Family of the Sunflower

Ever since Alektrona watched a movie about faeries, she always believed in supernaturals. When people told her there are no such things as supernatural, she always replied, "If there are no such things as supernaturals, where did the myths and legends come from? Imagination? Hallucination? I don't know! But I would love to know and meet one," She says it with a bright smile but, once she meets their confused gaze, she looks back at them with the same confusion as them. "I'm pretty sure I'm not the only one who believes in spirits and faeries... right...? " And look at them expectation in her eyes. Her answer makes others fall speechless apart from her grandmother, who loves Greek mythology. Although Alek believes in the existence of supernaturals, she's never encountered one. God knows how many books she's read about Supernaturals. Alek talked to everything she sees and asks them, "When will you guys finally show up to me and start a conversation? I wouldn't tell anybody! I just want to meet you guys so that I couldn't die happily. So I'll be here, waiting for you guys to show up and talk to me." *********** Alek sneakily entered the room and was greeted by a boy facing toward the window opposite the door that she just entered. She thought he was Kai. She prepared to scare him. But before she tried to do anything, he snapped his neck to where she was standing. She was caught off guard. But what she saw next was enough for her brain to stop functioning. "What the..." Alek could not continue. The boy looked like her dead brother, Aether. *********** "They are not friendly, especially the Shiwasu." Astraea told her niece. "If you can't prove that you are able to replace her, then we are all doomed." Everyone was listening to her with serious faces, even the youngest looked like she knew that would be the end. "I will prove it." Alek spoke with determination in her eyes. ------------------ This is the story about shape-shifters and some parts are written in Japanese in roman alphabet as this book contains a little bit of Japanese culture and tradition. After Lunch... - New

"This is breathtaking." Destiny looked around and realised she was holding hands with the man who brought her. She was about to jerk her hand out of his when he spoke.

"Don't. If you do that, you won't be able to stay here." He spoke like usual and exerted strength in where they were connected.

"Oh, I see..." She spoke and blushed hard. She can swear even in this state, her hand was sweating like crazy.

"So what did you want to talk to her about?" He didn't look ashamed or bothered on the surface but on the inside, his heart was pumping wildly. The skin contact with the girl made him feel calm but, also at the same time, crazy. This girl was driving him crazy.

Alek didn't say anything but went on to embrace the girl.

"Miss?! Destiny was alerted and confused, being hugged by the next head of Minazuki.

"Welcome to the club. The time I have spent in this supernatural world is shorter than you, but I can feel what you are going through." She spoke in that position.

"Umm... Thank you..." Destiny hesitantly patted the girl's back.

"Destiny, how old are you? We look like we are about the same age." Alek stopped hugging the girl and asked her while she held the hand which was free of Pollux.

"Uhh." She looked reluctant and ashamed of answering it. "I... don't know. Everything I know about myself is told by my lady, Gemma and Rayna."

"I think she is older than us. But it is hard to know with supernatural beings." Rin spoke. She somehow looked a bit older than him. About twenty-three?

"I'm guessing you don't know your birthday." Alek spoke and, the girl nodded with her head hung low."Hey. Why are you looking like that? What's so wrong with that? Don't be ashamed."

"But, I am a burden and stupid and weak. I-"

"Stop speaking nonsense!" Rin didn't give her a chance to continue. "You are not any of that! I'm not allowing you to say that! You are the most beautiful woman I've ever met! You are strong enough to endure the strict training of Mutsuki come up to this point. Your smile is radiant and lights up my world! Who told you you are a burden? Who told you that you are stupid? Who told you that you are weak? I'm going to kill them." His eyes were red and, his ancient's forms eyes were flickering.

What the f*ck did he just say?!

Alek froze, hearing her cousin's confession. She has never seen him get this mad. She also never heard him shout at someone for them.

"Damn, Rin. Is that a proposal? I guess you found your mate before me." Jin was somehow in the chat and heard every single word of his brother.

"Mate?" He turned his head towards his brother in a confused expression. The anger in him was not fading.

"Yeah. It's obvious that you two are mates." Castor replied to his dumbfounded twin. 'Let's give them some time." He then tugged at his cousin.

"Yeah... Right." Alek snapped out of her daze and shook her head. She then looked at the still frozen girl in front of her. "Destiny? Destiny? We'll talk later. Bye bye." She kissed the witch's forehead and then waved her hands. Together with her cousin, they both exited the mind chat.

[Oh my God!] Alek's inner self jumped up and down.

"What happened?" Bia, who was sitting on the ground near the eyes, asked worriedly. Did the witch tell her something offensive and hurt her? But Alek didn't sound like that and, the witch didn't look like a person who insults others.

