Wreck-it Ralph (Part 2)

EXT. KING CANDY'S CASTLE...

Duncan and Wynnchel ride to the palace.

INT. KING CANDY'S CASTLE...

King Candy paces in front of his kart throne. Sour Bill follows, waving him with a fan lollipop. The castle doors open. Wynnchel and Duncan approach.

"Did you find her? Tell me you found her." King Candy said, urgently when Wynnchel shakes his head solemnly. "You didn't?" He laughs hopelessly. "Go...leave me."

The donuts leave. King Candy thinks, gets an idea, then storms off through the door by his throne. Sour Bill hurries after him.

INT. 'UNDERGROUND' CHAMBER...

An elevator door opens and King Candy and Sour Bill step out and walk along what looks like the insides of a wire.

King Candy approaches a large door, upon which rests a NES controller. He types in the Konami code. The door swings open. Sour Bill tightens a licorice rope around King Candy's waist.

INT. THE GAME'S CODE...

For the code savvy, it's clearly a node graph. To others, it looks like an electric spider web of glowing threads connecting an endless number of vault-like boxes.

"Oh, the code. It's the sweet lifeblood of the game." King Candy said, smiling.

The boxes are labelled with icons and text, saying everything from: 'GOBSTOPPER VALLEY' and 'CHOCOLATE RIVER' to 'TAFFYTA MUTTONFUDGE' and 'SOUR BILL'.

The physics are different here, and so King Candy floats as if in zero gravity. He drifts amongst the web, cautiously.

"Where are you? Let's see... Stadium, no. Jumbotron. Ha-ha! There it is. The winner's cup." King Candy said, double-clicking the box labeled 'WINNER'S CUP'.

The box opens. Inside floats a bunch of smaller boxes labeled 'Coin'" interconnected with threads. Amongst the boxes, one stands out. It's the Medal.

"One of these things is not like the others... It's you!" King Candy said, sliding the Medal box out of the Winner's Box and along the network of threads. "We're going to give you a nice new home."

He arrives in front of a very special box, connected with the most number of threads. It's labeled, 'KING CANDY'. He double clicks it. It opens and he slides the 'Medal' box inside. A string of ones and zeros gathers around his neck, then solidifies into The Medal of Heroes.

"Success!" King Candy said, chuckling and he tugs on the rope. "Sour Bill, I'm going out. You're in charge of the castle until I get back."

He floats back towards the door. There is a box that is off alone, with no threads attached. Its label says: 'VANELLOPE VON SCHWEETZ'.

INT/EXT. SPACE POD...

The Cy-Bug sensor is locked on the dash, scanning. There are no bugs detected. Calhoun pilots. Felix stares at her, blushing, unapologetically smitten.

"Your face is still red. You might want to hit it again with your hammer." Calhoun said, seeing Felix blushing.

"Oh, that's not blunt force trauma, ma'am. That's just the honey glow in my cheeks." Felix said, happily.

"Okay."

"Ma'am, I just got to tell you... You are one dynamite gal."

Calhoun reacts.

HERO'S DUTY...

There is a flashback of Calhoun at the gun range, letting out a round.

Brad in the cubicle next to her, turns, impressed.

"Wow, you are one dynamite gal." Brad said, smiling.

There is another flashback of Calhoun and Brad, sharing a Sunday.

"One dynamite gal." Brad said.

A third flashback of Calhoun and Brad having a flowery picnic.

"Dynamite gal." Brad said.

A fourth flashback of Brad on one knee proposing.

"Dynamite gal." Brad said.

And there is a final flashback of Calhoun and Brad's wedding.

"Dynamite..." Brad said.

The glass shatters as the Cy-Bug bursts in.

INT. SHIP — DAY - BACK TO PRESENT...

Calhoun snaps back to reality, yelling, almost livid. She banks the ship hard to the right. Felix goes tumbling. She lands the ship in the woods by the castle.

"Get out!" Calhoun yelled.

"All I said is you're a dynamite gal." Felix said, sadly.

"I said GET OUT!" Calhoun said, while Felix climbs out.

Felix turns to say something else, but the glass comes down immediately and the ship lifts off.

"Jimminy jamminy..." Felix said, distraught, and he lumbers off towards the castle.

EXT. KING CANDY'S CASTLE DOOR — SHORT TIME LATER...

Felix knocks on the castle door.

Sour Bill opens the door, "Mmmmyes?"

"I'm Fix-it Felix, Jr, sir, from the game Fix-it Felix Jr. Have you seen my friend, Ralph?" Felix asked.

"Wreck-it Ralph?" Sour Bill asked.

"Yes, yes, that's him." Felix said, happily.

"We shoulda locked him up when we had the chance."

"Locked him up?"

Sour Bill grabs a handle and pulls, "I'm not making the same mistake with you."

A trap door opens and Felix falls in. Felix screams.

(Jared's POV)

EXT. DIET COLA MOUNTAIN...

Vanellope comes running out of the secret door. Ralph and I are pushing the kart out behind her.

"Hurry, hurry! Let's go-Time's a-wastin'. Come on, Ralph, Jared! This is it. This is really happening. I almost don't believe it. I mean, I have dreamt about it for so long, and now... And now... Now I think I'm going to puke, actually. I mean, I think I might puke. You know, like a 'vurp'." Vanellope said, smiling.

"A what?" Ralph asked.

"Vomit and a burp together, and you can taste it, and it's just like rising up. Oh, this is so exciting!" Vanellope said, excitedly.

"Yeah, it is. It is exciting." I said, walking over to Vanellope.

"Am I ready to be a real racer? Ralph, Jared, what if the gamers don't like me!?" Vanellope exclaimed.

"Who wouldn't love you, Vanellope? Like, come on! They're gonna love you. Because you're the protagonist of this game. And you're a winner!"

"I'm a winner." Vanellope said, with me lifting her off the ground to hug her.

"And you're adorable!"

"I'm adorable!"

"And everyone loves an adorable winner like you, Vanellope! With your hoodie, skirt, shoes, and hair accessories."

"Yeah!" Vanellope said, laughing and hopping in her kart.

Ralph and I climb on the back.

"Okay, come on. Listen to me. If you get nervous, just keep telling yourself, 'I must win Ralph's medal or his life will be ruined'. And have fun. Got it?" Ralph asked.

"Got it." Vanellope said, as she starts driving away. "Wait. Hold on! Jared, come on, help me find it!"

Then Vanellope slams on the brakes. Ralph and I fell forward. She puts it in reverse, then stops short. Ralph and I fell off the back.

