HP: god of potions

This is the story of a soul reincarnated into the body of a first-year student attending Hogwarts, without any knowledge of the world(s) he's in. Follow his sleepless journey across the Harry Potter universe, where his single goal is to gather materials and become a god through his potion system. However, this isn't just any ordinary universe—it's an amalgamation of many. Join Gray Knight as he embarks on his quest to create the perfect potion, uncover who disrupted what should have been an easy journey, and evade the hunter chasing him. --- Warning! English isn't my first or second language, but I'll try to write something you can read and understand. This story revolves around potion-making and the search for ingredients. As a wise dwarf once said, alchemy is about gathering materials, so there will be monster fights and hunting. In fact, if you have an ingredient Gray needs, you're done for! As for romance, let me be honest—I don't know the Harry Potter universe very well. I've watched all the movies and am rewatching them while writing this fanfic, but I won't know obscure characters like Tonks. Who the hell is Tonks? I still don’t know! This makes romance tricky, but I'll try to find the most beautiful girl in this or other universes for Gray. Still, Gray’s first love will always be his gold coins. NO HAREM.

Sorting Hat Ceremony(chapter 1)

Chapter 1

It was a surprisingly stormy night at Hogsmeade station, and the train whistled as it pulled in. Hagrid, holding a lantern, walked along the side aisle as people in robes poured out. "Right, then! First years! This way, please! Come on, now, don't be shy! Hurry up!" he called, as many first-year students lined up, among them was a young man, eleven years of age, like all the other first year, unlike many other first-year students, he seemed dazed and confused as many foreign memories cemented themselves in his mind. meanwhile, Harry and Ron, now in their robes, approached him. "Hello, Harry," Hagrid greeted. "Hey, Hagrid," Harry replied, while Ron could only manage a stunned, "Whoa!" Hagrid led the way, saying, "This way to the boats! Come on, now, follow me."

A large number of boats glided across a vast lake, and up ahead, the enormous Hogwarts Castle appeared, its towering form awe-inspiring. "Wicked," Ron whispered, marveling at the sight. They soon arrived at the castle, and the first-year students climbed up the staircase. At the top, Professor McGonagall stood waiting, tapping her fingers on the stone railing. "Welcome to Hogwarts," she began, explaining that before they could join their classmates, they must be sorted into houses. As she spoke, Neville Longbottom suddenly jumped forward. "Trevor!" he cried, grabbing his toad, to which McGonagall responded with a stern look.

After McGonagall left, Draco Malfoy made his presence known, his voice filled with arrogance. "It's true then, what they're saying on the train. Harry Potter has come to Hogwarts," he said, introducing his friends Crabbe and Goyle before adding, "And I'm Malfoy. Draco Malfoy." Ron snickered, but Draco quickly cut him down, "Think my name's funny, do you? You must be a Weasley." He then turned to Harry with an offer, "You don't want to go making friends with the wrong sort. I can help you there." Harry, unimpressed, responded, "I think I can tell the wrong sort for myself, thanks." Just then, McGonagall returned, signaling it was time to begin the Sorting.

The first years were led through two large doors into the Great Hall, where floating candles illuminated four long tables filled with students. Hermione leaned over and whispered, "It's not real, the ceiling. It's just bewitched to look like the night sky. I read about it in Hogwarts: A History." McGonagall had them wait as Dumbledore stood up to give a few start-of-term notices. "The Dark Forest is strictly forbidden to all students, and the third-floor corridor on the right-hand side is out of bounds to anyone who does not wish to die a most painful death," he announced, his tone serious. Once he sat, McGonagall began calling names, starting with Hermione Granger.

