"Come on, drink! Drink it all for me!"
A greasy man on the couch pulled a sexy woman closer, forcing a glass of strong liquor to her lips.
The woman's face turned red as she choked, her jaw gripped tightly, making it impossible to refuse.
"Cough, cough..."
Her face grew pale as she struggled to breathe.
"Come on, Mr. Wu, don't be like that. We're here to serve you," said another scantily clad woman, her red and gray-dyed hair cascading over her shoulders as she wrapped herself around him.
"You're the obedient ones. Come here, give Daddy a kiss."
The man's oily lips pecked at the women's faces, leaving a greasy smudge as they giggled in false delight.
Gu Yicing stood at the entrance for a full two minutes, just observing the scene unfold. It was an image too vulgar for her eyes to bear. But this man, Wu Yong, was the patient she was supposed to treat today.
The group, intoxicated and immersed in their wild antics, paid no attention to her. Gu Yicing called out to him several times, but her voice went unheard.
Fed up with the lack of response, she grabbed an empty beer bottle from the table and smashed it against the edge of the coffee table.
The sharp sound of shattering glass immediately silenced the room.
The women froze, staring at her in confusion. "Who are you? You're not one of the girls from this club, are you?" one of them asked.
Wu Yong, wiping his greasy hands on his pants, pushed the women aside. His lecherous gaze fixated on Gu Yicing.
Unlike the overused and overly made-up women around him, Gu Yicing's face, fresh and radiant, was naturally far more captivating. She preferred to present herself as she truly was, particularly to her patients. After all, a doctor's trustworthiness often began with a confident appearance.
The man's smile grew wider as he stood up, his beady eyes gleaming. "You must be the doctor I ordered, right?"
Gu Yicing nodded. "Yes, I'm here to treat you. You didn't hear me earlier, so I had to break the bottle to get your attention. I hope you don't mind."
Wu Yong chuckled and waved his hand dismissively, signaling for the women to leave. "Get out, all of you. I don't need your company anymore."
The women cast Gu Yicing resentful glances as they grudgingly shuffled out of the room.
Once they were gone, Wu Yong turned off the loud music, then walked over to Gu Yicing with a sly grin, his greasy hand reaching out toward her.
But Gu Yicing was quick. She swiftly stepped back, avoiding his touch. "You mentioned that you've been experiencing kidney issues lately, feeling fatigued and weak, correct?"
Her approach to treatment was rooted in traditional Chinese medicine, which often used herbal remedies to address kidney deficiency. It seemed that Wu Yong had come to the right person for help.
However, with the amount of time he spent in nightclubs surrounded by women and alcohol, even the best medicines might not be enough to restore his vitality.
"Actually," Wu Yong hesitated, glancing around as if embarrassed. "It's not really kidney deficiency. When I placed the order, I was too embarrassed to describe the real issue."
He leaned closer, lowering his voice. "Come a bit closer, and I'll tell you what's really wrong."
It wasn't uncommon for patients to have conditions they were reluctant to discuss openly, and as a doctor, Gu Yicing was accustomed to listening without judgment. This time, she stood her ground and didn't step back.
"The truth is, I'm... impotent. Could you, as the doctor, check it for me personally and figure out what the problem is?"
He whispered, his foul breath reeking of alcohol, hitting her like a wall of stench. If it weren't for her professional demeanor, she might have punched him out of sheer disgust.
"You ordered treatment for kidney deficiency. If your issue is something else, you might need to place a new order," she replied, maintaining a calm tone while subtly stepping away to put some distance between them.
"If I have to place a new order, I'll have to wait in line again. But I need this issue resolved *right now.* How about this—help me out now, and I'll pay you extra," Wu Yong said, advancing again as he tried to grab her arm and pull her toward the couch.
Gu Yicing pried his hand off with force. Although she believed in treating all illnesses with compassion, no matter the nature, she couldn't ignore her unease about this particular situation.
He wasn't asking for medical help; he was making her uncomfortable.
"I'll add a million yuan to the payment. How does that sound?"
His words were filled with confidence, as if money could buy anything.
Gu Yicing stood frozen for a moment, genuinely conflicted. She wasn't naïve—being a doctor, she had dealt with delicate matters before. But this… this crossed a line.
A million yuan was a tempting offer, but treating him would mean going beyond her own principles.
