XXX - Witness My Child

Aw hell, you ain't gonna believe this, but I've got myself into one hell of an interesting situation.

Remember, Psyche, she gave me this fancy ring, said it was the key to some kinda secret room she had stashed away. I had created something peculiar there and it was time to check up on it.

So, there I am, blood samples from all my closest friends in hand, makin' my way to this so-called "Alter room or null chamber."

As soon as I twist that ring, push open my apartment door, and go through that portal.

I'm stopped dead in my tracks.

The place ain't nothin' like I left it - it's changed, transformed right before my eyes.

In the middle of the room, there's this pulsing thing, like some kinda embryo all nestled up in a little biological amniotic sac.

Looks like my little child has hatched from its egg. And the room, it's an exact replica of my old childhood bedroom.

Talk about a blast from the past, huh?

Got me all nostalgic and bewildered at the same time.

I gotta give it to the child, surely knew how to impress me and make me feel at home.

I ain't never seen nothin' like it.

The way those intricate veins and vessels stretch out to every corner, it's mesmerizing, in a kind of macabre sorta way, like a Frankenstein creature.

I gotta admit, I'm really curious to see what this mysterious embryo's got in store.

So, without further ado, I get to work, carefully infusin' the blood samples right into that pulsatin' little fella, the blood of my friends and my blood.

The way it all seems to mix and mingle, like some symbiotic dance, it's got me all fired up. Who knows what kind of power I'm unleashing here?

One thing's for sure, I ain't sleepin' a wink tonight, not with the anticipation of what's to come bubbling up inside me.

Man, I tell you what, after pouring all that blood into that pulsing little embryo, I couldn't wait to see what was gonna hatch.

It was like I was a proud father, waiting for my kid to take its first breath, you know?

I could practically feel the anticipation building in my bones as I settled down on my bed, staring up at the ceiling like a child in excitement for Christmas.

This whole thing, it has got me thinking about alchemy, the forbidden knowledge they used to dabble in back in the day, science and magic went hand in hand.

Trying to create a life from scratch, birth a homunculus, or some similar concept.

Now, I am no alchemist, but the parallels are sure as hell interesting.

I mean, think about it - this little embryo, it's gonna grow up and become its own entity, maybe even as smart and resourceful as the old alchemists themselves.

Heck, it could even turn into some kinda fiend, an abomination just like its old man.

But you know what? Either way, I'll be damned proud of the little guy.

I can just picture it now, me and my new creation, sitting down and having ourselves a good ol' heart-to-heart in our alter room, our holy place, I know what to call, our Sanctum of Origins.

I'll teach it everything I know, and share my grand plans for conquering Earth, other planets on our planet system then the whole Universe.

Perhaps we will be even greedier and try to meddle with the gangster up there, you know, the Bourgeois and the Earl.

We'll be an unstoppable team, taking on all comers, whether they like it or not.

The way I see it, this is my chance to really make my mark in humanity's record of existence, you know?

To create something that'll shake the very foundations of this physical plane. And who knows, maybe this little experiment of mine will birth something even bigger than I can imagine.

The possibilities, they're damn near endless.

So, as I lay here, waiting for the sun to rise, I can't help but smile like the Devil, Diablo sure does suit me as an alias.

Because come tomorrow, who knows what kinda hell we're gonna raise? All I know is, I'm ready for it.

Bring it on, world.

Eros Hermes and his little creation, we're comin' for you.

Ah, it's already morning.

I feel good, woke up with a fire burning in my belly.

Today was the day, the day where we, The Children of Insight would be immortalized in the records of history.

I could practically taste the excitement, like sweet milk chocolate as I dragged myself outta bed and headed to the shower.

The hot water felt good on my skin, helping to wash away any lingering drowsiness.

As I stepped out and dried off, I knew exactly what I wanted to wear - my best damn suit.

Black as midnight, crisp white shirt, and a scarlet red tie to top it off.

Threw on my favorite black trench coat and a pair of sleek moccasins, and completed the look with my trusty Capella Romano perched atop my head.

I look like a handsome devil, if I do say so myself.

Now, all that was left was to wait for my Children of Insight to join me.

Lavinia, Lucky, Psyche - they'd all be here soon enough, and then we could be on our way to the train station, bound for whatever surprises awaited us...