"Whoa! Hold on! Where are you going?" Ralph asked.

"I forgot something! I'll be right back! Come on, Jared!" Vanellope said, running away with me.

"Right." I said, grabbing Vanellope's hand.

"Kids." Ralph said, chuckling, and he sighs, content.

There is the sound of a kart engine nearby.

"Ralph!" King Candy said, chuckling. "There you are. Hello!"

Ralph turns to see King Candy getting out of his kart, "You!"

"I come alone, unarmed." King Candy said.

"I've had enough of you, pillow pants!" Ralph said, chasing King Candy around a giant gum drop.

"Please. Calm down! Please, look. Don't!"

"I'm gonna beat the filling out of you!"

"Aha!" King Candy said, putting on giant glasses. "You wouldn't hit a guy with glasses, would you?" Ralph grabs the glasses off of his face and knocks him on the head with them. "You hit a guy WITH glasses. That's... Well played."

Ralph grabs King Candy by the lapels, "What do you want, Candy?"

"Listen, I just want to talk to you." King Candy said, sadly.

"I'm not interested in anything you have to say." Ralph said, frowning.

"How about this? Are you interested in this?" King Candy asked, holding up the Medal of Heroes.

Shocked to see it, Ralph drops King Candy.

"My medal. How did you..." Ralph said, at a loss for words.

"It doesn't matter. It's yours! Go ahead, take it." King Candy said, chuckling.

"Whoa." Ralph said, taking the medal.

"All I ask is that you hear me out."

Ralph stares at the medal as he considers, "About what?"

"Ralph, do you know what the hardest part about being a king is? Doing what's right, no matter what." King Candy said.

"Get to the point." Ralph said.

"Point being, I need your help. Sad as it is, Vanellope cannot be allowed to race."

"Why are you people so against her?!"

"I'm not against her! I'm trying to protect her! If Vanellope wins that race..."

SUGAR RUSH...

I closed my eyes to imagine Vanellope popping up as one of the nine daily avatars.

"...she'll be added to the race roster. Then gamers can choose her as their avatar." King Candy said, in my head.

I closed my eyes to imagine a flash forward in time where Vanellope was glitching all over the track.

"And when they see her glitching and twitching and just being herself, they'll think our game is broken." King Candy said, in my head.

I kept my eyes closed to imagine a flash forward in time where the Out-of-Order gets slapped onto the Sugar Rush console.

"We'll be put out of order for good." King Candy said, in my head.

Sugar Rush's plug is pulled as King Candy's subjects rush into Game Central.

"All my subjects will be homeless. But there's one who cannot escape because she's a glitch." King Candy said, in my head.

"Help! Somebody, help! Help!" Vanellope said, worried.

"And when the game's plug is pulled..." King Candy said, in my head.

My eyes are still closed to imagine a flash forward in time where a scared Vanellope is sucked into the vortex of un-plugged oblivion.

EXT. DIET COLA MOUNTAIN...

I opened my eyes again, as I am still with Vanellope as she is making a matching gift for Ralph. But Ralph's says 'To Stink Brain', while mine says 'To Ally of Justice'.

"...she'll die with it." King Candy said.

"You don't know that will happen. The gamers could love her." Ralph said.

"And if they don't?" King Candy asked, and Ralph sits down, eyes still on his medal. "I know it's tough, but heroes have to make the tough choices, don't they? She can't race, Ralph, but she won't listen to me. So can I count on you to talk a little sense into her?" Ralph contemplates, then gives a small, pained nod. "Very good. I'll give you two some time alone."

King Candy disappears around the bend. Ralph stares at the medal. He hears Vanellope and I return. He stands, braces himself, and puts the medal in his pocket.

"We're back! Did you miss us?" Vanellope asked.

"Yeah... Uh... Can we talk for a second?" Ralph asked.

"Wait. First, kneel down."

"What? No, we really..."

"Gah! Ralph, just do it. Vanellope worked really hard on this." I said, frowning.

"Okay. So she got me a gift then, Jared." Ralph said, kneeling down.

"Jared's right. I did. Now, Ralph, close your eyes." Vanellope said, smiling.

"Vanellope..."

"For God's sake! Don't upset Vanellope! Just close your eyes!" I said, and Ralph shuts his eyes.

Vanellope ties something around Ralph's neck, "Okay. Open them up."

He looks down and sees a small, handmade candy heart on a string, on which is hand-painted the words: 'To Stink Brain.'

"'To Stinkbrain'. Gee, thanks." Ralph said, annoyed.

"Turn it over." Vanellope said, and Ralph does turn the candy heard over to see that on the back is painted the words: 'You're my Hero'. "I made it for you. Just in case we don't win. Not that I think there's even a remote chance we're not going to win."

"Yeah. And Vanellope made one for me months ago." I said, taking out my candy heart from under my hoodie to show Ralph that it says 'To Ally of Justice' on the front. And on the back, it says 'You're my Hero'. "Same colors too. We've got a matching set, Ralph."

"You made us a matching set. That's sweet of you." Ralph said, while this is killing him. "Thanks, kid. Listen..."

"Now rise, my royal chump. I've got a date with destiny." Vanellope said, as Ralph doesn't move. "Ralph, come on. Move your molasses."

"Um... I've been thinking." Ralph said.

"You thinking? That's seriously dangerous for an anti-hero." I said, rolling my eyes.

"Who cares about this stupid race anyway? Right?"

"That's not very funny, Ralph." Vanellope said, laughing a lot.

"No, I'm serious, and it was really fun to build the car and everything. But maybe, Vanellope, you shouldn't do it." Ralph said, looking at Vanellope.

"Hello? Is Ralph in there? I'd like to speak to him, please."

"Look, what I'm saying is you can't be a racer."

That gets Vanellope's attention.

"What? Why would you..." Vanellope said.

"That's because of this." I said, going down to Ralph's chest and spotting the Medal of Heroes. "He did something he shouldn't have done."

I pulled the Medal of Heroes out of Ralph's pocket.

"No! Jared! Why did you show this to Vanellope?" Ralph asked.

"Because you're an idiot! Ralph! Where did you get this?" I asked, looking at the Medal of Heroes.

"Look, I'm going to be straight with you, kids. I've been talking to King Candy." Ralph said, sadly, looking between Vanellope and I.

"King Candy?" Vanellope asked.

"Yeah."

"You sold me out? Jared wouldn't sell me out. But why did you Ralph?"

"No, I didn't... Listen. You don't understand."

