" Quinn " his melodic voice called out to me . I knew it in an instant that it was him cause my heart skipped a beat. My body usually responds to him but not this time, not until he gives me some valid reasons. I gave him my silent treatment by ignoring his tempting voice and started walking away. "Why are you here?" he insisted me with an authoritative tone. "Quinn , talk to me !" "Why?" I bursted out unable to tolerate my anger . The temperature changed as I smirked at myself knowing the reason. "Why are you doing this to me ?" His beautiful face was scrunched up in confusion. "Why are you disappearing on me? Yesterday, you magically vanished within a second " I paused for a while and then continued. "Don't even try to make an excuse for that. It's humanly impossible. Realization

"Where are you guys?" I texted Melanie as I walked out from the restroom by gathering up a bit of courage which was left in me. "We're in Café. Your mum is here" She texted back. I swear, my heart just stopped beating for a second. I saw stars and unicorns flying above me. Couldn't this situation get any worse? Why the hell is this fate playing with my life? "Lord, I should not meet him... Please save me. Jesus please, I should not meet him" I prayed as I reached the store. I opened the door and was greeted by the strong aroma of roasted coffee beans. "Stay focused, you hungry Panda!!" my mind yelled at me and made me shiver in response. I turned around to see Remi missing, "Damn it!" I muttered.

"We're over here!" I turned to Renita's voice to see her standing and waving at me. I smiled as I neared them but under this strong façade I was crumbling down with fear. "What happened dear?" mum asked me sounding worried. "Aiden happened mum, don't you know that?" My mind back answered her but I bit my lips to prevent saying that. "Uh, I kinda got lost guys" I said but my eyes scanned the whole room for Aiden. Luckily, he was nowhere to be found. "Thank you Jesus. Thank you Lord!" "Okay guys, I guess it's time for me to go" my mum declared. "What are you doing here?" I asked her as she stumbled for words. "I... Well, um, Yes. I came here to meet a client" she smiled nervously. " 'Kay mum bye" I said as I tried to cover my distaste over her choice of words.

She lied to me and straight to my face. "Maybe she didn't want me to get scared of him or something... You know she never lies to you.." the girl on the right side of my shoulder said. "Well, what if everything she ever said to you was a lie?" the girl on the left commented. Shaking my head, I tried to concentrate on my friends. "This place is amazing!" Mel exclaimed. "Yes indeed" I smiled. "So, when's your take off?" "One hour from now" Reni breathed out. "I will miss you more from now" I said sadly. "Next time you can come back to our place" winked Mel. "Sure... So, who are your prom dates?" "It's an obvio fact for me cause it's always Reece" Mel beamed. "Someone's being so smiley here" Reni chuckled.

"What about you Reni?" I asked her. "Um, I've been seeing someone recently" "Oh God, I miss this" I said. "It's Dalton" "Woah Reni, you gotta be kidding me.. I was with you always and how did this happen?" I laughed out almost hitting my black coffee. "I can't help it, but it's like I'm gonna let the cat out of the bag" I wheezed out in between my laughs. "Spill it!" Reni threatened me. "Chill girl... It's just that Dalton also likes you and he's scared to confront you. That's all lady.. Geez!!" "I'm sorry" she smiled sheepishly as she blushed scarlet red. I started laughing and Mel chimed in. "What about you babe? Is it that attractive hospital guy?" "Reni!!" I shrieked. "We're just friends but I won't say he isn't attractive" I stated.

"Woohoo!!" Mel cheered. I recalled his kind gesture at the hospital as I said, "He's caring and sweet. Additionally, he calls me Merida" "My God! You indeed sound like a little girl who has a crush on someone!" squealed Reni. "Oh my God! They're getting a wrong information.." "What no!" I said sternly. "You won't know when you'll fall in love with him. It'll happen soon" "Not you too, Mel. I want you by my side" I pleaded her. "Felix and I aren't what you think" "Yet" Reni added.

"Call me as soon as you reach there, okay?" I requested them. Renita wiped my tears and hugged me. "God! Why are these goodbyes so hard? Now my eyes will get black stain around them" Mel sniffled. We all laughed in unison. "See you guys later!!" I said as they went inside the check-in counter. "I love you girls" I whispered as they went out from my sight. "Sorry for intruding ma'am, but, are you okay?" the stranger in front of me asked. I blinked at him as I completely zoned out. He was grand blonde with his ruffled hair. His jacket covered his crisp white shirt which was tucked in his pants. He definitely looked lil' bit older to me. "Miss?" he prompted me again.

Crap! I zoned out again.. "Yeah.. I'm good. Thank you" I said politely. "Denver but you can call me Den" he held out his hand for me to shake. "Quinn" I shook his hand. "I've never seen you here. Are you new?" "Yes Den, I moved here a few days ago" When we reached the car park, he bid farewell to me and I stopped on my tracks. He looks so familiar but I couldn't put my finger on it. I drove my car with a great confusion as to why I had that strange feeling of running somewhere safe... God, I'm getting weird these days! I would lose my sanity if I wander around like this.

I reached my house to be greeted by my mum, "Did you drop them at the airport?" "Yes mum" "Okay" she said and left the hallway. Is she serious? "Mum?" I called out. "Yes dear?" I searched something in her eyes but she didn't give out any emotions. "I love you no matter what mum" I told her and it came out for a second. I saw guilt in her eyes and she pulled back her walls quickly. "You know that I do too, dear" she said but never said that she loves me. My mind started drifting away to the unwanted things, the girl on my left said... What if all she said was a lie? What if the environment they had set up for me is fake?

And that was when I realized that I'm thinking too much these days.. I did not pay heed to that nagging feeling and went up to my room..
