CHAPTER FORTY-SEVEN
"Run! every! Head for cover!" I shouted, and everyone turned around. Don't just stare! "Assasssins!" I yelled, swooping under a table as an arrow whistled through the air. Levi and Zal were already fighting them off. Right. I could burn people alive. "Bog! Im sorry! Ill get right to it! Im not a coward!" I yelled. You'd better. Bog said. Ill be right behind you. he added. My entire arm pulsed, bursting into flames that dances around me, but never burned me. I couldnt even feel any heat from them, just a small warmth. I guess it wasn't the same for others, though, because as soon as I grabbed the neck of the person behind Levi, they started screaming. Flame spread all over their body, and in under 3 seconds they were just a pile of ashes that crumbled out of my hands. Oop. Levi also looked at me in shock, not noticing the assassin sneaking up behind him to slit his throat. "Levi! Behind you!" I screamed. Levi whirled and raised his sword just in time to parry the assassin. Phew. I turned away. No one was attacking me now, since levi had taken care of most of the assassins. What a good person I had chosen to hire. But where was Zal?
I turned around to see Zal kneeling next to someone's body. "Uhm, Zal…" I said, running closer. But the words died out in my throat before I could say anything.
Zal was crying next to the Duke's lifeless body.
