Chapter 67: Future?

The three of them flew away from the rest and then landed in a deserted place so that no one could hear them. Trunks stopped before father and son.

"By the way Gohan, that suit you have is quite strange" Goku said looking at the outfit of his son, who scratched the back of his neck smiling.

"Really? Well, they gave it to me in Yadrat, the planet where I was training" Gohan answered smiling, "They are very kind people!"

"Oh yeah? Well, we'll talk about that later" Goku commented before looking at Trunks, "Well? What did you want to tell me?"

Trunks was very puzzled by what he had heard, how come Gohan was in Yadrat? No, that event didn't make any kind of sense.

"W-were you in Yadrat? The one who should have been there is Goku" said Trunks leaving Goku confused by such words.

"Uh... I don't understand you"

Gohan looked at Trunks moved, he understood the mental confusion he must be suffering. And almost everything that had happened had been his fault.

"Well... I'll explain. But I'll ask you to keep it a secret, please" Trunks spoke with some severity and received nods.

Trunks wanted to tell them what he lived through in his time, so that they could tell him how it is that there were so many differences today.

"You may find this strange... but I have traveled in a time machine that was built twenty years in the future" Trunks spoke seriously.

"Are you from the future?!" Goku exclaimed.

Trunks told the same as in the original story: Dr. Gero and his androids, etc. Gohan was feigning surprise, since he already knew that.

Until after a while Trunks told that he was the last warrior in the future and that all the others were killed by those androids.

"What do you say?! Even Gohan was killed?" Goku asked not believing what he heard.

"He... w-was my teacher, he died years ago and I couldn't do anything about it" Trunks held back his tears and Gohan felt more sorry for Trunks.

The poor boy had lost his father, his teacher, etc... Every day he woke up in a world without hope, where joy ceased to exist.

"Did he die? It's impossible Gohan is much stronger than any of us" Goku spoke looking at his son and Trunks was perplexed.

"S-Stronger than you?"

"Of course, after all he was the one who defeated Frieza" Goku replied stroking his little boy's hair and Trunks' eyes widened.

"Frieza?! Aren't you supposed to defeat him?" Trunks asked quite perplexed.

"Me? No, no. Frieza finished me and my brother, and Gohan turned into a Super Saiyan" Goku pointed out with a big smile.

Trunks put both hands to his head and took several steps back, sitting on a nearby rock. His mind was a mess.

"What's the matter with you, Trunks?" Goku asked.

"I don't understand, at this time things have happened that never happened where I come from" answered the boy, extremely confused.

Gohan walked up to him and put a hand on his shoulder smiling. "Is it okay if we tell you what we've been through here?"

Trunks nodded, since that would make him understand everything better. So, Gohan sat next to him to tell him everything that happened since Raditz.

First of all, that Gohan killed him preventing Goku's death. And that he went to train with King Kai while he went with Kami-sama.

There he trained with Piccolo and the warriors for the battle against the Saiyans, but before that Gohan resurrected Raditz, to have more support.

Gohan defeated Nappa and fought against Vegeta until the arrival of his father. Thanks to that and Piccolo's sacrifice, they defeated the Saiyans.

They then left for Namek, but not before learning the Kaio-ken. Gohan left only while Goku and Raditz left a few days later.

Once there, Gohan used the Dragon Balls, resurrected Piccolo and brought the Namekians to Earth. Soon after, Goku and Raditz arrived.

While they were fighting Ginyu, Gohan challenged Frieza but lost. And on Earth, the warriors fought against Cold and his special forces.

Piccolo merged with Kami to defeat Cold and on Namek Frieza managed to survive a Spirit Bomb, and killed Goku and his brother.

That unleashed a huge fury in Gohan and transforming into a Super Saiyan he defeated Frieza, leaving for Yadrat the next day.

"And while I was in Yadrat Frieza's brother showed up, but my dad transformed and defeated him" added Gohan with a smile.

"Yeah, that's what happened…wait, how do you know about Cooler?" Goku asked somewhat surprised.

"I felt the battle from there, it was going to come but when you transformed I knew you would win" Gohan replied and Goku stroked his hair.

"Wow…" Trunks didn't know what to say.

He knew that this time was different but he never imagined that it was so different. But now he understood a lot of things, and the pieces already fell into place.

'That explains why Raditz and Nappa are alive, my dad got a power supplement just like Piccolo, but Gohan…' Trunks inquired.

He had noted that Gohan was the lynchpin of many things. In part, he was happy to know how much his master had achieved in this time.

But he was also puzzling, why didn't that happen in his future? If Gohan did so much, why wasn't the known story similar to this?

"So…everything changed from the moment you started training?" Trunks asked looking at Gohan, who nodded listening to him.

He knew that Trunks was digging, so he would be careful not to give anything away. But the differences between each time were undeniable.

"That's right! Gohan asked me to train him when he was little. That has been very good for us" added Goku, "Besides, he is a very intelligent boy"

"I understand! Gohan's decision changed the future and that's why there are so many differences with my time" Trunks blurted out his small hypothesis.

"What do you mean?" Goku asked.

"You see, Chi-Chi was never supposed to tolerate Gohan training with you, but that didn't happen here from what I see" commented the young man from the future.

"Well... Chi-Chi didn't accept it at first but Gohan convinced her" Goku said scratching the back of his neck.

"Oh…" Trunks murmured thoughtfully, and decided to also tell what he lived through in his time from the arrival of Raditz to the fight on Namek.

Goku was extremely surprised because the events were different from what he knew, and Gohan feigned surprise again when he learned this.

"Mm.. That would have happened if Gohan hadn't trained. Well, I assure you we will train to defeat those androids" Goku uttered.

