"Congratulations on winning the bidding, Mr. Isaiah," his tone made it evident that he thought Isaiah was behind the assassination.

Hearing his seemingly mocking tone, Isaiah laughed, "It's all for the betterment of the Empire, Sir Jax. Let's all hope it does well." He didn't mind Jax thinking he was the culprit; there was nothing that money couldn't fix in this world.

Also, so what if he killed the two men? They were both tangled in messy business; the government wouldn't pursue this too hard as long as he had enough money.

Seeing the mocking smile on Isaiah's face made Jax snicker. He turned around and approached the building's edge; he dropped from there, THUMP! He landed without even needing to activate a spell.

Isaiah took out a piece of blank card; light danced on both its faces and embedded words onto it. He then flicked his wrist, and it flew like a boomerang towards Jax.

Jax, without even turning back, caught it with his mana, and it floated before him, allowing him to read it. It was a business card.

He left without even turning back, the group of guards trailing behind the man.

After the man left, Isaiah looked at the edge and decided against a flashy exit due to his severe condition. Instead, he opted to use the stairs like a normal citizen.

He opened the lock of his café just below his apartment and decided to crash there for the night. He laid on the couch in the back compartment of the café.

Before he could even go over the day once more, sleep took him hostage; his body was simply too tired not to rest.

...

"M..s..r...mi..s.er...mister...Mister Isaiah!" Lily, having found him in this condition, asked worriedly. She was even more worried when she kept nudging him, but he didn't wake up.

Isaiah slowly lifted his eyelids; he stretched with a smile on his face, "Good morning, Lily."

Lily was bewildered by his nonchalant attitude, especially when his apartment complex was in ruins as they spoke, "What happened last night, Sir? Are you alright? You don't look alright," she asked. It was evident that the events had shaken her a bit.

Isaiah got up on his feet and patted her shoulder, "Lily, don't worry for free; worrying isn't in your job description." He laughed, "Just leave it to your boss to handle the messy matters."

He left the baffled Lily behind and checked himself in the mirror. He fixed his clothes, having just woken up. Luckily, his clothes weren't destroyed last night.

As he was fixing himself, a mana vehicle pulled up right outside the café. A man got out of the vehicle and opened the door; a beautiful woman exited from the door he opened.

Isaiah's eyes shone when he saw this lady; he was waiting for her, "Oh my, if it isn't the infamous Madam Agetha!" he said with a smile on his face.

Agetha walked inside the building; each of her movements was filled with grace. Her body was curvaceous, her emerald green eyes peered into Isaiah's, the only thing that would give away her true age was the slight smile lines that formed due to her gentle smile and her silky silver hair that was worn in a messy bun held in by a claw clip.

"Mr. Isaiah, I think last night you might have become even more infamous than me," she said back with a chuckle, extending her hand to shake his.

Isaiah shook her hand and gestured for her to take a seat, "I was simply just lucky, that's all." He also got seated opposite her.

Shortly after they both got seated, Lily brought them coffee, "Thank you, dear," Agetha said, then turned her attention to Isaiah, "I'm sure you are aware of the reason for my visit, Mr. Isaiah."

Isaiah nodded, "Of course, I'm more than aware. The money is ready; we can go through with it whenever you want." He signaled for Lily, who came to the table with two suitcases in each of her hands. She carefully put the four large suitcases on the table.

He gestured, "Please, don't be reserved; you can check them." This prompted mana to surge from Agetha, and all four suitcases were opened simultaneously as she checked their authenticity. After checking carefully, she lifted her face back up, her gaze meeting Isaiah's, "I'm glad you managed to gather the money so quickly. I was afraid of it stalling, especially now that those two died. I have no one but you to sell it to."

Hearing her caused Isaiah to laugh as well, "Believe me, I want to buy your property more than you want to sell it. If you have the papers ready, we can finalize it right now."

Agetha snapped her finger, and the man who had previously opened the door for her brought the papers and gave them to her. She then checked them once more and handed them to Isaiah, "You can sign them."

Isaiah took the papers and signed them one by one. After that, he extended his hand with a smile, "It's a pleasure doing business with you."

Agetha gently shook his hand, replying, "Likewise, I will now send the papers to the government to officially get the property under your name. Until then, you can keep the money."

Hearing this, Isaiah simply shook his head, "No need for that between us. I trust you to keep your word, and if any mishap happens, I do know where to find you." His last words carried a hint of a threat. His words now carried a different meaning after he survived the assassin that took the lives of two of the most prominent figures in the Second Emperor District, coupling that with the suspicions that the assassin might be none other than Isaiah himself gave his words a different weight than just another rich young man.

Agatha simply smiled and said, "I will remember to keep that in mind for the future, Mr. Isaiah."
