Ch. 12 Exploring the Castle.

I woke up at 5:00 in the morning as a punctual soldier for my morning routine I had never skipped a day of training and certainly wouldn't do so now I then woke up Dante and put him in my front carrier and we went out in the field.

when I reached outside I put Dante in a harness and started to run Dante liked to run with me and Grandpa so we took him during our daily run. As I was running I could also see some of the quidditch players running as well.

After the run, I did about 5 sets of Surya Namaskar, and after that. I just went to my room and got inside my suitcase, and took a quick cold shower. After that, I decided to start exploring the Castel.

On the first day of school, there were no classes as that gave time to students to get acclimated to the schools' layout and how everything kind of functions. I took this time to explore the castle with Dante and to get familiarize myself with it I also took the time to find where the Room of Requirements(ROR).

If everything was in order it should be located on the seventh floor in the left corridor of the Hogwarts castle and has a hidden entrance opposite the tapestry depicting the attempt of Barnabas the Barmy to teach trolls ballet.

And it was there I moved thinking of finding the room and passed the entrance three times, and there it was I moved inside the room and the room I wanted to practice my potion-making so that I could make my magic increasing potion and the room was big it was about 400 sq ft in size it had stone walls and had tables full of ingredients it had a table full of beakers, vials, pipettes and cauldrons of all sizes.

After I made the potions I left the room. I thought 'This room is going to come in handy.

Seeing I still had some daylight to burn I moved to the Library and low and behold I found Hermione there reading books. I decided to sit next to her and read my books.

As I sat next to her she didn't even notice me seeing as how much she was engrossed in her reading I decided not to disturb her and just sat there with Dante with a book about Runes in my hand.

After a while, she notices me and says "How long have you been sitting there?"

I replied with a thinking expression on my face "I don't know maybe about 45-50 min."

She said, "And you just sat beside me and didn't bother to announce yourself?"

I said in a playful manner "I didn't want to disturb you and seeing you read books with such conviction made me wanted to read some books as well".

She blushed a bit and said "With that silver tongue of yours you should have no doubt should have been in Slytherin"

I replied as if that statement hurt me "Hey it was an actual compliment I don't find many people my age who have such interest in books, so when I come across one I make sure to appreciate them".

We then just sat there and read various books till it was dinner time, we made a schedule to come to the library every day after our classes will be over and study with each other.

We moved to the great hall for the dinner and she went to the Gryffindor table and I sat at the Ravenclaw table I sat beside Jake and Blake they asked: "Where were you we couldn't find you anywhere?"

I said "I was just exploring the Castle"

they both said in a sad tone "Man we wanted to go to the Quidditch field with you"

I replied in a joyful manner to cheer them up "Oh don't worry lads there will be plenty of opportunities to go the field trust me."

We then just ate and moved to our dorms, the next day came I repeated the daily routine with Dante, today's first lecture was potions with Slytherin knowing how much of a queen Snape is I didn't want to be at the firing end of the cannon so I decided to wake Jake and Blake early so that we would not be late as a good mate you gotta look out for your friends.

They didn't want to go so early at first but then I told them that Snape doesn't have a good rapport with any students other than Slytherin and even with them he only liked a few, after hearing that they moved quickly.

We then moved to the Great hall there were only a few people present most of them were the quidditch players that I had met on my morning routine they were a bit confused as to why three first years work up so early.

Slowly students started to pour in and as scheduled Snape was not a minute late to the class and had started to take attendance same could not have been said about Harry and Ron though. They both were quite late and got an earful from snape.

The lesson started with the classic dialogue.

"There will be no foolish wand-waving or silly incantations in this class. As such, I don't expect many of you to appreciate the subtle science and exact art that is potion-making. However, for those select few...

Who possesses, the predisposition... I can teach you how to bewitch the mind and ensnare the senses. I can tell you how to bottle fame, brew glory, and even put a stopper in death.

Then again, maybe some of you have come to Hogwarts in possession of abilities so formidable that you feel confident enough to not pay attention!".

The banter between those two continued it was rough seeing that even Hermione got under fire the class continued normally he taught us how to make Boil cure potion, he took points from everyone but except me, I made the potion in record time with the proper method.

He looked at my potion and said: "At least not all of you are idiots who can't follow simple instructions 5 points to Ravenclaw".

[ AN:- some of you might be wondering how does snape looks well he and almost everyone of any significance look like their movie counterpart].

It was surprising for everyone to see Snape give out points instead of them. I just thought 'What kind of teacher is he? how do you expect anyone to make a potion just after reading about it?'. He then gave us Homework and we were off to Herbology.

After the potions, Hermione decided to sit next to me in this class 4 people gained some points namely Hermione, Nevil, Draco, and me. After the class, I got some tea and biscuits and then went to the library as promised.

We both sat down and studied and completed our homework, and out of nowhere, she says "Why is snape even teaching us? does he even like teaching?"

I said, "Well he is a genius in potion-making but the thing is he doesn't hate anyone he just wants to make sure that everyone in his class excels and stays safe".

She said in a frustrated manner" He certainly hates Harry though."

I replied, "Well it's because of the history among harry's father and Prof. Snape and don't get me wrong I am not defending the man he doesn't know how to teach that is for certain, but it would be a crime if we couldn't extract the knowledge from the man of his caliber."

She looked at me with a mix of suspicion and confusion and asked "How do you know about that?".

I then answered indifferently to her question and said "Oh, my teacher was also a student at Hogwarts she told me about Snape, and James came as a package". 'Obviously, Mrs. Viswakarma has not said anything about Snape, not James but it was a perfect excuse to use in most of the scenarios.'

She asked in a concerned tone"Did Snape do something to Harry's father?".

I explained to her the situation that Snape had to go through "Quite the opposite it was James who bullied Snape and the bullying from James and his friends caused him to become the man he is. The man only had one solace in his life Lily Evans and James Potter also took that away from him leading him to be as he is now."

She said in a sad tone "That's quite grim"

I said in a comforting to tone"Don't get me wrong the man is flawed but he tries to be better because of her to preserve her memories"

She said haughtily "I get it but I just don't like the guy."

"Well you don't have to like him you just need to bear with him and gain his knowledge because there is a lot to take from this man."

She pondered over it and agreed "You know what people are calling you Snape's favorite behind your back."

"What!? preposterous!, So that is why I am getting those stares from people.". She just giggled at my reaction.

After the study session with Hermione, we both went to the great hall to have supper. I then sat beside my mates and had a great conversation about Quidditch and how Blake wanted to play Quidditch and seemingly had potential as a beater.

After dinner, we just went to the common room and sat there playing chess I won some but Jake was quite good at chess he beat me multiple times.

It was getting late so we all went to our rooms I then took a long bath in my suitcase and then I came out of it sat on my bed and took out the vial and drank it and started to expend my magic at a high rate performing magic after I was spent I went to sleep.

I was deep in sleep that is when I heard "Oye wake up you dunderhead".