"No, I understand plenty. Traitor!" Vanellope said, grabbing the medal from me and throwing it at Ralph. "Jared isn't a traitor! He's incredibly faithful to me! He believes in me. Unlike you!"

The medal hits Ralph in the face and falls to the ground. She jumps back in the kart with me jumping onto the back of the cart.

"I'm not a traitor. Listen." Ralph said.

"You're a rat! And I don't need you, I need Jared, and I can win the race with Jared's help." Vanellope said, looking at Ralph.

"But I'm trying to save your skin, kid!" Ralph said, grabbing Vanellope and picking her up out of the kart.

Vanellope glitches in anger, "Put me down! Let me go! Jared, help me!"

"No, you listen to me." Ralph said, setting Vanellope down.

Vanellope immediately makes a dash for the kart with me waiting for her. Ralph blocks her way. She struggles to get around him.

"Vanellope, do you know what's going to happen when the players see you glitching? They'll think the game's broken." Ralph said, looking at Vanellope.

"I don't care! You're a liar!" Vanellope said, angrily.

"You better care, because if your game goes out of order..."

"I'm not listening to you, Ralph! I'm only listening to Jared!"

"...you go down with the ship, little sister!"

"Get out of my way! I'm going to that race with Jared!"

"No, you're not!" Ralph said, hanging Vanellope and I by our hoods on the edge of a pointy gumdrop.

"Take us down from here, Ralph, right now!" Vanellope yelled.

"No. I'm doing this FOR YOUR OWN GOOD!" Ralph said, going over to the kart and clenches his fists.

Vanellope and I struggle to get free, but can't.

"Wait, wait, wait. No. No. No, no, no, no, no! Please, Ralph!" Vanellope said, worried.

"Ralph! Stop!" I said, while Ralph doesn't stop and he slams his fists onto the kart. "You don't know what you're doing!"

"NOOO!! RALPH, STOP IT! STOP IT! NO!" Vanellope said, as Ralph destroys the cart.

Vanellope and I breaks down crying. Then Vanellope glitches and grabs my hand and she lands on her palms and knees on the ground with me beside her. Ralph turns to Vanellope and I.

"Ralph, you really are a Bad Guy. While Jared is a really good guy, and he's an Ally of Justice." Vanellope said, heartbroken.

"Ralph, go over to your fucking game. You're done. You're absolutely done. I hope you're happy as the hero you wanted to be." I said, while Vanellope and I ran sobbing into the mountain entrance. "You wanted to be like me. You won. Now go to that penthouse!"

Ralph hangs his head. He sighs, then walks over and picks up his medal. He starts down the road alone.

(Open POV)

INT. FIX-IT FELIX JR...

Ralph rides up on the tram, wearing his medal. It's awfully quiet. All the lights are out at the Niceland Apartments, but for a single light in the Penthouse.

INT. PENTHOUSE...

The door hangs slightly open. Ralph pushes it the rest of the way and steps inside. The place looks like it's been looted.

"Hello? Anybody home? Felix? Mary?" Ralph asked.

"Well, you actually went and did it." Gene said, pouring one last martini by the bar.

"Gene? Where is everybody?" Ralph asked.

"They're gone. After Felix went to find you and then didn't come back, everyone panicked and abandoned ship."

"But--but I'm here now."

"It's too late, Ralph. Litwak's pulling our plug in the morning." Gene said, motioning towards the balcony. Ralph goes over and looks out. He sees the Out-of-Order sign taped to the console. "But, never let it be said I'm not a man of my word. The place is yours, Ralph. Enjoy."

Gene tosses Ralph the key to the Penthouse. Ralph catches them and looks at them, upset, as Gene grabs his suitcase and heads for the door.

"Gene, wait. Listen, this is not what I wanted!" Ralph said, worried.

Gene stops and turns back, "Well, what did you want, Ralph?"

"I don't know. I just..." Ralph said, letting out a sigh. "...I was just tired of living alone in the garbage."

"Well, now you can live alone in the penthouse." Gene said, leaving with his suitcase, leaving Ralph alone.

Ralph drops the key and walks onto the balcony.

EXT. PENTHOUSE BALCONY — SHORT TIME LATER...

Ralph stands there, alone, staring at the sign, which shows a sick arcade console with a thermometer in its mouth, blocking the view of the outside world. A dim perimeter of light beams through, illuminating as he frowns, lowers his head, and yanks the Medal of Heroes from his neck, disgusted, then throws it at the screen. It twinkles as it arcs across the distance.

The medal smacks against the game screen. The impact causes one corner of the tape on the Out-of-Order sign to release. The sign goes crooked. Through the gap, Ralph sees the Sugar Rush console across the way. It reminds him of the homemade medal Vanellope gave him. It's still around his neck. He takes it off and turns it to the side that says, 'You're my Hero'.

He closes his fingers around it and looks again at the console. He spots a large picture of a dark-haired, green-eyed girl on the console's side, driving King Candy's car.

"Jared, he knew. He knew it was Vanellope! That's why he said that she's the protagonist of the game." Ralph said, furrowing his brow as he realizes, it's Vanellope. "That's why he said that before saying she's a winner."

INT. SUGAR RUSH - THE BASE OF DIET COLA MOUNTAIN...

Sour Bill loads the scraps of Vanellope's kart into a candy wheelbarrow. A shadow rises over him.

"Hey, Cough Drop! Explain somethin' to me. If Vanellope was never meant to exist, then why is her picture on the side of the game console?" Ralph asked.

"Uh..." Sour Bill said, trying to make a run for it, but Ralph grabs him.

"What's goin' on in this candy-coated heart of darkness?" Ralph asked.

"Nothin'..."

"Talk!"

"No." Sour Bill said, determined.

"I'll lick you!" Ralph said, angrily.

"You wouldn't."

"Oh yeah?" Ralph asked, sticking his tongue out.

Ralph gives Sour Bill a quick lick.

Sour Bill cringes,"Ugh! It's like sandpaper!"

"Mmm, wonder how many licks it'll take to get to your center." Ralph said, smirking.

"I'll take it to my grave!" Sour Bill said, happily.

"Fair enough." Ralph said, tossing Sour Bill in his mouth.

Sour Bill screams as Ralph swishes him around.

"Ooh-hoo-hoo. They call you Sour Bill for a reason." Ralph said, puckering his lips.

Finally, Ralph pulls him out. Sour Bill squeals like stoolie.

"Had enough yet?" Ralph asked.

