Chapter 18: Top Ten

Going backwards, david looks at the monster in it's eyes, then he held up the blade and just looked at the monster.

The monster beats it's chest and makes a loud roar, then suddenly stepping on the hard road, it charged at david.

It carried a putrid current with it as it charged towards david, as if it was a heavy truck flying toward him.

Right when the big body charged, david in a moment quickly dodges to the side, and the monster didn't have time to stop.

With a quick flash in his eyes, all the power in his body focused on his arm unrelentlessly, he made a slash with his fiend blade.

The two legs were immediately severed from it's body and flew up high, blood started spewing out of the area where it was cut.

The body flew at least ten meters before it finally fell.

"Roooooooaaaaaaa! "

The monster starts shouting and thrashing all around, fresh blood was spewing out from the spot that was cut.

"Hu, hu "

David took in two deep breaths, his heart was shaken a bit after seeing this gory scene.

"Uhhhh. "

Taking another deep breath, david moves to the monster.

"You and I have no past grudges nor recent hatred, to survive I must kill you. "

Quickly saying what was on his mind, david felt very free as he recited something that his father said in the military.

The monster looking at david says nothing and just lays there helpless, he had lost too much blood and can't move.

"Sorry. "

Looking at the monster, david closes his eyes so as to not be merciful, raising the blade up, he drops it.

"Ohh. "

Opening his eyes, david tries to brand this image in his mind, there will be a lot more in the future.

"Take care of the bodies and strengthen the defenses. "

Giving orders to their subordinates, the body of the monster and the zombies are removed and the place cleaned.

"Good job, now no one should have a problem with you being the best. "

The second part of the sentence was directed at those that wanted to challenge David.

"Okay with that, use this momentum to gain popularity with the soldiers. "

"Yes. "

But before david could do anything, he had to freshen himself up.

Five hours later.

"So, I will be taking on some disciples and I was wondering who wants to apply for it. "

Hearing this, all the young soldiers all raise their hands, there is no one who doesn't want to be able to kill monsters like him.

"Okay, after a series of tests, the top ten will be taken under me. "

All the soldiers get excited hearing this, but there was also fear.

Saying this, David proceeds to slowly walk away, while looking super cool.

But unfortunately for him, he tripped and fell on his face, standing up, he goes.

With a smile, standing in front him was Mr armstrong, and some soldiers.

Taking david back to the same room, david sees all of the same people as before, along with some new faces.

All the people present stand and salute.

Sitting down, david looks at all of the people present and they also look at him.

Everyone looked at each other and eventually nobody stood up.

"I want you to prepare a comprehensive list of all the soldiers and weapons in the base. "

"Yes. "

"Meeting dismissed. "

And faster than flash, the meeting ends.

"Come, let me show you the work the science team has been doing. "

Leading david down a dark narrow path, they appear before a large metal door.

"St23247*. "

Speaking in a weird code, the metal door is slowly opened and in front is a laboratory full of scientist's.

"Welcome, Major. "

All the scientists greet david before getting back to their work.

"Welcome to our science base, this is where we experiment on the dead zombies and all monsters we might kill. "

Mr armstrong introduces the place to david, but he doesn't know that david was not feeling happy about this place.

"So, this is where you experiment on zombies and monsters, you don't experiment on any human being? "

David asks a concerning question, he needs to know if he had just entered a place of no return.

"We don't, some places do but we have not yet gotten any test subject, I hope you are not mad or disappointed with us. "

Mr armstrong tells him the truth, it is better to know now than find out later.

"I am not actually mad or disappointed, I knew that the government does this kind of things years ago, but as long as it doesn't affect me, I'm okay. "

Not a answer he was expecting but it didn't really shock him as he had seen some cold blooded youths.

"Good, let me take you to the head scientist here. "
