*ding helper system activated.* Turner heard in his head

*Welcome host. Your mission is to protect as many of MCs friends as you can while they go on the journey to save the world.*

"huh? What happened? Is this a dream?" Turner said loudly.

The people around him smirked and jeered at him. "country bumpkin" ….."must have consumed alcohol before coming here"….. But Turner was not able to hear any of that. His full focus was on the voice in his head.

It'll have a point storing system .

Turner thought about it. Talents ,eh?

All the people in this world had talents. As the person grew he would start gaining talents. The interesting part was that the person who gained the talent instinctively understood what his talent could do.

As to how exactly people gained them, there was no clarity on it. Some people gained due to life threatening events, moments of stress or anger while other while sleeping. It was completely random. Furthermore these talents were not static and even these could grow and that too was completely random. However studies conducted did show that gaining or evolving talents was definitely affected by the person's mindset and emotions.

Only humans had talents and not monsters. The general believed theory was that because monsters had tough skins, hides , claws etc , the god gave humans different talents to survive in this world. But these talents not only helped humans survive the world but dominate it.

Turner understood the talent part but point storing system ?

Host has been given special point system. It helps host to gain new talents or upgrade the abilities of existing talents. The ability of talent determines the amount of points required. Host gains point by fulfilling certain secret missions set by author for you. Host wont know these mission's objectives but would gain points immediately if he completes them.*

Turner thought about it for a moment,"dang its like shooting in dark and trying to hit the target." He then asked the system to show his status.

*good that host has realized it. It was on earth that host read the light novel. Because of this talent host remembers each and every line of the book. Furthermore whatever host reads In this world would also be remembered by him.

Turner absorbed all the information he heard and pondered on it. He then thought about what kind of talents he had to make to get in the top ranks so that he could get close to the main characters, but more importantly the talents that he needed to survive this world.

At the same time the guy on the mike said something that made all the people inside the hall look at the stage.

"uhm uhm… now that the introduction has been done let me introduce to you the second rank among you – Chrome Blackthorn"

Chrome Blackthorn. Heir of the Blackthorn family , one of the richest family of the country. Their business was in food processing( monster meat, eggs etc). Chrome since young had been a genius. A user of the sword .

His main talent was also very good- the talent to swing. By name it may look weird but this talent helped him gain faster experience in learning the sword. He was in the end just second to Light in using sword.

An extremely arrogant personality but he had the talent to back it up. Though he didn't show it but he cared deeply about his friends and would not even care for his life in order to save them. It was him only that saved Light by sacrificing himself in one of their adventure in the future…

At this moment there was a pindrop silence in the whole hall. People had looks of envy and jealousy on their faces.

Turner noticed this and smirked and murmured "well its expected." Light had the story off those shounen mangas. An orphan born at the outskirts of the country.His whole life he had been underestimated and he had proves his opponents always wrong. He had on the greatest talents – the talent to surpass . This gave him the ability to surpass his limits whenever he was facing someone stronger or tougher than him.

If this talent was not enough he had one more talent as special as his 1st – talent to heal. With this all normal injuries he experienced in his fight – cuts, bleeding, even pain instantly healed.

Its true both of his talents had their limits like his second talent couldn't save him from death or his 1st cant infinitely surpass his limits to defeat his enemy but nevertheless both these had helped him become no.1 of this academy.