"Okay, I'll talk. I'll talk. I'll talk. Vanellope WAS a racer until King Candy tried to delete her code..." Sour Bill said, spilling the beans.

CODE ROOM...

There is a flashback of King Candy tearing all the connections off of Vanellope's code node and shoving it away from the web.

INT. SUGAR RUSH - THE BASE OF DIET COLA MOUNTAIN...

"Tried to delete her code? So that's why she's a glitch! Why is he doing this to her?" Ralph asked.

"I don't know." Sour Bill said.

"Suit yourself." Ralph said, threatening to eat Sour Bill again.

Sour Bill throws his arms up, "No, no, no, no, no, no! I swear, I don't know!"

CODE ROOM...

There is a flashback of King Candy floating and scooping up nodes of memory into a royal chest. He locks the chest with a pad lock.

INT. SUGAR RUSH - THE BASE OF DIET COLA MOUNTAIN...

"He literally locked up our memories and I cannot remember! Nobody can!" Sour Bill said, terrified. "But I do know this: he'll do anything to keep her from racing. Because if she crosses the finish line, the game will reset and she won't be a glitch anymore!"

"Where is she now?" Ralph asked.

"In the Fungeon with Fix-It Felix and Jared Shay. Vanellope and Jared are together in the same cell."

"Felix? Why is he in a separate cell from Vanellope and Jared?"

"I'm sorry! That's all I know, that's all I know, I swear! Now please, don't put me back in your filthy mouth again!" Sour Bill said, sobbing.

Ralph sticks Sour Bill to a lollipop tree, "Stick around."

"Yes, okay. I will, I will. Thank you." Sour Bill said.

Ralph picked up the kart pieces on his way out.

EXT. SUGAR RUSH - LICORICE FIELD...

Calhoun patrols the area. Her scanner goes off. She pulls out her gun and follows the beep.

"Come on, I know you're out there." Calhoun said, while the signal suddenly drops out and she hits the tri-quarter, frustrated. "Ugh. Saccharine-saturated nightmare!" The tri-quarter suddenly goes off, loudly. Green dots fill the device's screen. She looks around on alert. "But-- where..."

The ground gives way and she tumbles into a different area of Sugar Rush.

INT. A GIANT CAVERN...

Calhoun grabs licorice roots to keep from falling into the nest below, full of glowing Cy-Bug eggs and candy-coated Cy-Bugs traveling in and out of long caverns.

"Doomsday and Armageddon just had a baby and it is ugly!" Calhoun said, talking to herself.

INT. FELIX'S CELL - KING CANDY'S FUNGEON...

A frustrated Felix calls out the dungeon window.

"Hello? Hello? Somebody! Anybody! Please let me ouuuut!" Felix said, shaking the bars. One bar is loose. "What's he say?" He imitates Ralph. "I'm gonna wreck it!" Felix hits the bars with his hammer. They fortify, stronger. He groans. "Why do I fix everything I touch!? Oh!"

Felix sobs.

"Bam!" Ralph said, bursting through the wall. "Felix!"

"Ralph!" Felix said, jumping up and hugs Ralph. "I'm so glad to see you! Wait." He lets go of Ralph. "No, I'm not! What do you have to say for yourself?!"

"I..." Ralph said, at a loss for words.

"Wait! I don't want to hear it. I'm not talking to you."

"Okay. Don't talk. That's fine." Ralph said, dumping out a can full of the broken go-kart. "But you have to fix this go-kart for me, pronto."

"I don't have to do boo! Forgive my potty mouth. I'm just so...so cross with you! Do you have any idea what you've put me through?! I ran higgeldy-piggeldy all over creation looking for you. I almost drowned in chocolate milk mix! And then...I met the most dynamite gal. Oh. She gives me the honey glows somethin' awful. But...she rebuffed my affections. And then, I GOT THROWN INTO JAIL!"

"Felix, pull yourself together!"

"No, Ralph! You have no idea what it's like to be rejected and treated like a criminal!"

"Yes, I do. That's every day of my life." Ralph said, sadly.

"...It is?" Felix asked, looking at Ralph.

"Which is why I ran off and tried to be a Good Guy, but I'm not! I'm just a Bad Guy, and I need your help. There's a little girl whose only hope is this kart. Please, Felix, fix it! And I promise, I will never try to be Good again."

Felix smiles and pulls out his hammer.

(Jared's POV)

INT. VANELLOPE'S and My CELL...

Vanellope and I sit in a fungeon fortress. The door looks unbreakable. Silly pictures and games line the walls.

Vanellope sits in the middle of the room with a 'Glitch-proof' collar and chains around her waist. I am sitting in the side of the room with a collar and chains around my waist. BAM! Ralph busts the door down and pushes in Vanellope's fixed kart. Vanellope and I stared wide eyed.

"Ralph..." I said, looking down at Vanellope's go kart. "You're..."

"I know, I know, I'm an idiot." Ralph said, letting out a sigh.

"And?" Vanellope asked.

"And a real numskull."

"And?" I asked.

"A dolt." Ralph said, sadly.

"And?" Vanellope asked.

"A selfish diaper baby."

"And?" I asked, looking at Ralph.

"A dummy." Ralph said, looking down at Vanellope and I.

"And?" Vanellope asked.

"And... a stinkbrain?" Ralph asked.

"The stinkiest brain ever." Vanellope said, happily.

Ralph, Vanellope, and I smile.

EXT. SUGAR RUSH RACE ARENA...

Giant soda bottles pop and spray. The lids of the fan boxes fly off, revealing hundreds of spectators. The racers line up at the start. A blimp flies over head. King Candy stands in his royal box.

"My sweet subjects, I can without a pinch of hesitation assure you that I have never been so happy in all my life to say the following words..." King Candy said, over the speaker.

A marshmallow with a checkered hat turns on the leaderboard, but Vanellope's name blinks as a no-show.

"... Let the Random Roster Race commence!" King Candy said, excitedly.

Cheers! King Candy slides down his royal banner. He lands in his own kart. A marshmallow waves the checkered flag. And they're off! King Candy times the speed boost perfectly, but Adorabeezle messes it up.

Ralph, Felix, and I ride on the back of Vanellope's kart behind the stands, holding on for dear life, as she drives.

"Okay, remember, you don't have to win. Just cross that finish line, and you'll be a real racer." Ralph said, looking at Vanellope.

"Ralph. Vanellope is already a real racer. She's on the side of the arcade machine!" I said, happily. "I knew from the very beginning. She's the protagonist of the game. And she has plot armor!"

