After he finished, he watched as Li Meixue kept her head lowered; she seemed to have a hard time trying to process what he just said.

"Did you two do it?" She suddenly asked.

"Meixue! That's not something you're-"

"I'm not supposed to know, right?" When she said that, Li Meixue raised her head, stunning Bai Shen.

It was because she was currently crying; tears continuously poured down her cheeks.

"Meixue..." Bai Shen was stunned. He didn't expect his best friend to cry like this because of something he just said.

"You're an idiot! I thought... I thought you also liked me! So I didn't make a move; I waited for you to do it!"

"But look what happened now, hah... So laughable..." Venting all her feelings, Meixue couldn't take it anymore and broke into sobs.

She couldn't help it; even if she knew Lin Ruoxi's backstory and felt bad for the girl, it still pained her heart to know that Bai Shen was now taken by another woman.

She liked him for months, and just like she told him, she waited for him to say it first, but it didn't happen.

Instead, this whole waiting made her aware of how stupid she was.

If she was a bit more proactive, or maybe if she behaved around Bai Shen, maybe he would've confessed to her already.

"Meixue, you... You liked me?" Bai Shen's thoughts were in disarray; he didn't know what to say anymore because he also crushed on Meixue before meeting Lin Ruoxi...

With less than twenty-four hours before the Apocalypse, Bai Shen decided to break the truth to them.

'Hopefully, everything would proceed as I want.'
