CHAPTER 21: WHAT ELSE CAN I DO

Getting in,Alicia quickly locked the door, her chest heaving upwards with her heartbeat drumming in her ears,after a minute her shaky hands finally left the door handle and then she placed them on her lap.

"T-thanks" she said still unable to find her voice as it barely came out as a whisper. The boy was silent as though he didn't hear her.

A minute later the car moved taking a reverse before going straight.

Not bothering to even take a clearer look at the boy, Alicia leaned back on the headrest of the car and closed her eyes, she still wasn't over the traumatic experience.

Some minutes later, they were back on the main campus ground but Alicia still didn't even notice until they arrived at her hostel's main gate and the car pulled over.

It took about 20 seconds before Alicia realized the car had stopped, she slowly opened her eyes to peep and she saw that she was already in front of her hostel gate.

A small grateful smile crept on her lips before her still watery eyes finally moved to the boy on the driver seat who had been staring at her all the while the car stopped, Alicia turned and their eyes met,her breath suddenly hitched as she stared at him in the dark, taking her time to observe his features.

Even in the dim light, his handsome features still stood out against the darkness, his piercing gray eyes seemed to glint in the silvery moonlight, his dark hair fell in soft waves framing his face with a hint of Shadow making him appear both elegant and dangerous at the same time.

Alicia gasped at the sight of him, even in the darkness his beauty was this intoxicating how much more would it be in the day, his intense brooding stare and stunning features were framed by the dark interior of his luxurious car as if inviting her into his world of luxury and danger, his left hand on the steering wheel with an effortless confidence indicating he was no baby in the driving business.

Alicia's heartbeat accelerated,not from fear but from the sight that beheld her, and it was then she also inhaled the mixed scent of his masculinity and that new car smell and it scent was just so out of the world,her shimmering bright sea green eyes glowed in the dark as she continued feeding her eyes.

Seconds later Alicia snapped out of her daze and cleared her throat softly realizing that she had to come down and was probably wasting his time " T- thank you very much for what you've done for me today,I,I really appreciate". She said in a greatful tone waiting for a response,but none came. "ok then I,I'll be leaving now, sorry for the inconveniences and thanks once again". She finally said and then tried to open the car but it seemed she didn't know how,she had never been in such a luxury car,only cabs and long buses.

Alicia glanced at the boy looking akward, silently telling him that she couldn't get out and because it was dark, Alicia couldn't see the amused smirk that crept on the boy's face before he said.

"Thanks huh?, That's all I get". He added with a bit of mischief playing in his voice

Alicia swallowed from the tone of his voice,it sounded so sweet, seductive and dangerous at the same time and the combo just made it sooooo.... indescribable

Now Alicia didn't know what he would ask of her to repay his favor but she would gladly do it if she could because she didn't know this guy from anywhere and yet he saved her from those rogues and while he had her all to himself he could have driven her elsewhere to either hurt or do whatever he pleased with her but instead he brought her straight to her hostel.

So to Alicia, that only proved that he was to be trusted " w-what else can I do then " she replied glancing at him and fiddling her skirts like a timid child

The boy didn't say anything but instead scrambled for a card and handed it over to her " here,make sure to call me tomorrow " he said in a plain sharp voice that left no room for disagreement or excuses.

Alicia stared at the card for a second before she moved and took it. " Okay " she replied softly and turned towards the car door again to see that it was already opened,she let out a small smile before she turned around again. " Ok then bye goodnight" and without waiting for a reply,she jumped down and hurried towards her Gate that was still bustling with girls going in and out while others seated outside enjoying the fresh air and discussing among themselves.

As Alicia worked towards the gate a worried Tammy and Sophie welcomed her as they rushed towards her upon sight,they had been waiting at the gate for over 30 minutes but still no sign of her and to further worsen their fears was that she wasn't answering her phone and it was already dark and they were fully aware what Montgomery was like for the girls in the dark.

They happily and worriedly rushed towards her taking her bags and upon noticing the gloomy look on her face they began to bombard her with questions as they walked inside going upstairs to the third floor.

Jaden still seated in his car didn't move just yet but waited until Alicia was fully in before he finally started the car and zoomed off ,not to his destination,but towards that abadoned block,he had unfinished business there.

Upon getting to her room, Alicia was too exhausted to do anything,she simply told Tammy and Sophie that she was gonna talk to them tomorrow and then with the little strength left in her,she took her bath and immediately crashed into her bed dozing off in the same minute,she didn't even bother having dinner as today was probably the worst day of her life,an experience she was never going to forget.

Alicia knew very well that she was never walking alone in the dark again,never ever..
