Family of the Sunflower

Ever since Alektrona watched a movie about faeries, she always believed in supernaturals. When people told her there are no such things as supernatural, she always replied, "If there are no such things as supernaturals, where did the myths and legends come from? Imagination? Hallucination? I don't know! But I would love to know and meet one," She says it with a bright smile but, once she meets their confused gaze, she looks back at them with the same confusion as them. "I'm pretty sure I'm not the only one who believes in spirits and faeries... right...? " And look at them expectation in her eyes. Her answer makes others fall speechless apart from her grandmother, who loves Greek mythology. Although Alek believes in the existence of supernaturals, she's never encountered one. God knows how many books she's read about Supernaturals. Alek talked to everything she sees and asks them, "When will you guys finally show up to me and start a conversation? I wouldn't tell anybody! I just want to meet you guys so that I couldn't die happily. So I'll be here, waiting for you guys to show up and talk to me." *********** Alek sneakily entered the room and was greeted by a boy facing toward the window opposite the door that she just entered. She thought he was Kai. She prepared to scare him. But before she tried to do anything, he snapped his neck to where she was standing. She was caught off guard. But what she saw next was enough for her brain to stop functioning. "What the..." Alek could not continue. The boy looked like her dead brother, Aether. *********** "They are not friendly, especially the Shiwasu." Astraea told her niece. "If you can't prove that you are able to replace her, then we are all doomed." Everyone was listening to her with serious faces, even the youngest looked like she knew that would be the end. "I will prove it." Alek spoke with determination in her eyes. ------------------ This is the story about shape-shifters and some parts are written in Japanese in roman alphabet as this book contains a little bit of Japanese culture and tradition. After Lunch... - We Are The Same

Alek opened her eyes when she felt something was tickling her face. She saw her family take a step back with surprise and no longer fear. She didn't move from her position and just stared at them.

[It's Alek. What the f*ck am I?] She reached out to the group through the mind. She didn't think she was capable of speaking out loud.

[A dinosaur...] Rin answered and walked back to her. He examined the scales and eyes.

[My dear. What the f*ck?!] Alek's inner self was grabbing her head and trying to process.

"Do we have a phone connection here?" Iris asked her brother, who had his phone in his pocket.

"Yeah, somehow. But it's really bad and low. What do you want to do?" Jin handed out his phone to his sister who was reaching out for it.

"Looking up what kind of dinosaur she is." Iris looked up the features of the dinosaur. "Its not going to load." The screen didn't change from when she pressed search. The connection was bad, just as her brother said.

"Anyway, can you shift back?" Kai asked softly.

[I don't think so. I'm not in complete control of my body.] Alek tried to move her leg but, there was resistance.

"This is not Kiryuu, yeah?" Bia asked and Alek slightly shook her big head. "Do you know the name?"

A word came up in her mind when she heard her sister talk about the name. Iori.

'That's a unisex name." Alek shared the name in kanji and Vibia commented. "Well, can you communicate with her?"

[Kinda.] Alek tried to reach the new form but she kept running away. [She doesn't want to talk to me.]

"I see. Then we have to wait until Yuzuruha's blood goes out of your system and you can have take control back." Vibia told her.

[For how long?]

"Twenty-four hours at most." Her grandmother answered.

[But I have to meet my friends tomorrow! I can't be like this!]

"Then try to communicate to her! That's the fastest way than to wait for a day and night." Vibia told her and immediately her eyes shifted. "I need to go. I'll send a witch to keep a barrier for the entire forest so that none apart from us are able to enter. Destiny, come with me. Gemma call the witches and tell them to do what I said. Now, I want you to take us to the watchtower theirty-seven." Vibia told the young witch and she nodded.

"You are all staying at the watchtower for today. I'll inform your parents." With that, Vibia and Destiny disappeared from their sight.

Gemma sent a signal to the witches at the nearby watchtowers and told the direct orders from the Lady. Soon, witches came to the site and chanted the same words. The three witches that aided Alek's wound was there and it was apparent that they were staying because the twins were here.

Before the witch with the brown bob could even speak to the twins, Destiny came back.

"I thought you were accompanying lady Vibia." Gemma walked over to the new witch, who came back on her own.

"Well, lady Vibia picked Rayna to accompany her. I told her that I would stay to guard here since I know the forest more than anyone." Destiny told the guard. "I knew you were planning to stay but, I heard you have plans. I promise not to hurt any and protect them with all cost."

