Faking

Isaiah stumbled his way into his house, he crashed onto his bed. His breathing heavy, but his smile still present.

He unhooked the bag from his waist, "I hope the items didn't melt," he mumbled under his breath.

He took his clothes off, his body was covered in bruises, but his attention was on his arm. It looked severely burned, and it was also one of the key points that would give out his identity if caught.

His fingers moved, then he rotated his arm around, "It still works, which is something."

A golden light gently cleansed the burn wound, removing any debris, bacteria, or foreign particles that could cause infection or impede the natural healing process.

He grabbed a bottle of medicine, gently applying it to his wounded arm. It burned like hell, but he was used to pain of this kind.

He looked at his arm covered in medicine, still looking in bad shape, and focused. His arm was indulged by light; the light started shifting and changing hues until it seemingly melted into his arm.

His arm now looked brand new. It was obviously just an illusion spell he casted, since the moment he first managed to change the color of his light, he was busy trying to create illusion spells.

Today, the clone that he fooled Terry with was one such illusion spell, an illusion formation to be more precise. The only reason he used a formation was to store the information regarding his body. He would then activate the light spell according to that information rather than having to sculpt his body out of light each time, then paint it. Without the formation, he would have to recreate his body model each time over and over again. The formation stored the information in a systematic manner and made the process a lot easier.

He moved his hand around, and the illusion was still working since the light had a body to attach itself to. It was a lot easier to keep consistency.

He finally erupted into laughter, "HAHAHAHA," he laughed until his body ached all over, "Cough, cough," he calmed down. He was very happy with the events of today. While he was injured, he managed to successfully kill both of his competition. He not only obtained the building he was going to build his casino on but also managed to try out the combos he had prepared.

The combos he referred to were the Clone Formation/Invisibility combo and Explosion Formation/Floating Formation. One gave him a tool to toy with his opponent, the other provided a highly agile movement technique.

However, it was evident it was not enough to outdo a Rank 2. While he managed to hold his own for a while, if he hadn't escaped to the city at the last moment, he wouldn't have been alive right now.

A light formed on his palm and condensed until it became unstable. This was the formation he was the most satisfied with, the Light Cannon Formation. It was a special formation as it gave him a long-range spell, which was rare for a Rank 1 to possess. Most Rank 1 spells' maximum range was only near the body.

He took the bag from his bed; he pulled out the items inside and lined them on his bed, "Not a bad harvest." The items consisted of only a bunch of papers.

He didn't bother taking any items valuable in monetary terms; he would soon have more than enough with the opening of his casino.

What he needed was more information. He sat on his bed and started reading all the papers one by one; they were mostly documents about rivals House had in Second Emperor District. Since Isaiah would soon start his operations in the very heart of it, these documents would come in handy.

He studied the documents all night, his right arm illuminated by warm light to speed up the natural healing process, even if it was just a little.

Suddenly, he stopped his movements, "Oh, I nearly forgot." Blinding light gathered within his palm as he activated the Light Cannon Formation and let it loose within his own home!?

Then he proceeded to wreck the place with mana explosions. Obviously, this caused his neighbors and the entire block to wake up; they gathered down his apartment, looking at his apartment, which had a huge hole in it.

"What's happening?", "Did someone attack, Mr. Isaiah?", "HELP! HELP! HELP!", there were many voices ringing through the streets. Some knew it was Isaiah's apartment unit that got attacked, most didn't even know Isaiah.

He looked from the edge, looking battered and weak. He didn't even need to disguise himself or act, as he was actually heavily injured from his prior fights, "Call the guards! Someone tried to assassinate me!", hearing his words made people even more panicked; they started running around.

Soon, the guards came; they were all dressed in light silver armor. They looked like monsters made of silver, each armor had a unique design and represented a different monster that would match the abilities of the guard wearing it.

The guard with the most detailed armor bent his knees; lightning came from his feet, and he easily ascended up to Isaiah's complex.

He looked at Isaiah, who looked to be heavily wounded, "Mr. Isaiah, could you tell me what happened exactly here?" The man spread a horrifying Rank 2 aura. This was the captain of the city guards, Jax Indra, a member of the Indra Family!

Isaiah acted like he forced himself to calm down, "A white figure came crashing into the building, a mask on his face," he pointed towards the place where once a door stood, "A huge beam of light destroyed the building before I could even do anything. I barely managed to save my life and stall for time."

Jax listened to every word carefully. The word that attracted his attention the most was "light", "Mr. Isaiah, your innate element is light as well, am I correct?" a deadly aura spread and enveloped Isaiah.

"Mr. Jax, how could it be me? It's only been a few weeks since I have advanced," he exclaimed, which made the pressure that Jax applied on him lift a bit.

Jax nodded. He also agreed with Isaiah, but it was still too coincidental that the culprit's main element was Light, also coupled with the fact Isaiah was the only surviving victim among the bidders, made his suspicions rise further. It seemed like he couldn't do much more in this situation other than keep a close eye on Isaiah.

Hope you guys liked the chapter.