Ralph, Felix, and I hop off at the starting line.

"Jared's right. I am. And I'm going to win." Vanellope said, speeding across the starting line.

"She's in the race!" I said, grabbing Ralph's hand. "She's in the damn race! Yes!"

(Open POV)

OUT ON THE TRACK...

The racers enter GUMBALL PASS and must dodge gum balls the size of boulders. Swizzle Malarkey gets hit and is knocked off course. Adorabeezle Winterpop hits a Power-Up. Her kart transforms to reveals an ice cream cannon.

"Power up!" The announcer said, over the speaker.

Adorabeezle shoots a scoop of ice cream. King Candy dodges the scoop, but Jubileena is not so lucky.

"Oh, Ala Mode!" The announcer said, over the speaker.

King Candy hits a Power-Up. The hood of his kart opens and unleashes a cannon.

"Sweet Seekers!" The announcer said, over the speaker.

"Have some candy!" King Candy said, firing three fireballs at Snowanna, Gloyd and Adorabeezle, knocking them out of his way.

Adorabeezle especially is launched through a gumboil machine, shattering it.

LEADERBOARD...

King Candy moves into 4th place and Vanellope into 7th.

GUM BALL PASS...

Vanellope dodges the gumballs and makes a jump boost, overtaking Minty.

"Behind you!" Vanellope said, looking at Crumbelina who falls for it, and the protagonist of Sugar Rush passed her. "In front of you!"

Vanellope drives up a colossal layer cake lined with huge cherries and catches up with Taffyta's buds.

"Huh!?" Rancis exclaimed, spotting Vanellope in his side mirror. "It's the Glitch!"

"The Glitch? Light them up, Candlehead!" Taffyta said, angrily.

Candlehead leans over and lights the cherry stems with her car's candles.

"What's this? Cherry Bombs!" The announcer said, on the speaker.

One by one, the cherries explode as Vanellope glitches, trying to avoid the blasts.

"I told you. You're just an accident waiting to happen." Taffyta said, looking at Vanellope.

Tafftya, Candlehead, and Rancis shoot into a giant straw, laughing. Vanellope glitches up the rear. She suddenly glitches past the karts and ends up in front, driving backwards. Shocked, the bullies lose control and spin out, just as the tunnel spits them out over the sea. Vanellope lands hard on the ramp on the far shore, stunned and confused. The rest of the racers miss and crash into giant cupcakes.

Taffyta is sobbing like a baby. Rancis looks puzzled.

"My candle!" Candlehead said, distraught.

"All right. Gotta keep it under control. No more glitching." Vanellope said, talking to herself.

(Jared's POV)

IN THE ARENA...

"She's doing incredibly well." I said, smiling.

Ralph, Felix, and I cheer.

"Okay, kid. Let's finish this thing without any more surprises." Ralph said, getting punched in the face by Calhoun.

"Hope you're happy, junkpile. This game is going down, and it's all your fault." Calhoun said, looking at Ralph.

"My lady, you came back." Felix said, smiling.

"Can it, Fix-It!" Calhoun said, fixated on Ralph. "That Cy-Bug you brought with you multiplied."

"No. It died in the taffy swamp. Believe me." Ralph said, smirking.

Hundreds of Cy-Bugs burst out of the ground behind the bleachers. The crowd is screaming.

"BULL. ROAR." Calhoun said, drawing her gun as candy citizens run around in panic. "There is so many of them. Jared, do you have any friends that could help me?"

"I do. Let me call them." I said, taking out my iPhone 15 Pro Max and I called up Yui, the artificial intelligence daughter of Kirito and Asuna. "Hey. Yui. I'm in a game called Sugar Rush. I need everyone here. Can you hack into the Litwack Arcade's server?"

"I can." Yui said, over my phone. "The year is 2012. Let me lock in on that so they can come through."

Calhoun fires at Cy-Bugs from her cruiser, "Listen up, people. Head to Game Central Station now! Move it! Help is on its way! Let's go! Let's go! Go! Go! Go!"

The spectators scream and hotfoot it out of the stands. Ralph and I see Vanellope trailing King Candy on the Jumbotron. Cy-bugs swarm the finish line, attracted to the neon glow 'FINISH'.

"No!" Ralph said, terrified.

(Open POV)

EXT. NOUGAT CLIFF...

King Candy zips up an ice cream mountain headed toward massive fudge-covered scoops in the distance. Vanellope pulls up him, and in slo-mo he lifts up his goggles in disbelief as she drifts past his car and zooms ahead. They approach a nougat mine. King Candy takes a short cut. Vanellope turns and sees no sign of the King.

INT. INSIDE THE NOUGAT MINES...

Vanellope's hair blows back as she heads into a tunnel and the track drops into a steep multi-colored. As she rises, King Candy sweeps in...

"Huh?" Vanellope asked, and King Candy rear-ends her so hard that she spins out.

King Candy hits Vanellope again and her front end goes up on his hood, "Get off of my track!"

"Hey!" Vanellope said, trying to shift and get off of King Candy's hood. "What, are you crazy!"

"I forbid you to cross that finish line!" King Candy said, standing up, breaks the antenna off of his kart, and whacks at Vanellope.

Vanellope screams.

"Knock it off!" Vanellope said, angrily.

THE FINISH LINE...

Felix, Ralph, and Jared fight off bugs.

Felix points to the jumbotron, "Ralph, Jared, look!"

"Kid!" Ralph said, seeing Vanellope in danger.

Kirito, Asuna, Lisbeth, Silica, Klein, Agil, Leafa, and Sinon all teleport in.

"Hey." Jared said, running up to his virtual reality friends. "Thank you all for converting in at short notice. I need your help defeating some Cy-Bugs. Basically, they're viruses. Wanna help take them out and protect the Sugar Rush citizens?"

BACK IN THE MINES...

Vanellope and King Candy wrestle with the antenna. She glitches nervously, causing King Candy to glitch, too.

"Stop it!" Vanellope said, angrily.

"No! I'm not letting you undo all my hard work!" King Candy and Turbo said, at the same time.

THE ARENA...

Felix, Ralph, Jared, and the fanboy's best friends who play virtual reality games see it on the Jumbotron.

"Is that..." Felix said.

On the Jumbotron, the more King Candy glitches, the more we lose sight of him and get flashes of a creepy, familiar face.

"No way! That's Turbo!" Lisbeth said, at a loss for words. "Did he jump games?"

"I think he did." Silica said, sadly.

INT. INSIDE THE NOUGAT MINES...