"Yes, it calms me a lot to know that all of you are very powerful" Trunks sighed smiling, "Uh, my mother will not believe it..."

"Your mother? Who is she?" Goku smiled.

"You know her well… she is none other than Bulma" when Trunks said this, Goku's jaw dropped until it touched the ground, it was unusual.

Elsewhere, Piccolo opened his eyes as a huge bead of sweat trickled down his head.

"Well... here is the medicine for your heart disease" Trunks held out a small bottle and Goku took it in his hands.

"And to think that I died sick without being able to fight against those lightning androids" Goku said, and smiled putting the medicine away, "Thanks Trunks!"

Trunks smiled upon hearing him. He took out a capsule from his pocket. After throwing it a few meters, the time machine with which he traveled to the past appeared.

"I'm going back to the future! And I'm going to tell my mother what happened in this time" Trunks commented.

"Send her my greetings!" Goku exclaimed.

Just as Trunks was about to get on his machine, Gohan intervened. "Wait Trunks! Don't go yet! I want to tell you something"

Trunks turned around curiously about it. "What's going on Gohan?"

"I would like to travel with you to the future... I want to face those androids that terrorize your time!" Gohan stated quite seriously.

Goku was surprised by that but smiled. Instead, Trunks was shocked. "H-how? They're too strong for you Gohan!"

"Neither the Gohan of the future nor I could do anything, even if you have trained in this time, I doubt that you will beat them" Trunks wanted to exhort him.

Gohan knew that words alone would not be enough to convince him. So he clenched his fists and crouched down exhaling air.

Flush!

"HAAAAA!" he yelled transforming into a Super Saiyan and then expelled a violent aura that pushed Goku and Trunks back greatly.

The whole place shook. Far away, the group was trying to hold on to the terrible earthquake that was causing the great power of little Gohan.

"That dwarf…how is he so powerful?!" Nappa demanded dumbfounded and Vegeta gritted his teeth, the gap between them was gigantic!

Raditz smiled eagerly to fight him and Piccolo felt annoyed that Gohan doubled his power. And the Earthlings were stunned.

"Where is the limit of his strength?!" Tien asked struggling to stay on his feet, as did his friends Yamcha and Krillin.

'It far exceeds my powers and those of Future Gohan! Maybe...' Hope filled Trunks' heart at the young boy's strength.

Gohan sighed holding back his Super Saiyan aura and returned to his base state with a calm sigh. Then, he walked over to Trunks.

"What do you think Trunks? I warn you that I didn't release all my power" Gohan commented smiling and this left Trunks speechless, 'I used almost 98%'

He wanted to impress Trunks a lot, because his goal was to go to the future to defeat those androids, he had more than one method for it.

"W-well... I never thought you would be so strong, I would appreciate your help but I don't know if Mr. Goku will agree" Trunks answered looking at him.

"Of course! I can't stop Gohan's growth" replied the man quickly, "Furthermore, I'm very proud of his great power"

"And I'm proud that you're my father" Gohan reciprocated with a smile, "So, would you mind waiting a couple of days Trunks?"

"Couple of days? O-okay" Trunks nodded scratching his cheek, "Fine, I'll put the machine away"

'Maybe we can beat the androids with his help, I never thought Gohan would be so strong! I wish it had been like this in the future 'he reasoned.

Trunks released a tear of sadness as he put away the time machine and walked over to where Gohan and Goku were waiting.

"Dad, Trunks, put your hand on my shoulder, I'll show you a technique I learned" Gohan said with a big smile, "It's very impressive!"

Trunks and Goku looked at each other. And without further ado they obeyed. As soon as Gohan felt hands on his shoulders, he used Instant Transmission.

Shp!

"Aaaah!" Krillin yelped in fright as the three saiyans appeared right in the middle of the group.

"W-what? How did we move so fast?" Goku asked blinking blankly.

"You used that Instant Transmission, didn't you brat?" Vegeta looked at Gohan, who nodded smiling, "Hpmf, don't brag about that"

"Instant Transmission?" Tien inquired.

"A spiritual technique that is based on teleport to a place where you feel the Ki of a person" explained Gohan perfectly.

"I'd like to learn it Gohan!" Goku's eyes sparkled like a small child's.

"Sure dad!" Gohan said shaking his head, "I also learned other techniques on that planet"

"I understand everything, that's why you wear such strange clothes" commented Krillin containing his laughter.

"Don't waste your time fools! There's something important that everyone should know" Piccolo intervened looking at Trunks, who sweated.

"D-Did you hear everything?"

"These ears are not for decoration" Piccolo grumbled looking at Trunks, "You don't need to tell them everything, you know what I mean"

Trunks nodded. He told them about the android threat. Of course, he left out his name and that he was Vegeta and Bulma's son so as not to complicate anything.

"A-Androids? Uh, looks like we really can't rest" Krillin sighed depressed.

"You rest if you want bald dwarf, I'll be the one to defeat those androids" Vegeta smiled quite enthusiastically and Trunks analyzed him.

'Mom was right, he really is a proud warrior' thought the young man looking at his father.

"Hpmf, I agree with Vegeta, that junk can't beat us saiyans" Raditz said smiling proudly.

"It will be exciting to fight against them! I will train hard these three years!" Goku clenched his knuckles full of enormous emotion.

'The Saiyan race is incredible, but I will also continue to train hard!' thought Tien motivated by everything that was coming.

Gohan smiled looking at his friends, he was happy to be back. But suddenly, the totally blue sky began to darken.

"What's wrong? Why did it get dark?" Trunks asked looking at his watch, since there were still about two hours until sunset.

Goku looked at the sky seriously, and then shared a look with Gohan and Piccolo. They had a bad feeling about that.
