The sergeant and the problem

When I saw that several people in warm military clothing arrived, I stood up lazily.

There were 6 people, 3 men and 3 women, and one of the women was in front, she seemed to be the boss.

I don't remember how the hierarchy of the military works so I have no idea what rank she has, I can only say that she is the boss.

When she arrived, the woman looked at me for any trace of nervousness or lies.

Now that I look at her closely, she seems to be a little older than me and she must be about 5,8 feet tall, she has black hair, brown eyes, white skin and American features, and like I said before she is wearing warm military clothes.

The rest of the people have nothing remarkable, except for one of the male soldiers, which is a blond with green eyes, who seems to be Captain America.

"Hey citizen, did you say you're a mechanical engineer?" said the woman looking for any lie.

"That's right, my name is Ken River, nice to meet you" I said with a respectful tone.

The woman looked at me for a few seconds and then nodded.

"Pardon the lack of answers Engineer Ken, my name is Emma and I am the sergeant of this platoon" Emma said respectfully as well.

"A pleasure, she is Halley is something like my daughter" I said while pointing to Halley behind me.

Hearing that, Halley's eyes gleamed with happiness.

The sergeant quickly understood and continued with her explanation.

"The thing is, we have a problem with one of the generators at the city's power plant and all the available engineers are in Montana doing maintenance, so we could use your help" Emma said professionally.

"I see, I don't mind helping, but I wish Halley was safe while I'm gone" I said with concern.

"No problem, we will leave her in a safe area of ​​the camp with a trusted guard while you help us with the problem" said Emma with understanding.

"Thank you very much" I said with a grateful smile.

"When should we leave?" I asked curiously.

"After lunch, the earlier the better" Emma said in a serious tone.

"Ok, is there a place where I can make lunch?" I asked in a calm tone.

"You can go to one of the empty tents that we reserve for important personnel, it has everything you need and they are quite safe" Emma said calmly.

"Thank you very much sergeant" I said with a smile.

"Come on Halley, let's eat" I said as I took Halley's hand.

"Okay!" Halley said very happily.

After making lunch and resting for a while, the sergeant said it's time to go.

"Well Halley, I'm going, I don't know how long it will take me to fix this problem, so be a nice girl and behave" I said as I crouched in front of Halley.

"Mr. Ken, I want to go" Halley said with puppy dog ​​eyes.

"Nope, the trip will probably be dangerous so you'll be safer here" I said as I patted her on the head.

"Mr. Ken, if the trip is dangerous, you shouldn't go" Halley said with concern.

"I wouldn't, but apparently it's a serious problem, so I have no choice" -Ken.

"Mr. Ken, be careful" Halley said as she cried a little.

"Don't be silly Halley, I told you that I am immortal until you are happy without me, right?" I said for sure.

Halley held me for a few minutes, then reluctantly released me.

"Well remember what I told you, if someone other than me or the guard comes in, what do you do?" I asked curiously.

"I leave him without children sir!" Halley said in a military pose.

"That's my girl" I said proudly as I got up to leave.

As I left, I looked at the guard next to the entrance, nodded seriously and went to where the sergeant told me.

Apparently there is some kind of giant bonfire in the center of the camp, so I doubt it is very difficult to find.

Upon arrival I could see the sergeant and her platoon waiting at the bonfire.

"I'm here, sorry for the delay" I said with a bit of regret.

"No problem engineer, we just waited a few minutes" said Emma calmly.

"By the way I have a question, can I carry weapons?" I asked curiously.

"Do you know how to use them?" Emma said a little surprised.

"I know how not to shoot myself so I'd say yes" I said jokingly.

"Ok, in that store there are weapons and you should wear military clothing to avoid any damage" Emma said seriously as she pointed to a rather large gray store.

"The trip will take about 3 hours walking, so be prepared" -Emma.

"Ok, I'll just take the clothes, I prefer the weapon I've used all this time" -Ken.

After entering the store and changing my clothes to one similar to the sergeant's (which is a military coat, vest, tactical pants, and military boots), I went to my car and looked for the Weekend, the bat, and my phone, along with the headphones.

I can already see where this is going, that place where the power plant is must be infested with zombies because of the noise it makes, and not having electricity can cause a big problem in the future.
