Chapter 10

Hiccup Pov:

 I hate knocking Astrid out but I don't want her to know that I am back yet. As I am going I go and do some stuff around berk while I am here.

 It is around 20:00 and I am wondering how I will tell Astrid about toothless so she can take care of him while I am at school. Then I hear a stick crack and get into defense position.

 I look around and see Astrid and decide to follow her. She ends up noticing me around 2 minutes later and throws the axe I gave to her as a gift. I catch the axe and she asks. "Who are you."

 "I thought that Thorfinn would have made that clear." I say as I jump down since he was the one that told her that I was his friend but not the description of me. I see surprise at the mention of Thorfinn though.

 "Why are you here and again who are you." She seems to want to figure me out and I can't let that happen so. "That does not matter yet but I need you to take a nap." I say.

 After I finish the sentence I take my sword and spray hideous Zippleback gas to knock her out again. I have toothless take us back to her house and I put her down on her bed.

 Since she had so much Zippleback gas in one day I leave a note on her axe by the door and leave.

 I do the chores for the next day and go back home to grab my ship. I put the last supplies on board and leave for Thorfinn's. I arrive at 16:00 and leave for the hideout to leave a note for Astrid.

 I finish the note and it says. "Astrid I know that you don't like the chores being done for you though I am trying to help out a friend of yours who will be returning shortly, Goodbye. From Ryder."

 I said the bit about the chores because Thorfinn said how much Astrid didn't like it. It is around 5 and I am about to leave when the door starts to open.

 I hide and realize that Astrid had come for something and after she comes in I slip out. She tries to follow though it is hard to follow something Pitch black.

 She reads the note but then takes it to my father so I leave another note for her on her bed saying. "I wish you hadn't told him about me, to respond put a note in the hideout. burn this and any others so they can't be traced or used against you or someone else."

 I go about the next night doing chores careful not to get found.

 I visit the hideout that night and find a note for me saying. "The reason that I told him is because you are rider and you go against our culture."

 I mean I guess she is right. So I do the chores for the next week and then I go to Thorfinn's after leaving toothless in a safe place. I say thanks to Thorfinn and put all my gear in a box that I lock so no-one finds out.

 I leave and make my return.

 As I am returning I see a small crowd of my family and friends at the docks. I arrive and go below deck and start bringing stuff up.

 No-one is helping so I say. "grab something." gesturing to the box and they start to take stuff home. I tell my father. "I am going to take my boat and leave it at Thorfinn's so it isn't taking up space.

 "Ok." he says and I take it back to Thorfinn's. When I get there he helps me take the last 2 boxes of the outfits back home.

 When we arrive I see my friends going through my stuff so I say. "What are you doing." catching them off guard.

 "Well we wanted to see what you were up to." That I can understand but they should still ask permission. I take my box along with the one Thorfinn was carrying up to my room and put them under my bed.

 I take anything with food and put them in the storehouse and the rest I put in their place around my room. As I am doing that everyone leaves but Thorfinn and Astrid and she says something to me.

 "Here is your gold and scales. Also why do you want me to keep your pet dragon a secret." She says handing me the bag from almost 3 months ago.

 "I gave you these in case you needed something or needed to trade. As for the dragon meet me at the cove tomorrow at 18:00." I say giving her back the bag and going to the Great Hall for dinner.

 She doesn't ask me anymore and I retire for the night after dinner.

 The next day we all do our chores and that takes them until 10:00 since Ryder had done them for the past few weeks. After my chores I go to the Blacksmith to help out gobber.

 When I arrive I am surprised to see Einar helping. So I ask. "how come you are helping gobber?" He doesn't seem surprised.

 "I am helping out since your father gave me the job since gobber was falling behind during a dragon attack while you weren't here." He says which I am kind of surprised since gobber has done this his entire life.

 I do blacksmithing until lunch when I go and eat. After lunch gobber has a party for me returning at the arena. He wants to see how much I have improved I think. The party lasts until 16:00 and we do what we want for an Hour.

 The guys go to dinner and I sneak off to Thorfinn's to get ready for later. I have dinner when I arrive and we talk about stuff.

 It is 17:30 so I get on Toothless and go to the cove.
