"Ding! Congratulations, Host! Reward: Brain Phone Bug!"
With Kalifa agreeing to the contract, Finn's reward appeared instantly.
After Kalifa left, she didn't pack any belongings. Instead, she quickly found a secluded spot and made a phone call.
"Hey, Lucci, something's up. You and Kaku come to Blueno's bar immediately. We need to talk."
"Got it," Lucci responded.
Kalifa then called Blueno, "We'll be at your place shortly."
...
Back in the chief's office, Finn held a unique phone bug. Its body was white, with black ears, eyes, and nose—resembling a panda.
Through the phone bug, Finn could clearly hear Kalifa's conversation with Lucci and Blueno.
"Damn it! The World Government bastards!" Ace Bagu muttered in frustration. Hearing Kalifa coordinating with Lucci and Blueno confirmed everything Finn had said.
There was no denying it now. The people he trusted—his own team—were undercover agents.
Ace Bagu felt overwhelmed. Finn put away the phone bug, but kept the monitoring feature on. He didn't need Ace Bagu to hear more; the point was made.
Ace Bagu, now visibly shaken, turned to Finn. "Master Finn, now that we know their identities, what should we do? If they decide to show their true colors, it could be a disaster."
Ace Bagu wasn't afraid of dying, but he feared for Franky. He'd given Franky the Pluton battleship's blueprints and urged him to leave the city. But Franky, loyal as ever, refused to go.
Finn gave Ace Bagu a steady look. "Don't worry, I can handle a few CP9 agents. But I have one condition."
Ace Bagu's face darkened. "Master Finn…you're not after the Pluton blueprints, are you? You said you didn't want them."
"It's not what you think," Finn said with a smile, standing up from the desk. "My condition is simple: you must destroy the Pluton battleship blueprints."
"Destroy them!?" Ace Bagu was shocked. He had thought about it before, but those blueprints were the last thing his master had entrusted to him. Destroying them felt impossible.
Finn looked at him seriously. "Tell me, when your master gave you those blueprints, did he ask you to build Pluton?"
Ace Bagu shook his head. "No! Master specifically told me to keep them safe, to never let anyone else have them, and to ensure that such a devastating weapon never sees the light of day."
"Exactly," Finn continued. "So, if your master never wanted the Pluton to exist, what's the best way to ensure that no one can ever get their hands on it?"
Ace Bagu hesitated, and then his eyes widened. "Destroy it?"
"Correct. By destroying the blueprints, you honor your master's final wish," Finn said calmly. "If the blueprints aren't destroyed, it's only a matter of time before someone stronger—like CP0—comes after you. Do you think you can hide them forever?"
Ace Bagu felt the weight of Finn's words. He realized Finn was right. He couldn't protect the blueprints forever, and once they fell into the wrong hands, it would mean disaster for the world.
After a moment of deep reflection, Ace Bagu nodded solemnly. "You're right, Master Finn. Destroying the blueprints is the only way to truly protect them. I'll do it. I'll destroy them and make sure the World Government never gets their hands on Pluton!"
With determination, Ace Bagu turned to leave. After a few steps, he paused, glancing back at Finn. "Master Finn, you've already helped so much. Let me handle this on my own. You can stay here; I'll bring you the good news."
Finn chuckled. "What? Are you afraid I'll snatch them?"
Ace Bagu looked embarrassed. That's exactly what he had been worried about, but he couldn't admit it outright.
Seeing Ace Bagu's awkward expression, Finn laughed and waved him off. "Go ahead, I trust you."
Ace Bagu bowed deeply. "Thank you for understanding, Master Finn."
With that, he left the office, determined to destroy the blueprints.
Finn stayed behind, sitting on the sofa and listening to CP9's discussions through the smart phone bug.
He heard Lucci say, "That kid, Monkey D. Finn, probably doesn't know we're with the World Government. If he did, he wouldn't dare make a move. Kalifa, you stay there for now. We'll take care of this."
"Understood," Kalifa replied.
Thanks to the advanced phone bug, Finn could eavesdrop on their conversations even when they weren't on the phone.
After confirming that Lucci and the others had left Blueno's bar, leaving only Kalifa behind, Finn took action. He edited Kalifa's phone bug with his own, ensuring that all of her calls would now be rerouted to him.
Then, Finn dialed her.
Seeing the special line, Kalifa immediately answered, "Sir."
Using Spandam's voice, Finn spoke. "Kalifa, I've received word that your work contract was just transferred to Monkey D. Finn?"
"Yes, sir," Kalifa replied, unfazed. She knew how quickly information traveled within their network.
"Excellent! This is a golden opportunity. Stop your current mission immediately—I'm assigning you a new one."
Kalifa frowned slightly, but followed protocol. "Understood. Please provide further instructions."
With a firm tone, "Spandam" continued, "You'll go undercover as Finn's secretary. Collect every bit of information you can about him. His father, Monkey D. Dragon, is the leader of the Revolutionary Army. This is a critical mission."
Kalifa's posture straightened. She realized how serious this assignment was.
"You are to play your role as secretary to perfection. Do not let Finn suspect anything. Blend in. Make him trust you completely," the voice ordered.
"Do you understand?"
Kalifa took a deep breath and responded with determination, "Yes, sir! I will complete the mission without fail."
