Chapter 007 - Wind and Water

Wystan successfully teached Roxy silent casting technique, but the weird thing is she became incredibly attached to him, more than Lilia and Zenith.

Wynstan likes it though, Roxy's adorable and he can actually spoil her unlike Zenith and Lilia who's like a mother figure to him.

But Rudeus sometimes gives Wynstan a stink eye whenever Roxy prioritizes Wynstan instead of him.

Wynstan also improved most of his skills.

Yes he mastered all four element attack magic to saint rank.

How is that possible? Well training Roxy actually also trained Wynstan mana control and understanding about elements and it's not that surprising considering he got a king ranked skill.

Unlike most warriors who improves their battle aura through physical training and battling, Wynstan improves his by understanding mana and increasing his control over it.

Wynstan also improves his stamina by running everyday and doing some physical workout.

The downside of this is his food consumption doubled…no tripled which forced him to hunt for his own food every night after the family was asleep.

Which pushes his necromancy level, making his maximum summon to 15.

Even with all of that training Wynstan failed to level up his [Physical Resistance (Passive, Beginner)] and [Negative Status Resistance (Passive, Beginner)].

Turns out self inflicted wounds can't increase his Physical Resistance.

He also learned [Flame Breathing (Active, Saint)] from successfully teaching Roxy silent casting.

Now the thing that made Wynstan most frustrated.

[Cooking Mastery (Passive, Beginner)] ->-> [Cooking Mastery (Passive, Intermediate)]

For every goddamn day he did not miss cooking and he only leveled up his mastery to intermediate which made him realize that he's not talented in cooking at all.

Even with the recipes inside his head Lilia quickly learned them and made them more delicious. Even Wynstan's mayonnaise is a level lower than Lilia creamy mayonnaise.

Roxy noticed Wynstan's childish frustration regarding cooking, and hugged Wynstan to sleep.

From that day Wynstan and Lilia became rivals in cooking.

A great friend and cooking buddies became rivals, a relationship built in blood, sweat, and garlic turned to a bloody rivalry.

Every afternoon,, It's like it was set on stone, the battle always begins, gut and blood flies all over the place as Wynstan and Lilia butchers their meat.

"I will not lose this time, Water Lily," Wynstan said as he cut and seared his meat.

"Bring it! Wynstyranny, I will not lose my pride!" Lilia said.

Behind them is Roxy, she sweats drop and decides to leave this battlefield. This is too high a level for her.

Lilia won again though.

"If you're going to counter wind, use a more stable version of water, focus on its defense and versatility or else it will be useless and be cut by my wind blades," Wynstan instructed.

Roxy nodded as they continued to spar.

They are currently outside of the village so there won't be casualties if they decided to use some higher level spells.

The earth then surrounded Wynstan and caught him inside, he easily destroyed it though by expanding wind in all directions.

*Boom*

[Blizzard Storm, (Active, Advance)

The earth dome exploded but in front of Wynstan is a bunch of ice shards already shooting at him.

Creating a sharp spinning wind as a shield the ice shards got shredded and failed to penetrate it.

At the same time Wynstan quickly expanded his mana and controlled the earth debris from the destroyed earth dome and attacked Roxy with it.

Roxy used water and created a wall from it but the earth shards pierce it, hitting Roxy's shoulder's, stomach, and legs which sends to the ground.

"Don't use water as is, it sucks at protecting, at least at some current on it to divert the projectiles, you're not the sea you know?" Wynstan said as he put his hands inside his pocket and waited for Roxy to get up.

Roxy tried to stand, The bruise all over her body made it hard.

"You can just admit that this is my win, you know?" Wynstan always tries to win, It will be rude if he intentionally loses in sparring to his opponent.

"No not this time…" Roxy said as Wynstan felt a sudden spike in mana.

*Thunder* *Thunder*

The sky suddenly turns dark as the wind increases in the vicinity.

Wynstan don't know what's is Roxy is trying to do here, If he remembers right, in the anime this spell is called [Cumulonimbus] a saint rank spell that Creates thundercloud, and causes torrential rain to pour down in a large area with occasional lightning strikes.

But, Roxy shouldn't be able to control those lightning strikes which made this "saint" rank spell just a spell to make him wet.

*Crackle* *Thunder*

Wynstan smirks, his heartbeat increases with excitement as he is thrilled with what Roxy is planning.

Roxy looks at Wynstan as she grip her staff and pointed it at Wynstan then cooly said, "King rank spell, Hail Storm.]

Wynstan's eyes went wide as the rain water turned to ice that changed its direction and targeted him.

"Fuck…" Wynstan didn't expect that Roxy already had a king rank spells in those 6 months. She's as talented as Rudeus.

[Zephyr's Armor - Full Release]

It seems all the wind in the place sucks towards Wynstan reinforcing his body.

With Zephyr's Armor Wynstan crossed his arms and full take the for of [Hail Storm (Active, King]

"I knew it, you're always holding back right?" Roxy said with a gentle smile as she looks at the Unscathed Wynstan covered in green wind armor all over his body.

She's shaking, exhausted, and her mana is nearing its end, at best she can throw two beginner level spells before passing out.

Wynstan looks at Roxy who's wearing a sad smile. This battle wasn't even enough to use 10% of his monstrous mana reserves.

Uncasting [Zephyr's Armor] Wynstan walked towards the battered Roxy, Wynstan touched her shoulder gently then said with mocking gaze, "Don't be grumpy, Congratulations, you're a Water King now m-y s-t-u-d-e-n-t.

Tick Mark appeared on Roxy's forehead. She doesn't mind being Wynstan's apprentice but why did she feel like Wynstan was mocking her.

"I am happy that you became a water king but I'm sorry, I can't hand you the win just because you can't reach it. He he he short people joke," Wynstan said as he continued.

"Wha…" Roxy felt like Wynstan was getting meaner so she pulled an undodgeable move.

"Fuwehhhhh" Wynstan voiced out as Roxy pulled both of his cheeks.

After that they both laugh it up and congratulate each other sincerely.

Wynstan replenishes Roxy's mana with his own so she can cast healing magic to mend her wounds.
