Some of the soldiers were new, so they had to be directed by their superiors.

Even though he used to hear it in movies, he didn't actually know what it actually means.
"It indicates an emergency situation or threat of a dangerous situation that is too drastic as to constitute an emergency. "
Hearing this, david realizes that the answer is similar to what he had thought.

Just as he turned to run, he sees the former major wearing armor and holding a gun.

After saying this, Mr armstrong just runs at the monster with his weapons.