"What the— Who are you?!" Vanellope exclaimed.

"I'm Turbo, the greatest racer ever! And I did not reprogram this world to let you and those halitosis-riddled warthogs take it away from me!" King Candy/Turbo said, aiming for a wall separating a fork in the road. He's going to ram Vanellope right into it. "Turbo-tastic!" The wall gets closer and he laughs. "End of the line, Glitch!"

"Glitch. That's it." Vanellope said, gasping while the world seems to slow down as she concentrates. "Come on, Vanellope. I know you said you wouldn't do it again but you're going to do it one more time. Just focus and concentrate and... glitch!" She glitches, disappears, and reappears to the left of the fork. King Candy swerves, bounces off the wall, and heads down the right hand tunnel. "Hahaaa! Sweet mother of monkey milk! I did it!"

Vanellope speeds off and out of the mines.

"Nooo!" King Candy/Turbo said, speeding right into the open mouth of a Cy-Bug.

THE FINISH LINE...

Ralph, Jared, the SAO survivors, Leafa, and Sinon see her coming. They and Felix have a path cleared for her.

"Bring it home, kid! The finish line's wide open!" Ralph said, and an explosion happened nearby.

Cy-bugs start bursting out of the ground on the track.

"There are so many of them." Sinon said, shooting the Cy-Bugs with her Hecate II.

Kirito, Asuna, Lisbeth, Silica, Klein, and Agil, use their weapons from Sword Art Online to take out the Cy-Bugs near them.

"Come on, this is going to take forever." Leafa said, using her sword from ALfheim Online to take out the Cy-Bugs near her.

Vanellope screams and swerves around them, aiming for the finish line. But a Cy-Bug geyser bursts out right in front of her, sending her flying into a field of lollipops.

"No!" Ralph said, terrified.

Ralph, Felix, and Jared leave the finish line and run to Vanellope.

Jared scoops Vanellope up out of candy debris, "Hey. Vanellope. Are you okay?"

"I'm fine, I'm fine. Let's finish this race!" Vanellope said, worried.

They turn to see that the finish line is being completely overrun by bugs. It collapses.

"Oh my land." Felix said, at a loss for words.

"Alright, come on, we gotta get out of here." Ralph said.

"You guys. You did all that you could." Jared said, looking at Kirito, Asuna, Lisbeth, Silica, Klein, Agil, Leafa, and Sinon. "Go back to ALO. It's too dangerous."

"But we can't just..." Asuna said, looking at me. "Fine. You make sure Vanellope is safe."

Jared watched Kirito, Asuna, Lisbeth, Silica, Klein, Agil, Leafa, and Sinon teleport away in beams of blue light up into the sky, back to ALfheim Online.

Jared ran out of the arena with Vanellope, Ralph, and Felix.

"But I didn't cross the finish line!" Vanellope said, angrily.

"There is no finish line!" Jared said, looking down at Vanellope.

ON THE RAINBOW...

Calhoun shoots bugs, "Move it or lose it, people. Come on, everybody, out. Now!"

Ralph, Vanellope, and Jared come running up the rainbow.

"Ralph, Jared, it's not going to work!" Vanellope yelled.

"We have to try!" Jared said, running through the exit with Vanellope on his shoulders, but she's ripped back into the game. "Vanellope!"

"Kid!" Ralph said, looking over at Vanellope.

"Ralph, Jared, I told you I can't leave the game." Vanellope said, sadly.

"Come on. I need you, Vanellope. Ralph needs you." Jared said, trying to push Vanellope through, but she can't leave.

"Jared! Stop!"

"It has to work. You're one of the best friends I ever had! I can't lose you, Vanellope."

"Stop, it's no use." Vanellope said, jumping off Jared's shoulders and he kneels down, on the verge of tears. "It's okay, Jared."

"All right, Fix-It." Calhoun said, and Felix joins her as the last of the citizens leaves. "That's everyone. Now, we've got to blow up this exit."

Jared's weary face falls.

"Just go. Go to ALO without me." Vanellope said, looking at Jared.

"I can't. Not without you, Vanellope. Sergeant Calhoun, what can we do about Sugar Rush?" Jared asked.

"Nothing we can do about it. Without a beacon, there's no way to stop these monsters." Calhoun said.

Ralph gets an idea, then looks up at Diet Cola Mountain.

"Beacon?" Ralph asked, looking down at Vanellope. "Stay with Felix and Jared." He jumps onto Calhoun's cruiser, he wobbles and steadies himself before looking down at Calhoun. "Let me borrow that, lady."

"Ralph! Where are you going?" Vanellope asked.

"I got some wrecking to do!" Ralph said, flying off, through the air, most ungracefully. "I'll meet you at the finish line!"

"No! Wait!" Felix said, worried.

"Fix-It, get behind me!" Calhoun said, stepping ahead of Felix, Vanellope, and Jared and shoots at the advancing bugs.

Ralph reaches the top of Diet Cola Mountain and jumps off the hover board. The crater's center is like petrified Mentos (think Giant's Causeway). Ralph punches it with all of his might. Rumble.

INT. INSIDE VANELLOPE'S LAIR...

Small pieces break off the giant stalactite and land in the hot cola beneath. Bright glowing geysers shoot up all around.

BACK ON THE CRATER...

Ralph gives it all he's got. The crater cracks all around. He prepares for a final blow.

"One more! One..." Ralph said, getting hit by a slam and knocked aside by what we assume is a Cy-Bug.

He slams hard into the rim of the mountain. He shakes it off, as he hears a familiar sinister laugh.

"Welcome to the boss level!" Turbo yelled.

Ralph looks up to see he is face-to-face with a giant, monstrous King Candy Turbo Cy-bug mash up.

"Turbo." Ralph said, stunned.

"Because of you, Ralph, I'm now the most powerful virus in the arcade!" King Candy Turbo Bug said, laughing maniacally. "I can take over any game I want. I should thank you, but it'd be more fun to kill you." Turbo lunges at him and Ralph rolls past him. "Get back here, little guy!" He diverts Ralph with his Cy-Bug feet, then as Ralph tries to slam the Mentos. "Have some candy!"

Turbo swipes Ralph with his tail.

Ralph gets to his feet and dives for the crater.

"Where do you think you're going?" King Candy Turbo Bug said, while Ralph slides under his and throws him aside, but Turbo rolls towards him and catches him by his feet. "I'm not through with you yet. Up we go!"

They fly up into the sky.

"No!" Ralph said, terrified.

