The following couple of weeks went in a blur.
The police that had been extremely cooperative with the media suddenly became silent. All of the channels that had covered the case received a vague announcement that the charges against the innocent suspects were dropped by the Russo family since their daughter was retrieved safely.
The media and press were less than happy with the anticlimactic turn of events, but try as they may, they couldn't get the police to give them more details. And that was how Sally Russo's case was resolved.
Or that was the 'official' story.
George and Robert rarely showed their faces in the Evans mansion during the past couple of weeks, and Gloria temporarily moved in with her niece. While Robert dealt with extinguishing the fires that erupted in the backstreets of DC, George dedicated his time to building a heavy case against Sylvia.
He wasn't alone.
