CHAPTER FORTY-SIX
"Why are we here?" Levi asked me. I was standing in the middle of Zal and Levi. "Uhm. I have a really bad feeling about today. But we make a good trio, right?" I said, linking arms with them, and Levi sighed. Lisa and Phil waved to me, and about 50 other priests I didn't know waved too. "oop. Time to split up." I said, unlinking arms. Almost instantly, I was surrounded. "This is going to take a while. Want some fruit juice?" Phil asked, holding two glasses. "You didn't ask me for one." Lisa mourned, and Phil stepped on her foot. "Sure." I said. Conversation was erupting around me, about me, but at least I didn't have a lot of questions to answer.
"How pretty you are!"
"Look, she's like a doll!"
"Such marvellous eyes too."
"And look! Her divine power must be so strong."
"Grey priest robes? Aren't those for seniors?"
Seniors? Well, I had the strongest divine power on earth, so that made sense. Noice. "Nice to meet you, everyone. My name is Cordelia." I said, bowing in the best curtsy I could muster. Which wasn't very good after all. I almost fell over. More chatter erupted. The priests, who were actually quite friendly, showed me how to bow the right way, without falling over this time. I was smiling now, as the priest laughed and tried to correct me. This was fun!
Then, I heard thunder in the distance. I looked up to see dark clouds rumbling. You got anger issues or something, clouds? stop!
Suddenly, I buckled forward in surprise. My heart stated pounding in her chest.
Hadn't it rained when the assassination had happened too?