BACK AT THE RAINBOW...

Calhoun struggles to fight off the cy-bugs as they swarm the exit. Felix and Jared push Vanellope behind them protectively.

"Ralph!" Vanellope said, looking up at the sky.

Calhoun runs out of Ammunition and she resorts to swatting away bugs with the butt of her gun, but they close in, "Fall back."

BACK IN THE AIR...

"Kid!" Ralph said, looking on.

Calhoun, Felix, and Jared fall back through the exit. Vanellope stands before the bugs, alone.

"Vanellope!" Ralph yelled.

"Oh, look at that. It's your little friend. Let's watch her die together, shall we?" King Candy Turbo Bug asked.

"No!" Ralph said, looking down at Vanellope, then looks to his goal, the volcano now far enough below him to slam down all the Mentos.

"It's game over for both of you."

"No. Just for me!" Ralph said, determined.

Ralph breaks free from Turbo's grasp and free falls.

BACK ON THE RAINBOW...

Vanellope sees Ralph falling from such a great height, "Ralph!"

"Vanellope!" Felix yelled.

"Come back! It isn't safe!" Jared said, when a Cy-Bug closes in on Vanellope.

Vanellope glitches and lands on top of the Cy-Bug. She glitches again and again, bouncing off Cy-Bugs towards the mountain.

BACK IN THE AIR...

Ralph extends his fist downward to the Mentos, but is unable to keep steady, knowing full well that the cola will kill him.

"I'm bad, and that's good. I will never be good, and that's not bad." Ralph said, reciting the BA affirmation.

Vanellope's medal slips out of his shirt. He grabs onto it and hugs it to his chest.

"There's no one I'd rather be..." Ralph said, while the medal gives him strength as he slams his fists down on the volcano's Mentos crater. "...than me."

The top of the mountain explodes, and the stalactites fall towards the broiling hot diet cola. Ralph falls with them. This is it. He's gonna die a hero.

Suddenly, Vanellope rides up the side ramp in Crumbelina's kart. She makes the big jump and catches Ralph on the hood of her kart.

"Kid!" Ralph said, happily.

"Don't worry. I got it under control." Vanellope said, glitching the side of the mountain just as the hot springs erupt and shoot upwards in a shining geyser.

The Cy-Bugs instinctively stop fighting. They turn and fly towards the geyser's bright light. Zap! Zap! Zap!

Up in the air, Turbo looks around at the other bugs.

"You fools! Why are you going into the ligh..." King Candy Turbo Bug said, looking at the light and his eyes suddenly bulge like an entranced Cy-Bug. He flies towards the light, chuckling. "No! No, no, no. Yes... No! Yes... No! Go into the light!"

King Candy Turbo Bug flies right into the light and is zapped.

Ralph and Vanellope crash land in the chocolate river, safe.

"Whoa! Chocolate?" Ralph asked, laughing. "It's chocolate! I love chocolate!" Vanellope whoops. "Oh, beautiful chocolate!"

"Yeah!" Vanellope said, excitedly.

Felix, Calhoun, and Jared see it all from the rainbow.

"Haha! You did it, Ralph! Oh, way to go, brother!" Felix said, joyous.

He laughs for joy. Felix hops up and gives Calhoun an 8-bit-kiss on her cheek. She looks at him like she's going to kill him and yanks him up by his collars to her eye level.

"I... Excuse..." Felix said, and Calhoun slams her lips on his.

"Now this is wonderful." Jared said, taking out his iPhone 15 Pro Max to take a phone of Felix and Calhoun kissing. "It's worth a million points. I'll print it out later and send a copy to you guys."

(Jared's POV)

EXT. SUGAR RUSH RACE ARENA...

Felix puts the finishing touches on the finish line, "All fixed."

"Ready?" I asked, my hand at the back of Vanellope's go kart.

"As ready as I'll ever be." Vanellope said, smiling.

Ralph and I gave Vanellope a push. She rolls across the line. Sparkles flicker everywhere. Vanellope rises up out of her kart, into the air, and twirls.

"Whoa! What's with all the magic sparkles?" Vanellope asked.

I closed my eyes to imagine the threads flickering in the code room. Vanellope's lonely box is suddenly attached to the giant web by dozens of threads.

I reopened my eyes to see a beautiful blush-colored princess gown forms on Vanellope's body. A crown appears on her head, and a wand in her hand. Her feet touch the ground, and the landscape resets to its original beauty. The citizens of Sugar Rush flood back into the game in amazement.

The royal box bursts open in the code room, freeing the memories of citizens and racers.

The faces of her citizens brighten as they remember, too. Sour Bill returns, a candy tree limb stuck to his back.

"Now I remember. All hail the rightful ruler of Sugar Rush. Princess Vanellope." Sour Bill said, walking up to Vanellope.

"I remember! She's our princess!" Taffyta said, gasping.

"Oh, that's right!" Candlehead said, happily.

"We are so sorry about the way we treated you!" Taffyta said, terrified.

"Yeah, those were, uh, jokes!" Rancis said, worried.

"I was just doing what Taffyta told me to do!" Candlehead said, looking at Taffyta.

"Tut tut!" Vanellope said, doing a voice like Snow White. "As your merciful princess, I hereby decree that everyone who was ever mean to me shall be... executed."

"WHAT!?" The racers exclaimed, crying and wailing.

"Vanellope." I said, as Felix and Calhoun shared a look. "How long till they realize?"

"Just give them a few moments, Jared." Vanellope said, winking at me.

"Oh, my land!" Felix said.

"Well, this place just got interesting." Calhoun said, smirking.

"No! I don't wanna die!" Taffyta said, dropping to her knees.

"Ah, I'm just kiddin'!" Vanellope said, happily.

"You are?"

"Stop crying, Taffyta." I said, walking over to Taffyta. "Everything's okay. The big bad is gone now."

"I'm trying! It won't stop!" Taffyta said, a total mess.

"Wow. So this is the real you. Princess." Ralph said, looking at Vanellope.

"Aw, Ralph, what are you, nuts? Come on. This isn't me." Vanellope said, glitching right out of the dress and crown and back into her regular clothes. "This is me."

"Huh?"

"Look, the code may say I'm a princess, but I know who I really am, Ralph. I'm a racer with the greatest superpower ever. I was here, I was there. I was glitching through the walls. I'm not giving that up."

"Yeah. Your glitchiness is a mix of the Railgun's electricity and Shirai Kuroko's teleporting." I said, smiling. "Plus you're an adorable racer."

"That I am, Jared."

