A week later~~~

The Heavenille household was busily preparing for the arrival of Odin. Though this household housed a Duke of a large dukedom, this figure was not to be taken lightly. He was the right-hand man of the King and even the representative of the royal house.

Albert paced up and down as he took care of the necessary things but at the same time, he wondered what would make him leave the capital city to report himself.

He did not have to wait long for the answer as he was told that Odin had gotten to his dukedom.

They welcomed him grandly and after exchanging the necessary pleasantries and indulging in small talk, they finally got to business.

Seated in the lavish sitting room was Carrissa, who was on the right side of her father, Albert who sat in the centre and Odin who sat opposite them.

They were served tea and they sipped as they engaged in a conversation.

"So if I may ask, what made Lord Odin leave the capital to visit me in my humble dukedom?" Albert asked straightforwardly.

Odin smiled a bit. This was the reason why he loved interacting with the Duke of Xolten. He was straightforward and would always call a spade, a spade.

"I came over to grant a reply to an invitation sent to the King,"  Odin said, he carefully placed his cup on the table and stared at the father-daughter duo. "And his reply was in the affirmative."

"I am delighted that His Majesty would have time to grace the event,"  Albert replied with a delighted smile. Even though he had his doubts he knew that now was not the time to speak about it.

Odin gave off a slight smile before shifting his eyes to the lady in question and the main reason why he travelled here. " Your attributes leap far and beyond, Lady Carrissa." Odin began, shifting the conversation to her. He stared at her with an inquisitive gaze as though he wanted to know what she was made of and surprisingly for Carrissa, she didn't feel uncomfortable or anything.

"You flatter me, Lord Odin,"  Carrissa replied politely, her clear blue eyes staring directly into the black ones of Odin.

"Congratulations on your upcoming birthday. I may or may not have the honour of being there."  Odin congratulated her. His initial subtle smile became a bit wider and sweet.

"Thank you, Lord Odin, and I would love to have you here," Carrissa replied before shifting her gaze to her cup of tea which had suddenly become interesting to her.

Albert had excused himself to do something when a servant came whispering into his ears leaving the duo together.

"Tell me more about yourself, Lady Carrissa. I am sure that a woman who has been termed as the most beautiful across the lands would have a great active social life."

Carrissa chuckled before answering. " I wish the words of Lord Odin were true but I have an awfully bad social life,"  Carrissa answered with a smile.

Odin felt surprised but he maintained a calm facade. Most women would usually lie about their social life since most men love socially active women but here was the beauty queen proudly stating that her social life was abysmally bad. It seemed that what that person said was right but he didn't believe that she was the one. She felt too...normal.

Silence prevailed between them for a while and soon Albert returned.

Odin was made to sleep for the night at the insistence of Albert but before that, he discussed something of utmost importance with him for a long period of time.
