Hearing that her father would also be remaining inside the mansion at all times made Peng Zedong feel rather nervous. There was no telling how long this would be for, and as long as her father was stationed in the mansion, it meant the higher the security would be.
"If I don't make a fuss, maybe I can save that excuse for later in order to listen to my own men's reports since there is no way that my father would disclose anything to me about the situation now in Maple City." Peng Zedong thought to herself before raising her brows towards her father.
"Father, as long as we can keep those troublemakers away from us, that is all that I care about. I don't want to be trapped within our home and just hope that this will only be temporary?" Peng Zedong asked her father in front of everyone else, hoping that this would throw them off and possibly give them a reason to support her in the future for not making things too difficult for the Peng family.
"Yes little one, this will only maybe last for about a week or so. There is no way that given my reputation, that I could just sit holed up in here myself. It will take some time but you will not need to feel trapped in any way. In the meantime as we figure this all out, I have arranged for some of your friends to visit as well." Peng Zedong's father told her before dismissing his daughter.
Peng Zedong was unsure why her father would dismiss her so quickly, but behind her appeared an older gentleman who she did not personally recognize. This man had a fierce aura to him, and a large scar on his right cheek.
Hesitating slightly, Peng Zedong finally got up after a breath of time and started to make her way back to her room. In her mind, such an individual making an appearance might have meant that her father called a meeting with some of the Peng family's most trusted and old allies over the years.
Most of those who took over their families and organizations from the first generation of Crime Lords, would be given a wide range of resources including extremely formidable experts to command. As far as the Peng family was concerned, they only had one or two of such experts in their ranks, but their allies were much different.
In the underworld of the Flower Continent, many alliances would be formed between those who had plenty of one resource, but lacked others. In the Peng family's case, what they lacked in formidable experts, they made up with their government based connections.
Such a resource was coveted by many, and so the Peng family chose to spend all of their wealth on persuading more and more government officials. While they had done this, they gave small pieces of these connections to Crime Lords who had what seemed like an endless amount of formidable experts. In this way, the Peng family had nothing to worry about, as long as they continued to support those in their alliance with newly placed government officials.
"It is good to see that you are still alive and kicking. When I heard that you needed to take only a handful of men to take down an insane drug dealer that had popped up north of your organization's city, I thought that maybe your boss was in over his head." Peng Zedong's father told this older gentleman before dismissing all of the Peng family members who were still in the room.
"Such a small time drug dealer was easily disposable. He may have had enough thugs to outnumber us fifty to one, but that means nothing to someone like me, who has led a small platoon of men against entire armies in the military. He is just lucky that I allowed him to escape this world on his own terms, otherwise, there would be no telling how much he would have been tortured." the older gentleman replied in a serious tone.
The older gentleman's name was something that not a single person knew, but what they did know, was this man's nickname, "Grim Reaper". This nickname came from the organization which he served under that was called "Dark Reapers". It was extremely rare for the organization to bestow a nickname to its members, which is why this older gentleman was feared by those who recognized him, even allies.
The Dark Reapers were known to specialize in torture, but each of their members were able to still fight off groups of men by themselves. There was no telling how many members were in this more mysterious organization, but not a single soul would be willing to declare war on them.
Hearing his reply made Peng Zedong's father feel a little pressure since he himself was rather strong. But, it was clear that such a feat would be impossible for him if he could only bring five of even his strongest family members to destroy a drug fiend's branch of over three hundred thugs and two captains.