Hermione muttered nervously to herself, "Oh, no. Okay, relax." She sat down, and the Sorting Hat barely hesitated before announcing, "Gryffindor!" The students cheered as Hermione smiled in relief. Draco Malfoy was next, and the hat immediately declared, "Slytherin!" Ron turned to Harry and whispered, "There isn't a witch or wizard who went bad who wasn't in Slytherin." Next was Susan Bones, who went to Hufflepuff. As Harry waited, he noticed a pale, greasy-haired man glaring at him. "Ahh!" he gasped, clutching his scar in pain. Ron, concerned, asked, "Harry, what is it?" but Harry brushed it off, "Nothing, I'm fine."

it was Ron's turn. The Sorting Hat laughed, "Another Weasley. I know just what to do with you. Gryffindor!" Ron sighed in relief as the Gryffindor table cheered. Then came the moment everyone had been waiting for—Harry Potter. As silence filled the hall, Harry walked to the stool, and the Sorting Hat was placed on his head. "Hmm... difficult, very difficult," the hat murmured, noting Harry's courage and potential. But when it suggested Slytherin, Harry whispered desperately, "Not Slytherin, not Slytherin!" The hat paused, then agreed, "Well, if you're sure. Better be... GRYFFINDOR!" Cheers erupted as Harry joined the Gryffindor table, where Fred and George were chanting, "We got Potter! We got Potter!" Dumbledore, watching from the main table, raised his goblet with a slight wave, congratulating Harry.

"Gray Knight," McGonagall called as another student stepped toward the Sorting Hat. The student was a young man with extremely pale skin and colorless dark eyes. He had dark circles around his eyes as if he hadn't slept for a while. Gray then sat down on the chair as the Sorting Hat was placed on him. "Hmm," the hat pondered, as if searching for something. "Interesting, difficult as well. Hungry for knowledge, calm and collected, nonchalant even. Ravenclaw would suit you well, but..." the hat stretched out as if it was still searching for something. "Brave, very brave, almost idiotic. You have no concept of fear, do you?" the hat chuckled before yelling, "Gryffindor!" Cheers erupted at the Gryffindor table as Gray sat on the edge of his seat.

While everyone else was busy watching the rest of the Sorting Hat ceremony, Gray Knight, who had just reincarnated into the body of the original Gray Knight, was looking at a floating screen in front of him.

[ Name: Gray ]

[ Mana: 100/100 ]

[ Skill:

Potion-Creation: You can create a potion using two or more materials as long as they can harmoniously blend together. Any potion created using the potion creation skill has a 1% chance of granting a permanent effect. There is a 50% chance of failure when this skill is used. Cost: 1 MPM Lv.1 (0%) ]

"MPM means mana per minute, so I have 100 minutes to create a potion." That is right; as a champion of Goldie, which Gray Knight was, he had a system called the Potion System that allowed him to create potions. And since the world he was in was a world of magic, he was in the perfect universe. All he had to do was avoid a guy named Voldemort. He was tasked with growing stronger by crafting a god-grade potion and ascending to godhood, but before he could do that, he first had to level up. The higher his potion creation level, the higher the grade of potion he could create. "It's a good thing that I have a talent for magic in this universe so that I can actually become a powerful wizard with the aid of my future potions," the answer was obvious.

"And the fact that this school also teaches Herbology and Potioneering," he said with a smile. This was akin to someone giving him a pillow when he was falling asleep. "However, I have to study. I have to study all the potions that are being taught this year and next year, as well as spells," he pondered. "The good thing is that I can learn many spells that aren't being taught in my year using my own time. Of course, certain spells have restrictions placed on them, like the Apparition spell, which not only requires a license but also to be at the age of 18 or something," he thought, remembering what the previous Gray had read.

A/N: Well, we're back here again! For those returning, welcome back, and for the new ones, I'm Abali, your still-intern author. Any criticism is welcome, but please keep it constructive, okay? Don't just hate—otherwise, I might place a rare and precious ingredient that Gray needs under your pillow(if you sleep without any pillow then, i am sorry satan) and you may not find your head attached to your shoulders anymore! Anyway, enjoy!

ps: there is a chance that his potions have permanent affect, i am not making that mistake again.
