A high profile woman.

Two weeks past since our sleeping arrangement and each time, Ryan spent the night outside. For the first few days I thought I wouldn't care because of the harsh words he had said to me but after the first week, I couldn't help but wonder where he was.

" Milady if you are so worried then why don't you ask the Duke himself?" Hazel answered, nothing had changed over the past weeks she was still as straightforward as she was when I first met her.

" Miss Hazel, if I could,, I would." I said as I soaked into the rosy bath my maids made for the both of us.

" My my, milady, I was just trying to help." She said with a chuckle.

" Well your words are not helpful at all. Plus they are laced with sarcasm." I said rolling my eyes.

" In any case, what do you know about his late wife? " I asked because I was hitting dead end after dead end since I last promised him to investigate for him.

" Huh? Why do you want to know about the late duchess, milady?" Miss Hazel asked as she cocked an eyebrow in my direction.

" I want to find out something." I said curtly. I did not want to get into the details, and she got the message.

" Ah well, I know that She was hailed as the prettiest and most docile women in our kingdom. In fact, her beauty was so grand, that many princes from other kingdoms came for her hand in marriage." She started.

" But then, she chose the Duke instead. She was very young, but apparently she had made quite a name for herself in the army and that's why the Duke fell for her. " She said

I felt a pang of envy as Miss Hazel said this, but I did not change my expression.

" However, that's not were things ended." She continued piquing my interest.

" Rumor has it that, she was actually the King's illegitimate child,, but that's just a rumor. It never got to be confirmed because she died on the carriage that day and even more the carriage exploded and burnt down as soon as master Jack was rescued from it leaving nothing from her, they couldn't even find her remains." She explained quietly. She looked like she was deeply affected by the story but then quickly regained her composure,

" In any case, that's all I know." She stated.

" How sad." I said, I could feel the tears fill up in my eyes. It broke my heart that they could not even find her remains, how could help ones find closure otherwise? No wonder, Ryan was still investigating the matter!

" Mm, It is especially considering that Little Jack had just been born, and that she was so young." Miss Hazel said

" How old was she?" I asked

" She was just about your age when she gave birth to young master Ryan." Miss Hazel said and I couldn't hide my shock!

" She was 19?!" I exclaimed

" 18 to be exact, and the Duke was 20 at the time." Miss Hazel explained.

" Wow..." I whispered

" Why are you so shocked, that's the age a lot of young ladies usually get married and start families around here." She scoffed

" They were both so young. That would mean, Ryan is 24 now?" I said more like I asked for confirmation from Miss Hazel

" Yes." She replied.

" Thank you. By the way, how do you know such important information?" I asked her.

She squirmed in the bath and looked a a bitncomfortable at my question, so I added," It's fine you don't need to answer that."

" Thank you." She said with a nod.

" Wait!" I said suddenly sitting up in the bath.

" You said that she was a military woman?" I asked

" Yes, I said that in the first part of the introduction. Why?"

" I have an idea." I said. Now I had a way to fully investigate her death, it made perfect sense now! Why would we search for clues for her death using normal methods when she was such a high profile woman? It's obvious that if this was planned we wouldn't be able to uncover anything using ordinary methods.
