Betrayal Part - 05

Right after Hiroki's speech ended and the communication line was cut off. everyone started to return to their own station. Sam walked toward Hiroki and Misaki.

" Brother what was that about?" Sam.

"What do you mean Sam?" Hiroki.

"You know what I mean, I'm talking about the speech you just gave." Sam.

"Aaah that, you know I really wanted to expose them directly but, I didn't, or rather couldn't at the moment we are still not powerful enough to oppose them directly." Hiroki.

"That's precisely the reason you should not have done that so openly excluding them from us meant making them into our enemy." Sam.

"Sam why do you think I am openly excluding them? I just stated a fact, they were never a part of our team they just wanted to hitch a ride and I gave them one. So what is the problem in stating the truth? Besides I do not want them to take credit for anything we did. And my people will make sure of it while we are gone. And I never said anything that would make them into our enemy." Hiroki.

"But still, it will affect the overall atmosphere of the ship." Sam.

"It will not. They will stay in their quarter and we will do our job, and when we reach we will leave them to Space X." Hiroki.

"But.." Sam.

"Sam drop it. What he said is absolutely correct. and you should know even though we are not enemies we are not actually friends either, so leave it at that." Misaki.

"OK what you say." Sam shrugged his shoulder and left.

"Don't mid him too much." Misaki.

"It's not that, it's just he is a good captain and researcher, but a very bad businessman. Oh well let's check Shiro's condition then we can begin the launch sequence." Hiroki.

"OK let's go then." Misaki.

Both of them left toward the room Shiro's and their pods are in.

In another location Sam went toward Melinda who was directing scientific teams from all over the world to their assigned place.

"Mel why didn't you come to meet Shiro?" Sam.

"Sam I was busy, OK?" Melinda.

"That's no excuse, he is still your nephew, you should have..."Sam.

"OK stop, it's not like he is dead or anything. I will meet him when he wakes up. And I was reaaally BUSY, now leave me alone please and let me do my job." Melinda.

"Sigh fine." Sam leaves and went toward the bridge to do the final checking.

In another room behind the bridge there were three pods, one of the pod was slimmer than the others and Shiro was lying into the pod filled with blue liquid. The pod was not laid down it was slanted. Only it's base was attached to the floor.

"Alright the base is connected properly, let's set it down." Misaki pressed some buttons and the pod automatically lay flat onto the base station.

"Everything is normall, and well within acceptable range." Hiroki.

"That's good, see you in space son." MIsaki.

"Let's go, it is time to launch."Hiroki.

They both looked at Shiro one last time and left for the bridge.

In the bridge (The bridge is similar to majestic prince's main ship's but still a bit larger).

Hiroki and Misaki took their seats on the both sides of the captain's ship.

"Report". Sam.

"Engineering team all ok." Kiyomi. Replied the crew sitting at the front left console.

"Cargo hold everything's secured'. Kazuto. Replied the crew sitting at the front right console.

"All other department has given the green signal. We are good to go." Kiyomi.

"All right. All personnel this is your captain speaking. Everyone should take their designated seat and secure yourselves. We will shortly begin our journey." Sam said over the ship wide comm channel.

"The ship has been mounted on the catapult securely. Boosters are ready to go. We can begin anytime, captain." Replied Kiyomi.

"Start catapulting the ship." Sam.

"Catapult starting." Kazuto.

At Sam's command the catapult system started and began to bring Aurora to the maximum speed it's capable of.

"Captain, we will soon reach the acceleration limit of the catapult." Kiyomi.

"Begin the countdown for the boosters." Sam ordered.

"Igniting, beginning countdown 10, 9, 8 , . . . . . 4, 3, 2, 1, 0." Kazuto began the countdown.

"Blast off." At Sam's order the rockets ignited.

At Sam's order the first stage booster ignited and accelerated Aurora.

"Disengaging first stage boosters and igniting the second stage boosters." Kazuto.

After the second stage booster was ignited the ship almost reached the end of the catapult.

"Release the clamps." Sam.

"Releasing the clamps." Kazuto.

With the help of the second booster Aurora soon left the catapult.

"Disengaging the second stage boosters. Complete. Igniting the third stage boosters." Kazuto.

The largest boosters of Aurora ignited and pushed it out of Earth's atmosphere.

"Entered the Exosphere. Disengaging the boosters. Stabilizing the ship, Complete. Captain we have reached the Exosphere aka satellite orbit of Earth." Kazuto

"All right. All personnel this is your captain speaking. We have successfully reached the Exosphere Everyone should stay on their designate seat and secure themselves properly, don't move around yet, if you have anything floating around you please secure it. " Sam said over the ship wide COMM channel.

"Take us out of Earth's orbit." Sam.

"Yes sir." Kazuto.

"All personnel are secured to their seats." Kiyomi.

"Engaging ship thrusters at maximum capacity." Kazuto.

"We are out of Earth's satellite orbit. We are ready to go toward Mars when you are captain." Kazuto.

"Both drives are functioning perfectly and are stable, We are good to go." Kiyomi.

"All personnel we will leave toward Mars now, and you are to stay at your current position until further notice. Brace for sudden acceleration." Sam.

"Do it." Sam commanded.

"Yes captain. All system online. Deploying shields over all the windows and glass panels. Initiating launch protocol. Taking the bridge into the launch position" Kiyomi. The bridge starts to descend and all the windows are closed with the metal cover. Holographic displays all over starts to light up.

"Setting coordinates for Mars. Taking the ship into position. Positioning complete. Shutting down secondary thrusters. Impulse drives are online. Engaging primary assistive thrusters. Impulse drive at ten percent. twenty percent, thirty percent. forty percent, fifty percent, sixty percent, seventy percent, eighty percent, ninety percent, hundred percent, impulse drive fully operational and ready to go. Captain?" Kazuto.

"All right, begin the countdown." Sam.

"Beginning countdown, five. four, three, two, one and BLAST OFF". Kazuto. The ship suddenly accelerated.

"Engage inertia dampener." Sam.

"Engaging inertia dampener." Kiyomi.

"Hoo that was some intense Gs. What's our status?" Sam.

"All system are performing perfectly and we are in stable speed. There is no problem with the engines or the ship." Kiyomi.

"All personnel, this is your captain speaking, we have started our journey towards Mars. You are free to move now. Everyone should do a final check in their related departments. and get ready for cryo sleep, as soon as possible." Sam.

"You guys too prepare. The ship's AI will take care of the rest." Sam.

"Let's go and make sure that everyone got in their pods." Hiroki.

"Sure." Misaki.

After they made sure that everyone went inside their pods Misaki and Hiroki went to their two pods besides Shiro.

"Minerva wake us up if anything abnormal happens to Shiro." Misaki.

"And keep yourself hidden as you are not yet fully integrated into the ship's system." Hiroki.

"As you wish doctor." Minerva.

"Then take care of things while we are out, and good night for now." MIsaki.

"Good night, both of you, have a nice sleep." Minerva.

"Good night." Hiroki.

The room returned to silent as soon as both of them entered their sleep.
