River ultimately led the two princes to a secret tunnel. "I never knew the palace had secret tunnels," Eric said in wonder as fire torches automatically lit up the tunnels.
"Come on," River said leading them deeper into the tunnel until they came across a room filled that had a single giant painting of the king, well a younger version of the king, that is. He was wearing the imperial robe with the crown on his head and holding a scepter and sovereign orb both made of gold.
"Wow father looks so young," Eric said.
Hadrian frowned slightly. He's explored every inch of the castle but never has he come across this secret room.
"When was this painted?" River asked feigning her curiosity.
"I believe this was his coronation painting," Hadrian replied walking closer to this painting. "I remember it being brought down by father," he said.
"It is a good painting though," she said.
"Maybe he just wants to be the only one to see his face," Eric said.
