Chapter 30: Bored

With the snake's crystal in hand, David knew he had to move quickly. He needed to get his hands on some medicine for his injured arm before it became too infected.

Picking his blade, David proceeded to head to to his base, as quickly as possible.

Dragging his tired body, David silently and quickly moved through the buildings and alley without alerting any zombie.

David later encountered a zombie but he was able to dispatch it before it could make any noise.

It took more than twenty minutes but he had gotten to his base, an average looking house that was actually big and stocked inside.

He originally thought of going back to Tommy house but there was already people living in it and he didn't want to kill for no reason.

And besides, the house was not his, so he could not tell them to go as they were more likely to start a fight.

So he settled with this house, it was big and had a lot of provisions. Nobody had tried to enter the house because of the large number of zombies.

And since even mutant zombies were threats but little to David, it was a bit hard as they was a good number of advanced zombies.

But he killed them and claimed the house, and then he stocked the place with things he was going to need.

That Included food, water, daily essentials, training equipments and medicine. Creating an almost ideal house.

David after looking at the house a bit, opened the door with his key which he found under the carpet.

Inside the house, he was met by Max, who was clearly not in a good mood and he could only ruffle his head, drop the crystal and look for the medicine.

David knew that Max had always felt useless and afraid when he went and fought all those monsters alone.

David had hoped to find a way to make him stronger so he could help him in tough battles against zombies and monsters.

And he has yet to find a suitable way, he was going to try the crystal but he didn't know if there would be a disastrous consequence, so he held it off.

The recent encounter with the mutated snake had reminded him of his own weaknesses, and he couldn't help but feel a sense of anger at not being able to protect himself.

If he was with max, then he and Max could have died as the only reason he survived was luck.

What If the snake had squised him or just use it's big fangs to bite him to death, he was not a fan of letting luck fight for him.

In that moment, David realized that he had to get stronger. He couldn't rely on luck and chance forever.

He knew that there would be more battles to come, and he had to be ready. So he would train harder than ever, to become the kind of fighter who could not only protect himself, but also those close to him.

First things first, before he started any of this he had to take care of his arm, the one that was broken In the fight.

Heading to the room with all the medicines, David opened the door and was welcomed with the smell of medicine.

The room which probably belonged to a girl by the pink colours in the room was full of a lot of medicines thrown on the bed.

David walked into the room and looked at the medicines on the floor and on the bed, David sighed and looked up at the ceiling.

He didn't know which drug to take, how is he supposed to take care of his broken arm if he didn't know what to do.

"Wait, don't they usually tie a cloth around the broken arm to act like a cast before they can find a solution.?

David asked himself and not being able to think of anything else, he went to the master room for any long cloth he could find.

David searched the closet but he could not find anyone long enough for what he needed for his arm.

"Next room."

After looking through the eroomand not being able to find a long enough cloth, David then decided to check the room he and Max took.

Walking to the last door on the passageway, David entered a room with two beds and a small couch for relaxing.

There was a game console connected to the TV in front of the bed and then the closet was mostly rumpled with clothes on the floor.

"I guess the person was not a fan of being tidy and clean."

Not bothered by the game console or the soft bed that called him, David walked to the open closet.

"Where is it.?

David got really frustrated when he didn't find a cloth he could use, then he remembered the curtains.

"I can just tear and use it."

Slapping his head for not thinking of that in the first place, David went to the closest curtain he could see and cut it with his blade.

Then after cutting a smaller and a equally long part, he lifted his broken hand, then he took the long piece and tied around his neck.

Then resting his arm on it, David successfully dealing with the problem. Albeit temporarily but it would do for now.

"I need to rest."

After saying this, David proceeded to fall flat on the bed and close his eyes, it was not as fast as he thought and he only slept after like twenty minutes.

"Grrrrrrrrrrrrr."

Not knowing that as he slept, max was now looking at the snakes crystal and was about to eat it.

But In the end it broke from that feeling that was attracting it to the crystal and laid on the floor, occasionally looking at the crystal.

This continued until it eventually got bored and went upstairs and using the open door, he went and laid down on the bed opposite Davids own.
