A shadowy guest

The cool evening air blew through the room which Odin had settled in, in the Heavenille household. He had just taken a hot bath and was in the process of reading a book.

Even though he seemed fully concentrated on the book, he suddenly said without lifting his head. "I didn't know you had missed me that much to come and visit me."

The room was quiet without any response making one think that Odin was just reenacting the book he was reading but suddenly, a shadow moved from the wall and walked towards the bed.

The figure of the person couldn't be seen but only the shadow was visible. The shadow finally stopped in front of the bed but Odin didn't seem fazed by this abnormal occurrence.

"Oh, my bad." Odin dramatically said while hitting his hand on his head. "You can have a seat."

The shadow took a few moments before getting seated on the side of the bed.

"In as much as I wouldn't mind you melding into the darkness in this manner, as proper etiquette, you must allow me to see who I am going to engage in a conversation with."

There was no movement from the side of the shadow but soon it pulled down the hood of its robe and a beautiful feminine face was revealed.

Her face glowed naturally adding a bit of a holy light to her beauty.

Odin revealed a rare happy smile and his jade-black eyes softened upon seeing the identity of the 'shadow'.

The female also smiled in response and stared lovingly at Odin.

"I would love to stay but my time is limited so let me tell you this."  The woman began after minutes of staring at each other. Her tone was melodious and even though it was dripping in seriousness, it was enough to make an ordinary man enter into a trance.

"You're in the right house and do not rest until the mission is accomplished. She holds the key to his redemption."

"But she seems normal to me. Almost too plain."  Odin replied with a hint of doubt in his tone.

"She is the one." The woman said quietly before starting at the balcony where the curtains were dancing elegantly. "It seems like the sisters of Fate are favouring us for we have time. Much time to save him."

The woman broke the good news down. A smile appeared on her countenance. She glowed even more after this and she leaned in and gave Odin a short kiss before disappearing.

Odin still had his eyes closed revelling in the sweetness of the kiss from his sweetheart. He closed the book and climbed out of bed.

He walked towards the balcony in short steps enjoying the lingering particles of light which was left in her disappearance. Her scent also lingered in the room.

The night was cool and the moon was surrounded by stars, making it an eye candy for people who had the pleasure to see it.

"When will all this be over? I thought gods were supposed to have harmonious lives. When did it become this bad?" These questions rang incessantly in his ears and when he couldn't take it anymore, he also disappeared into the night.

When morning came, Odin had breakfast with the family and after that took his leave but not before staring at Carrissa.

Carrissa felt a bit unsettled by his look. It had a hint of curiousness and another thing which she couldn't identify.

"I will see you again next month, Lady Carrissa."

With a smile, he left without having the opportunity to the frosty look in Carrissa's eyes.