"Pollux and Destiny are mates." Iris answered from the stump Rin used to sit on, now occupied by her other brother.

"How did you know?" Jin asked his sister, who occupied his lap.

"The way he was looking at her was the same way of dad and mum, aunt and uncle, and grandma and grandpa." She answered calmly and leaned into her brother's chest comfortably. He was like a fine sofa.

"I didn't see that coming, although I sensed he was more agitated than usual." Kai answered from beside Bia. They were sitting together and examining their sister's new form.

[You did?!] Alek asked, surprised. She didn't feel anything from her cousin or the new witch.

"Yeah. He kept looking at her and, he didn't seem to be in a good mood when you talked with her." Kai looked at Jin, who bit his lip. He was also one of the people who hadn't sensed anything. He felt weird when his brother was not being his usual self but, he thought he was having a bad day and just shrugged it off.

[Is my neck healed?] Alek asked her sister.

"B*tch your neck is long. How do you expect me to pinpoint it? Not to mention your scales make it harder to find the wound." Bia replied without moving.

"If you shift back, then you can see it yourself." Kai added.

[But she keeps on running away from me!] Their sister whined.

"If you want Kiryuu to stop suffering, then catch her and shift back!" Bia snapped at her sister and successfully shut her up, and began looking for the spirit animal inside her.

As time passed by, Alek nor the two new mates did not move from their position as they were busy in their minds. Alek was seeing flashes of a dinosaur but when she tried to chase it, it disappeared every time. For the two, no one knew what they were talking or doing in their heads. They had shifted their place of the chat from Alek's head to Rin's and, no one was interested in disturbing them.

By the time Alek was able to catch up with her beast, it was already midnight, and others were asleep on the magical house built by Gemma and Destiny. She didn't know what happened when she was busy since she found them like that.

"Who are you?" She asked the animal in the dark. The animal was darker than her surroundings. "Why are you running away from me? Don't."

"This isn't how it was planned." The dinosaur spoke without showing herself to the light. She didn't sound nor male or female.

"What do you mean?" Alek asked as she approached the shadow. There was one thing she didn't tell her siblings or family. Her new form didn't feel like part of her, unlike the way Kiryuu was always there in the back of her mind. It felt like it was put there...

"Don't come any closer!" She spoke from the dark and shifted her position.

"Why?" The girl turned her head to where the beast turned to. "I'm not going to hurt you."

"I know that. You never hurt me." The beast sounded like it regretted saying that as soon as it spoke as Alek heard its gasp.

"What do you mean by that? This is the first time we met." Although she said that, she felt as if she knew the beast.

Alek suddenly ran to the beast in the dark and took it by surprise. She was not letting her escape again. This one needed some explainings to do. She thought she hugged the neck but, it turned out to be the nose.

"Let me go, Alek. You are suffocating me." The beats shook her big head to throw off the girl, who was stuck like slime onto her nose.

"I feel as if I know you, yet I can feel that you are not part of me. Tell me. What are you? How are you in me?" Alek held onto the dear nose for life and, the dinosaur slowly stopped trying to shake her off.

"First, get off me then Ill tell you." Iori told her kindly.

"No!" Alek spread her legs and even gripped herself tighter. She wasn't going to give her a chance to escape.

"..." The beast sighed. "Then could you at least move away from my nose? You can sit on my nose but not block it."

Alek scooted up to the pointy nose like rock climbing and managed to sit on it. Thank goodness she was in the dark and couldn't see how high she was from the ground.

She felt Iori move to the light hesitantly and dropped her nose to the ground for Alek to hop off. The head was bigger than Alek's entire body and the eyes... the eyes reminded the girl about someone. Before she could really bring the person, many visions occupied her mind. It was a vision of her smaller self smiling at her playing with sand. The other was her about three, attempting to swim with a pink pool float around her chest. The other showed pretty much the same: her smaller self doing random things.

Alek gasped as she snapped those visions away from her mind. The dinosaur was still looking at her in the same position as she left her.

"Who are you?" She asked with a shaky voice. The beast had a complicated expression on her face and didn't answer. The way she was looking at her reminded her of the same person when thinking about the eyes. And the visions she saw, she knew there was only one person who could have been close with her like that as she saw her younger self snuggling up to her.

"WHY DO YOUR EYES LOOK THE SAME AS MY DEAD BROTHER?!"

-----------

"Hi mum."

"Hi, Rin. What's wrong? I've heard from grandma that you are staying over the watchtower for tonight with everyone. How is everything going?"

"Everything is going... well..."

"What's wrong, son?"

"...I think I found my mate..."
