Hiccups Leaves

Chapter 1

Book 1

This story starts the day before the kill ring scene.

Hiccup Pov:

  It was the middle of the day and I had just finished dragon training winning the final exam and I was heading back to my Hut when I Heard my father and others inside talking about the heirs and they said. "Stoick you know that hiccup isn't chief material, it is time to announce that you make Snotlout your heir. I know I was going to anyway, plus I can see hiccup doesn't have the Heart for it." I cant stand it any more so I knock HARD and I hear. "Hide, Come in." I go in. 

  "Hello Hiccup. Hi dad." I say and I figure I might as well say something to put some confidence that I can become chief in him. "So I was thinking since I'm not that great at, well being your heir, I decided that I should go on a trip to become better chief material or to a school to become better chief material and how to survive." I say as I sit down seeing the hiding people with surprised looks on their faces.

  "I see though may I ask why now, you have the final exam tomorrow and that is pretty tough and I don't see a reason why to go so soon." he says.

  I say this as I start to go pack and leave to tell toothless. "Well judging by what the people hiding were saying before I came in and also because I have never hurt a dragon in training before." As I say this they get the surprised looks and come out of hiding as Stoick looks upset. "You can give the exam to Astrid since she was adamant about wanting it and I know I wont win so if you don't mind I have stuff to do." I say as I head up the stairs and they start talking again.

  I head up to my room and pack my clothes and dragon riding suit along with some stuff that I will be needing and giving to people. I head out as I hear them talking about it being a good idea. I go to the blacksmith and make stuff for my friends while Astrid is spying on me for some reason. I make Tuffnut a Mace, Ruffnut a Spear, Fishlegs Some Cards with dragon info, Snotlout a Sword, Gobber a few designs to work on for fun, My father a New Warhammer, Astrid a new axe and a handle with the top and bottom topped off with a NightFury scale each.

  I pack up my sketches and other stuff for working on Toothless's saddle and other stuff and by this time it is 18:00 and on my way my father calls me over and I ask. "What."

  "I have thought about what you said and I will send you to Heir training school in 3 months since that is when it starts." He says.

  "Well then until then I will try surviving on my own to see how I can handle myself on my own. It will be good Practice for School." I say so I have time to work with toothless.

  "Ok"

  "Well then I have stuff to do and I will be seeing you in 3 months, after I leave tomorrow morning." I say hoping that he will not bother me about it and just give Astrid the final exam since she wanted it and I know she is listening.

  "But don't you want to take the test, you are doing so great, unless Astrid is pressuring you." He says as I pass and I don't stop and just say. "No she is not Pressuring me and also I don't want to take the test as I said before. I want to survive on my own and see how it goes. I will be leaving tomorrow morning so I will say goodbye tomorrow." I say as I go to toothless to drop off my stuff and as I leave he says. "Ok"

  I leave as Astrid follows me and I decide to make a run for it hoping I lose her. Some time passes and I finally make it to the cove and I say to toothless as I drop off some stuff. "We are going on a bit of a vacation bud so yeah." And as I am fiddling with some of the stuff I hear something.

  What I hear is Astrid saying "NightFury Get Dow—!" The last part was cut off by toothless shooting behind me at Astrid and she is knocked Unconscious. I set her up against a rock and talk to toothless, at this time it is 21:00 and there is no light and we decide to take her home. after that toothless will wait here so that I can put him under the deck of the boat, so I can take him on my 2 and a half month trip.

  We take Astrid home and put her in bed through the window in her room. We then go and drop off everybody's gifts at their house's. We go back to the cove and I drop off toothless, and then I go back home and sleep.

  I wake up at 5:00, everybody else in my class except Astrid will wake up at 6:30 and Astrid due to the blast may wake up later and that will be a relief. The Gifts I put under there deck so I can tell them to go look there when I leave. I told my father before I went to bed that I would put all my stuff below deck of the ship at 6:00. Which was actually 5:45 since he wakes at 6:30 and will try to wake up earlier to try and help me which I don't want. Mainly because I want to hide toothless below deck first after everything is down there so I can hide him.

  I get everything below deck and then I get toothless below deck, go up and lock it so my father can't get in and as I leave I see him. He asks "Why didn't you wait." I respond Saying. "I didn't want to trouble you, don't worry everything I know I need is below deck. If you want to add anything put it on deck. Also this is supposed to be for me to survive on my own."

  "I know its just that I want you to be prepared." He says. I respond saying "I'm anything if not prepared, now if you will excuse me I have stuff to do." He leaves and I quickly sneak around to the forest and start to head out to where I am at the edge of it at 6:30 when I hear. "How are you alive I went to the cove where you were yesterday and saw a blastmark, Blood, and your knife in the Lake."
