Chapter 16

Hiccup Pov:

 I wake up and it is around 4:30 and no-one is awake so I think I am good to send off a letter to Thorfinn to come get my gift for Toothless. I didn't have time to get it to him but the letter has all the details he needs.

 I set out for a clearing I saw around here somewhere and I take Toothless's new gift, a mechanical tail. I leave making no sound and no trail from my knowledge.

 I get to the clearing and hide my gift for another time to keep safe. I found a Terrible Terror on my way and send my note off with him and as I am leaving I run into Mutism saying. "Oof!"

 "Why are you here Mutism." I say nervously.

 "I was watching you bury something and send off a Terrible Terror with something. What was that about." He asks me and I am clearly scared and realize I have to tell Him.

 "Just don't tell Dagur. I have something that I need to get to a friend and the only way to contact him is by using a Terrible Terror. I guess you are going to tell the Headmaster Right." I say scared for something other than my life, afraid what will happen to Toothless and Thorfinn if they are found out.

 "I am not going to tell because of my upbringing before the berserker tribe. Just don't let my tribe know I didn't have amnesia." He says and I question what he means so I respond.

 "What are you talking about?" I say because I can see where this is going. I don't tell about him, he doesn't tell about me. Although I wonder why he is doing this.

 "What were you hiding earlier though it smelled a lot like NightFury, more than the others." He says and I am startled by this. What is with his insane sense of smell.

 "It is a mechanical tail for a dragon that lost half of its tail." I say to him but he then asks. "How did it lose its tail, and don't try to lie."

 "Well it was my fault mainly, I wanted to prove myself and shot it down but when I found it I didn't have the heart. Part of my reason being here is to gather knowledge to find what made them raid us." I say and he looks surprised.

 We decide to train as we continue to talk until 6:00. At that time we decide to go our separate ways as to not let anyone find out about our secret or friendship.

 I go and get ready for the day and I have breakfast. I decide to ask Scribbler something. "What do you write about or take notes on."

 He seems surprised that I am interested. He responds saying. "Normally dragons and ancient stuff." To this I am surprised.

 "Then lets compare notes since I am also a dragon enthusiast." I say and he is a little bit surprised. We compare notes for an hour and I decide to head off to see if there is a blacksmith to work on my shield and sword.

 I walk around a bit but don't find one in the dorm section. I decide to go and find the Headmaster.

 I eventually find him working and ask. "Headmaster."

 "Yes."

 "I was wondering if I could visit the blacksmith to work on my Sword and Shield." I say wondering what he will say.

 "Sure, it will be part of some of the lessons since it was a suggestion from your blacksmith for those interested. The class will be after lunch I think but you can go to it to work now since you have experience. Also since I knew you were coming I put you in the only dorm with a blacksmith attached. It is also why Dagur and Mutism are with you." The Headmaster says.

 "Ok, I see Thanks." I say and head off wondering why he put Dagur and Mutism in my dorm. On my way I catch Dagur following me. "Can I help you Dagur?" I ask.

 "Yeah I heard you looking for the blacksmith and I wanted to see why. Also Mutism was looking to get his sword Black Light worked on." He says casually. I guess he can't get away with anything so he is being casual.

 "Ok follow me." I say and we head off to the dorms first and Dagur asks. "Why are we here?"

 "This is where the blacksmith is and it is why you and Mutism are with me. So I can repair anything we break. Normally the camps blacksmith would but they knew 3 months ago that I was coming here. I have a lot of blacksmithing experience so they added one to my dorm." I say and go around back and find the blacksmith.

 How did I not see it before. I take the key the Headmaster gave me and opened it up. I look around and start sorting stuff and then go to get our weapons and tools.

 I grab my Sword, Shield, and armor. Dagur brings all the stuff him and Mutism needs work on and it is a lot for some reason. I start of the forge and get to work.

 I finish my stuff and about half of Dagur's and Mutism's. By this time it is almost lunch so I head to the Main hall. I eat a normal lunch and when I get back I see a crowd around my dorm.

 I go up and ask. "What is all this about?" to Scribbler and he responds. "There is a rumor going around that you are repairing tools." At this I realize that Dagur told everyone.

 I try to tell them no but they won't let me so I say. "Then for every tool you want me to repair 1 Silver coin and for every armor piece 2 Silver coins." I don't need it but I know that Scribbler might.

 At first they reject saying. "But your dorm mates don't pay." At this I see reason but I also say. "I don't make them pay because I know them and they are part of my dorm." They see reason and accept.

 At this I say. "If you want it to be worked on came to me with a box of all you need repaired and talk to me. I will summarize the amount and put them in order of work. When it is done I expect the payment." From this they all run off and I realize that I am going to be doing this all week long.