"You are a lifesaver. I'm supposed to have a date with Harris. I was planning to cancel it but, now I don't. Are you sure? Guarding this place means no sleep." Gemma asked. She had looked forward to this day since a month ago. It had been a really long time since she met her husband, but today, he was back in the watchtower, and they were going on a date.

"I'm okay with no sleep. I'm used to it." Destiny smiled a little sadly from all the memories she had of this place. She was always on guard for some reason and was hiding. She rested during the day for about an hour or two and then stay up on guard for the rest of the day and night. That was the way she lived until she was rescued.

"Don't say that." Gemma caressed the witches face. The girl had suffered so much.

"You'll be late, Gemma." She held onto Gemma's hand on her cheek. To her, Gemma, Vibia and Rayna were mothers.

"Okay. Thank you." Gemma kissed lightly on Destiny's cheek and turned to look at the witches. "Thank you for coming here. Your work is done. You can all go back." She used the term 'can', but there was no rejecting her order. She was one of the executives in the clan and, her words were a must.

The witches gritted their teeth not so apparently and bowed at them before leaving the forest. Not to forget, the way they glared at Destiny was so sharp that if a watermelon was in between them, it would have been half with no hesitation. But their glare was caught by the more dangerous and cold glare of the daughter of Mutsuki and, the only thing they could do was shiver. They knew how dangerous the little girl of Mutsuki could be. She was merciless most of the time and was known to not talk to someone she didn't admit.

Once they were outside, they couldn't enter again since Vibia didn't permit them apart from her family, her personal guard and the personal witch.

"Don't push yourself too much." Gemma told her before going back to the watchtower where her husband waited.

"If you want to go back to the watchtower, I can take you." Destiny told the group but none of them said they wanted to go back.

"How is Rayna?" Jin asked. Rayna was the personal witch who used to serve his grandmother.

"She doesn't live in the watchtower anymore but, she is doing good. She was the one who helped me with witchy things." Destiny told him. "I didn't even know that I was a witch before lady Vibia rescued me. I am so thankful."

"It must have been hard to learn all the things in just a short amount of time." Jin sat on the ground and cleaned the place where Destiny would sit.

"I should have done that to your place. You can sit on me then." Destiny lay flat on her stomach for Castor to sit. She couldn't let him sit on the nasty ground with God knows what kind of bacteria existed in that place.

"Jin, stop bullying her." Rin took Destiny and made her sit on a stump that he had wiped. He then gave her his handkerchief to clean herself.

"No need, sir. I can clean myself. Thank you." She brushed the dirt and leaves off her clothes.

Pollux sat on the stump next to her, letting his sister sit on his lap. Iris stared at the witch expressionless. She had an idea of what was going on with her brother.

"Tell me about your experience in Mutsuki. I want to hear it." Jin asked excitedly. He wanted a raw opinion of someone new into the clan.

"It is more than I can ask for. For the past six months, I have been provided with food and a place to sleep. I have learned many things from everyone that I can't thank enough. Most of all, to my lady. I am a burden to her everywhere we go but, she doesn't complain about it. I have so many things to learn about supernaturals that it is all new to me." Destiny answered her honest feelings.

Alek heard the witch saying that everything was new, and she felt connected. They were the same although she was much newer to the world.

She whimpered and got Destiny's attention.

[I want to talk with her.] Alek told the group.

[Okay.] Iris stood up from his brother's lap and let him walk over to Destiny. She knew what he was planning to do.

"Alek wants to talk to you but, since you are not a shapeshifter, you can't communicate through telepathy. So, you are going to talk to her, through her mind." Rin knelt in front of her and spoke through his stern voice, which made her blush furiously. He then put his delicate hands around her temple and closed his eyes.

Destiny didn't know what he was doing and didn't care. The man in front of her was a piece of art. Was he a sculpture or something?! His face was the definition of perfect proportion. She could even see a slight shade of a dimple on his left cheek which made him appear cute. No offence, but she felt more attracted to Rin than his twin.

Many people were a fan of the twins but, they mostly preferred Jin because he was more friendly and chatty than Rin. Rin wasn't friendly and rarely showed a smile to someone he didn't consider important.

When she was about to explode from embarrassment, she felt transported into something. She knew it wasn't physical since she could still feel the twin's hot hands on her temples. It was something completely in mind that she never experienced.

"Hi!" Alek exclaimed when she saw the girl entering the chat in the head.

"What is going on?" Destiny asked as she looked at her surroundings. It was all black but there was somehow light from the up that she couldn't determine from where. "Where am I?"

"You are in a chat of shapeshifters." The next head of Minazuki smiled and approached the girl. "This is how we communicate."