"Um, pardon me for asking, but without a princess, who's going to lead us?" Wynnchel asked.

"Yeah. Who?" Duncan asked.

"Uh, me. I'm thinking more along the lines of a constitutional democracy. President Vanellope von Schweetz. Has a nice ring to it, don't you think?" Vanellope asked.

The Donut Cups share a smile.

"Fix-It, Wreck-It, Jared, the arcade's about to open. Let's move 'em out." Calhoun said.

Felix joins Calhoun in the shuttle parked by the finish line. Ralph and I turned to Vanellope. Vanellope runs into Ralph's arms and my arms.

"Ralph, Jared, you two could just stay here and live in the castle. The both of you would have your own wings. Ralph, no one would ever complain about your stench or treat you bad ever again in your wing. For you, Jared, you could just stay logged in forever in Sugar Rush where you can live and not say goodbye. The two of you could be happy." Vanellope said, sadly.

"I'm already happy. I've got the coolest friends in the world. You and Jared. And besides, I've got a job to do, too. It may not be as fancy as being president, but it's my duty. And it's a big duty!" Ralph said, happily.

Vanellope chuckles.

"Vanellope, I wanna stay in Sugar Rush for a while. I'm not ready to go back to the real world yet." I said, still hugging Vanellope. "It's just...Trenzalore is around the corner. I can feel it."

"I know you can. You can stay here in Sugar Rush as long as you want, Jared."

"Thank you, Vanellope."

"Ralph, are you coming, brother?" Felix asked.

Ralph and I set Vanellope down. The three of us fist bump.

"See you later, President Fart Feathers and Captain Cheesecake." Ralph said.

"Bye, Wreck-it, Ralph." I said, grabbing Vanellope's hand.

"Au revoir, Admiral Underpants." Vanellope said, as I squeezed her hand.

"And farewell, Baroness Boogerface."

"Goodbye, Major Body Odor!"

"Hasta la vista, you..."

"Ralph!" Felix said, annoyed.

"You gotta go, Ralph. Vanellope and I will see you around." I said, smiling.

"All right. To be continued. Yeah!" Ralph said, jumping in the shuttle and watching Vanellope and I until the door closed.

(Open POV)

INT. LITWAK'S ARCADE...

Litwak grabs the out-of-order sign, just as Ralph rushes into the game.

"I'm gonna wreck it!" Ralph said, in his game.

"Hey! Ralph's back! Isn't that great!" Litwak said, laughing excitedly. "The gang's all here!"

INT. BADANON...

"So, I'm happy to report, and you'll be happy to hear, I'm taking life one game at a time." Ralph said.

The Bad Guys all clap.

"All right! Yeah, Ralph!" Kano said, excitedly.

EXT. NICELANDER APARTMENTS — GAME PLAY...

The same building. Same game. Ralph falls in the mud. Splat!

"Of course, the job hasn't changed." Ralph said, as a voice over.

The Nicelanders bring him a Penthouse cake. His ugly figurine is on the roof of it with everyone else this time.

"But, news flash, the Nicelanders are being nice to me! And you know, that got me thinking about those poor guys left without a game." Ralph said, as a voice over.

EXT. NICELAND APARTMENTS...

BONUS LEVEL!

"So here's what we did. We're gonna wreck it!" Ralph said, as a voice over.

The homeless characters help Ralph wreck the building.

"We asked them to help us out on the bonus levels." Ralph said, as a voice over.

"We can fix it!" Felix said, happily.

"#?!" Q*Bert exclaimed.

Felix and Q*bert work together to fix the building

"I'm telling you, guys, we haven't been this popular in years. It's crazy." Ralph said, as a voice over.

INT. LITWAK'S ARCADE...

Kids line their quarters up on the Fix-it Felix console while the moppet happily plays.

"Wow!" A kid said, happily.

"The gamers say we're 'retro', and I asked Jared what it means, and he said that it means 'old but cool'." Ralph said, as a voice over.

"How come we never noticed this game?" A boy asked.

EXT. NICELAND DUMP — AFTER HOURS...

The dump has a new sign. It reads 'WELCOME TO EAST NICELAND'.

"Oh, and I decided that living in the dump wasn't making me feel very good, so I cleaned it up, built myself a little shack and a couple for the new guys, too." Ralph said, as a voice over.

Ralph builds a rudimentary home. Nearby, Felix and Jared complete a row of professional-looking homes.

"Well, with a little help from Felix and Jared. Oh!" Ralph said, as a voice over.

INT. CHURCH DAY...

Felix and Calhoun are getting married.

"And guess who was the best man at his and Calhoun's wedding." Ralph said, as a voice over.

Ralph stands beside Felix as his best man, with Jared, Kirito, Klein, and Agil as groomsmen. Vanellope in her princess dress is there too as the maid of honor for Calhoun. Asuna, Lisbeth, Sinon, and Leafa are the bridesmaids for the wedding.

"That's right, my friends, old Ham Hands himself. Very elegant affair. You should've seen it. Lot of grandeur. And not a single bug." Ralph said, as a voice over.

All the soldiers are on Calhoun's side of the aisle. They cock their guns at the window. No bugs. All the Nicelanders, Silica, and random game characters are on Felix's side. Felix goes in for the kiss.

"Let's just say, some tears were shed." Ralph said, as a voice over.

EXT. NICELAND APARTMENTS - ROOFTOP...

Felix wins another medal, which lowers from the sky, as the Nicelanders take Ralph onto their shoulders.

Ralph is on the roof. He watches Felix get his medal. It doesn't phase him. He smiles and looks pretty darned content.

"The best part of my day is when the Nicelanders throw me off the roof. Because when they lift me up, I get a perfect view of Sugar Rush." Ralph said, as a voice over.

As they carry Ralph to the edge of the roof, he looks out.

Through the arcade, a kid is playing as Vanellope as she speeds through the Sugar Rush racetrack.

"And I can watch Vanellope racing. The kid's a natural, and the players love her, glitches and all, just like Jared and I knew they would." Ralph said, as a voice over.

Vanellope tries to get around two racers, and with a glitch and a flip, she takes the lead as the race ends. She wins! She holds out a fist to the gamer. The player fist-bumps the screen.

Vanellope then looks over at Ralph and gives a little wave.

"That's when I realize: I don't need a medal to tell me I'm a good guy. Because if that kid and if Jared likes me..." Ralph said, as a voice over.

EXT. NICELAND APARTMENTS ROOFTOP...

Ralph beams with pride. He waves back.
