The day of the king's chariot's arrival dawned with an oppressive silence hanging over the village. The atmosphere was tense, the villagers' usual routines carried out with an air of resignation. Liora, dressed in a traditional wedding dress, was a vision of solemn beauty. The white cloth veil draped over her head added an ethereal quality, but her eyes were filled with a mixture of fear and determination.

Zilong stood in the distance, his back against a wall, watching the proceedings with a steely gaze. His light blue hair fluttered slightly in the breeze, and his dark blue eyes were sharp and focused. He had spent the previous night meditating, drawing strength from the Elysium essence, readying himself for whatever might come.

If their plan went smoothly there would be no problem, however...

Zilong eyes flashed with a glint of coldness and killing intent but swiftly hid it

The village head stood at the entrance of the village, speaking in hushed tones with the king's guards. The guards were imposing figures, clad in armor that gleamed in the morning light, their expressions stern and unyielding. They inspected Liora briefly, nodding their approval before turning to prepare the chariot for departure.

As the guards began to lead Liora towards the chariot, Zilong stepped forward. His movement was fluid, graceful, and deliberate, drawing the attention of everyone present. He approached the guards with an air of calm authority, stopping just a few paces from them.

"I am Zilong," he announced, his voice steady and commanding. "I am here as Liora's guard. It is my duty to ensure her safety on this journey."

The guards exchanged wary glances. One of them, a tall man with a scar across his cheek, stepped forward and scrutinized Zilong. "And who granted you this authority?" he asked, suspicion evident in his tone.

Zilong met his gaze without flinching. "I have taken it upon myself to protect her. If you wish to dispute it, you may take it up with me directly."

The tension was palpable as the guard considered Zilong's words. There was a moment of silence, the village holding its collective breath. Finally, the guard nodded curtly. "Very well. But any trouble from you, and you'll answer to us."

Zilong inclined his head in acknowledgment, then turned to Liora. He gave her a reassuring nod, silently communicating his promise to protect her. Liora's eyes glimmered with gratitude and relief, though the fear still lingered.

As they approached the chariot, Zilong remained vigilant, his senses heightened. He positioned himself beside Liora, ready to react at a moment's notice. The villagers watched with a mixture of hope and apprehension, unsure of what would happen next.

The chariot, an ornate vehicle adorned with gold and crimson, waited at the edge of the village. The horses, strong and majestic, stamped their hooves impatiently. Zilong helped Liora into the chariot, ensuring she was seated comfortably before taking his place beside her.

With a crack of the reins, the chariot lurched forward, beginning its journey to the main kingdom. Zilong's heart pounded with a mix of resolve and trepidation. He knew the path ahead would be fraught with danger, but he was determined to protect Liora and see her safely through this ordeal.

As the chariot moved away from the village, Zilong cast one last glance back, seeing the worried faces of the villagers. He hoped his actions would not only safeguard Liora but also inspire the villagers to stand against the oppression they faced. The journey ahead was uncertain, but Zilong was prepared to face whatever challenges lay in their path, fueled by the strength of the Elysium essence and his unwavering resolve.

Well at least that's what they think...

The rest of the journey was a bit smooth though..

The sun was beginning to set, casting a golden hue across the vast landscape as the guards' chariot rolled along the dusty road towards the kingdom. Inside the chariot, Zilong sat in a corner, his eyes fixed on the horizon, lost in thoughts of what lay ahead. Beside him, Liora, the noblewoman who had orchestrated his journey, appeared calm, though her mind was undoubtedly racing with plans and contingencies. The guards, their faces stern and vigilant, occasionally threw wary glances in Zilong's direction, their suspicion palpable.

Zilong's heart pounded with a mix of anticipation and dread. He could feel the weight of their eyes on him, scrutinizing his every move. He knew he had to remain composed; any sign of weakness could jeopardize everything. The plan was delicate, hanging by a thread, and any misstep could unravel it completely.

He also found out the head of the guards name was Stoic.

....

The chariot came to a halt at the towering gates of the kingdom. The guards dismounted, their armor clinking with each step as they helped Liora down. Zilong followed, his feet touching the ground with a sense of finality. The grandeur of the kingdom loomed before him, its walls towering and seemingly impenetrable. His anxiety surged, but he pushed it down, steeling himself for what was to come. Sabotaging the plan was not an option; he had come too far to turn back now.

As they entered the kingdom chamber, the air grew thick with the scent of incense and the murmur of courtiers. The room was vast, with high ceilings adorned with intricate frescoes. At the far end, the king sat on his throne, his presence commanding and regal. Zilong's steps faltered for a moment as he took in the scene, but he quickly regained his composure.

The king sat on his throne, an imposing figure that commanded the attention of everyone in the chamber. His golden silk robes shimmered in the dim light, woven with intricate patterns that seemed to tell stories of old. His blonde hair, meticulously groomed, fell in waves around his shoulders, framing a face that was both regal and unnervingly intense.

His piercing blue eyes were the most striking feature, seeming to see through to the very soul of anyone who dared meet his gaze. They glimmered with a cold, calculating intelligence, the eyes of a man who had seen and survived countless intrigues and battles. Despite the opulence of his attire, there was an aura of raw power about him, an unsettling presence that spoke of something otherworldly.

To the courtiers, he was more than a king; he was a powerful abomination, a being whose very essence radiated strength and authority. His presence filled the room, making even the bravest of knights feel a twinge of unease. It was said that his lineage was touched by the divine or perhaps something darker, a mix of human and something far more formidable.

He approached the throne and knelt, his head bowed in respect. "Your Majesty," he began, his voice steady despite the turmoil within, "I beg of you to grant me the honor of becoming a knight in your service."

The chamber fell silent. Courtiers exchanged shocked glances, their expressions a mix of outrage and disbelief. Whispers filled the air, questioning the audacity of this unknown young man. Zilong felt the weight of their judgment but kept his face calm and resolute.

'if this fails.. its an ultimate disgrace to my noble stature'... Zilong thought, his head bowed down in front of the king, not daring to look him eye to eye.

The king regarded Zilong with a piercing gaze, his eyes filled with curiosity and a hint of amusement. "You are bold, young man," he said, his voice echoing through the chamber. "But boldness alone does not make a knight. You must prove yourself worthy."

Zilong nodded, his determination unwavering. "I am prepared to do whatever it takes, Your Majesty.", 'i hope..' zilong thought.

Liora, standing nearby, watched the scene unfold with a mixture of anxiety and intrigue. This was not part of the plan they had meticulously crafted. She wondered if Zilong's plea was a desperate improvisation or a calculated risk. Either way, the outcome would determine their fate.

The king leaned back on his throne, a thoughtful expression on his face. "Very well," he said after a moment. "You shall have your chance. Prove your worth, and you may earn your place among my knights."

The tension in the chamber eased slightly as the courtiers settled back, eager to see how this audacious request would play out. Zilong rose to his feet, his heart racing with a newfound resolve. The path ahead was uncertain, but he knew he had to seize this opportunity. He glanced at Liora, who gave him a slight nod, her eyes reflecting both concern and encouragement.

As he leaned back on his throne, the light caught the gold threads of his robe, creating an almost halo-like effect around him. His fingers, adorned with heavy rings, drummed lightly on the armrest, a small gesture that belied the immense power he wielded. Here was a king who ruled not just with the authority of his crown, but with an innate power that seemed to pulse beneath his skin.

In the presence of such a figure, Zilong felt the full weight of his challenge. Yet, he also felt a surge of determination. To win the favor of such a king would be to prove himself beyond doubt, to rise above the ordinary and step into the realm of legends.
