The Proposal

Hiccup

I've been wanting to propose for a long time, but never knew how to. I loved Astrid with her long golden hair, big blue eyes, her fearlessness and her kindness. So I decided to talk to mom.

"Hey mom. I want to propose to Astrid but I don't know how to."

"Tell her your true feelings, and just be you."

Thats when I got an idea. I would invite her to hang out at the cliff, then I would propose. I was going to make her a ring too.

I was at hanging out with Gobber as he helped me shape the ring I wanted. It was a leather ring, with Stormfly scales on it. I took a deep breath. Now I was on my way to propose.

I sat down at the cliff me and Hiccup usually hang out at. I stared out into the distance as I waited. "I miss you Stormfly." I whispered as I blew a kiss into the direction of the Hidden World, with tears in my eyes.

"She was a good girl." I turn and see Hiccup behind me.

"How long have you been standing there?" I asked, stunned.

"Only a few minutes." he responded. "I didn't know the fearless Astrid cried."

I punched him lightly as he sat down next to me. He had a nervous look on his face, but I acted like I didn't notice. We sat there, awkward silence taking over the moment.

"Um, Astrid, I uh, can we talk?" Hiccup eventually stutters. I shake my head nervously.

"Astrid, I can't imagine a life without you. You are beautiful and brave. You act like you are all tough, but when someone gets to know you, you are a complete softie. You've always been there for me, and I always want to be there for you. I love you, more than you could imagine. Will you marry me?"

I sat there in shock, getting tears in my eyes. "Yes!" I cried as I jumped into his arms. We kiss passionately, and once we separate he slips a leather band on my hand. It had Stormfly scales on it.

"I love it." I whisper to Hiccup. He hugs me. I lay my head in the crook of his shoulder, and Hiccup kisses my head.

I lay there, knowing soon I would be marrying the love of my life.

Soon I would be a Haddock.
