Devil Fruits and a big Event on the Horizon

For the next couple of hours Green read the Devil Fruit Encyclopedia. After the initial big surprises there was nothing more shocking coming up. Some weaknesses from different Fruits were mentioned and how about you go identifying a fruit. There was a rough idea you could get by analyzing what original fruit it was, the color and spiral designs. In the past there have been people getting the power right but at least you could differentiate if it was a Paramecia, Zoan or Logia.

He spent the next couple of weeks reading and understanding everything he could get his hands on. Aside from some regulations and laws in different nations and the one the World Government imposes he did not actually learn anything new about Devil Fruits. Of course he saw a lot of pictures of different fruits and got to read first person reports from people who ate Fruits, but there was nothing really shocking for him.

The only thing he read that was relatively new was that if an animal ate a Devil Fruit it would gain a bit of intelligence. This does not mean there were a lot of animals out there now that are a lot smarter. No, actually it is incredibly hard to find an animal who ate a Devil Fruit because in the end they would die of drowning in the first couple of weeks of getting their powers. Also marines will kill these animals on sight because they are seen as big threads especially if the animal was a carnivore.

What surprised Green the most was that he did not find anything about Devil Fruits being infused into objects. He realis ed that Vegapunk probably has not been able to do that yet. After some internal reasoning with the help of his Nanobot-System, he came up with a rough timeline of some of the new advancements of Vegapunks. Devil Fruit's infusion is probably 10 to 15 years away and the Pacifistas a good 20. Green reasons that he is probably working on the lineage factor that he extracted from Kaido to copy his Devil Fruit.

Still, despite the lack of actual new knowledge Green was nonetheless satisfied with the things he learned. It took him 2 weeks to read all the stuff about Devil Fruits. He now had roughly a couple hundred Devil Fruits pictures safed and could identify those. What he also realized was that to even get more knowledge about the Fruits, it would not be enough to travel to all the big libraries of the four seas and the Grandline to get more than he already knew. He would need to either climb high enough within the World Government or start to learn how to read the Poneglyphs.

His System actually told him that it would probably be able to crack the translation on the glyphs if he got his hands on a couple of them. The more the easier it would be and then it would be him just sitting down, while eating tons of calories.

Green also decided that he would only eat a Devil Fruit if it works well with his Nanobot-System. This already eliminated nearly all Fruits. He found multiple tales and reports about Fruits which could emanate electricity. Enel's Fruit was under them with some other once which had electricity as a by-product. From them, the one that Green can see himself eating, if he could get his hands on one, was the Mythical Zoan, Eagle-Eagle Fruit, Model: Thunderbird(A.C: Abilities form the one of HP) or Enels Rumble-Rumble Fruit. All others he would use for research.

What he found the most interesting in his readings was the way people tried to synergize their powers with each other. An example from the story would be Luffy and Mr. 3 in Impel Down trying to stall Magellan. Green found multiple Fruits which would work really well together but the one that he found the most synergies with each other were the three electricity Fruits: the Watt-Watt Fruit, the Ampere-Ampere Fruit and the Volt-Volt Fruit. The Watt-Watt Fruit enables the person to generate electricity while the Ampere-Ampere Fruit turns you into a battery. The Volt-Volt Fruit lets you decide a path the electricity will flow.

These powers are individually relatively harmless, the Volt-Volt Fruit is only a Tier 1 while the Ampere-Ampere Fruit is a low Tier 2 and the Watt-Watt Fruit is rated high Tier 2.

Green found in a journal a tale about a pirate crew centuries ago, led by Triplets which each managed to eat one of the Fruits. Alone on the battlefield they were only a minor threat where it was stated that one of these triplets had been caught nearly a dozen times. With two fighting together they were able to defeat multiple enemies in the first part of the Grandline, Paradise. All three of them together were able to fight and defeat rivaling pirate crews in the New World. At the end of their reign, all three died while being surrounded by a Yonko and his crew on the one side and 2 admirals with multiple vice admirals on the other side.

It was tried to reunite all three Fruits over the centuries but no power of the world was successful in bringing all three together. The pictures of each of those Fruits were in the Encyclopedia. Green put these three on his Devil-Fruit-Shopping-List. He knows from the story that in the underworld there is a black market for Devil Fruits so when he made money in the future he would look for the ones on his list.

Green was once again sitting in the library. This time it was not to study Devil Fruits. He was actually doing just normal homework. Like every student he also had to do mind numbing exercises that in his last life he would have forgotten the moment he finished it. The only good thing this time around doing these kinds of exercises was the help of his Nanobots. His brain power was boosted so much that he could solve 99% of problems with only one read through, while the 1 in 100 question he would need to ask the System to do langtry calculation which he was just too lazy to do on the paper. He always has to suppress an arrogant smirk when the teachers/professors tell him that he once again got a better answer than them. Some even use his papers as the solving key for the entire class.

While Green was putting the finishing touch on his essay for structural engineering about the benefit of using a material as the fountain of a high rise building as the normal material used for this, he suddenly heard something from the other table that let him snap out of his homework trans.

"System, did I understood that correctly?", he thought internally.

[Yes, Host understood correctly.]

"Ok, let me get a newspaper quickly…. ", Green murmelt under his breath as he quickly put his stuff away. He ran outside towards a stall on the campus of the Royal Academy. Quickly he found one and snatched a newspaper while throwing roughly the amount of money for the newspaper on the cash register.

There on the front page was the thing he was waiting for a while now.
