals to become more powerful than them. They would surely suffer suppression and all the allegiance was for nothing. Maybe not all nobles behaved in such a way but resource distribution wouldn't be allocated according to their merits. Instead depending on the mood of their master, would they receive reward.
At the same time, secrets hidden for the promotion toward quasi-legend or Legends would never be shown toward them, especially civilians, unless their talents were so high and were prone to be competed and sought heavily after. For Kilnar, whose talent wasn't so high but her highest achievement was way higher, it appeared useless to swear allegiance.
"Why do you choose me then?" Lireesa asked.
"When I was dancing, there was a very sharp gaze which attracted my attention. I discovered it was you and got interested. When I wanted to just converse, my feeling in front of you was like a little child, which meant your arcane proficiency was higher than mine and likely to be an archmage. So, I thought it was fate to meet and my guts told me to ask for help from you."
Lireesa was embarrassed that she wanted to burrow her face in some holes while Alleria laughed, patting her knees exaggerating the atmosphere. After giving a short gaze at Alleria and ignoring her daughter, Lireesa rubbed her chin and put away her shame.
She wasn't going to admit she salivated for Kilnar's sexy dance and changed the topic. "Is that the only reason why you chose me? What if I say no?"
Kilnar's face dimmed and her long straight ears drooped a little but her voice despite some sadness remained steady. "I'll travel around the continent which was also my secondary dream apart from becoming an archmage and search for an opportunity. The world is huge and perhaps luck will be by my side. Who knows I might find my way?"
Lireesa was uncomfortable watching her expression but she cleared her throat. "You don't need to travel. You don't need to swear allegiance to me at the moment. I'm staying at the hotel. Come to my room tomorrow night and I'll give you a book related to arcane sorcery."
"Really!" Kilnar became excited, her face near Lireesa's as her hand prodded on the table. Lireesa smiled understandably and nodded.
It wasn't only because Kilnar's personality managed to attract her. Lireesa realized who was Kilnar after she heard about traveling around. Maybe many Warcraft players wouldn't know who she was but Lireesa who read the lore knew.
Kilnar was related to one of Lireesa's favorite characters rarely mentioned in the game. If she traveled around as she had planned to, Lireesa was sure the girl in front of her was one of the future strong sorceresses.
