Gene Seeds

In the year 2100, the Seed Company developed a medicine to eliminate cancer, they succeeded in it. However, this medicine coincidentally activated a certain region of the human brain leading to the unlocking of the human potential aka supernatural powers. They experimented on human subjects and eventually gained "Super Humans." Eventually, countries discovered this and tried to monopolize it for themselves. The escalation of the events to monopolize the medicine would be remembered in history as World War 3.

Super Human

---

Rayner tried to slowly open his eyes, but his body did not move how he wanted it to. By thinking he wanted to open his eyes, he unexpectedly moved his pinky finger. He tried again, this time moving his arm. He was greatly confused by this. It was as if it was a different body than the one he used for his not-so-long span of life. He took a deep breath and began to slowly, with pinpoint precision, command his brain to open his eyes. He succeeded.

But once he opened his eyes, an influx of information assaulted him. It was as if he could see everything in his surroundings all at once and all these things were immediately imprinted into his eyes. Not only that, but everything appeared magnified 100 times, allowing him to see even the smallest scratch on the walls of the facility. Shocked, he closed his eyes immediately. After a while, he tried to open them again. This time, he knew what was coming and slowly adjusted his focus to see things normally. Even so, he found he could focus on and lock his eyesight onto many things at once—an impossible feat for any normal person, although this had not yet sunk in for him.

Then he realized he was floating in a large cylindrical standing glass tube, submerged in fluids, yet not drowning despite being submerged for God knows how long. He looked around and saw he was in a relatively dark room with minimal lighting. Beside his containment cylinder were a dozen or so similarly large cylindrical tubes stretching from the ground to the ceiling. Some of these tubes were empty and closed, others already open with puddles of liquid outside them, indicating his fellow test subjects had already gotten out.

He slowly adjusted his eyesight inside his own containment to look for ways to exit the containment and saw a button. He pushed it, and the fluids inside began to drain. Slowly, his feet touched the bottom, and he tumbled over due to his lack of control. He fell off a pedestal of about 1.5 meters but did not feel any pain. As soon as he fell, multiple people in white lab gowns rushed in. "Test subject 914 is finally awake. Move him to the lab," one of them said hurriedly. Another added, "Don't worry, we're just going to clean you up and send you back to your room."

One week later, Rayner learned that he had been unconscious for five days since he was injected with the red vial. Others had woken up after only one day, but for some reason, he took five times longer. Some researchers thought he was dead, but his vitals transmitted by the chip inside his body indicated otherwise. Although it wasn't really normal, his vitals showed at least twice the signs of the average person. All things said, he considered himself to be luckier than most. Out of the 52 people, only eight had survived the infusion.

The survivors were assembled in a room to meet the head of the Seed research lab—the goddess he had seen before. A young woman with long, rich blonde hair, captivating eyes, otherworldly appearance and figure. Her name, he learned, was Dr. Sofia Mikhailov. Seeing her up close and in better detail, Rayner was even more mesmerized by her beauty than the first time, his face flushing red and his heart beating faster. He tried his best to peel his gaze away from her to listen to what she was saying.

Dr. Mikhailov told them that the medicine administered was officially known as APTX0629 v36, otherwise known as Gene Seeds, but more commonly called the Super Gene Drug. They were told that they were the chosen ones, having survived a transformation akin to a moth becoming a butterfly. The drug had reconstructed their brains, allowing for unprecedented genetic evolution, turning them into "Super Humans" with unimaginable abilities. The following days would be spent in helping them discover their newfound abilities, and they were to cooperate with the lab staff.

Lastly, she stared at them, freezing them in place, everyone found that they were unable to move even a single inch of their muscle. "I appreciate your kind cooperation," she said with a smile before walking away. Everyone was released from the freeze—except one.
