Chapter 8: My step mother to be .

" Juliana , I know doing this will let you down but I have to do it. And I am so sorry that I can't take you as my wife again

So I just hope that you will continue having fun there as I also chase my dream. " David said solemnly and put the photo back. His father Micheal Wong had been the mayor of the city before his death , He had left much work uncompleted which David wanted to complete. So he really couldn't back up .

The next day , Alyssa had some video shooting. After that , She sat down with Herman as they watched the other players who were acting.

" You are improving everyday. I really wonder if there will ever be someone to take your position. " Herman praised.

" Of course , She's always doing the right thing. " The girl who was doing Alyssa's makeup said.

" It's because my father was also a good actor. Though he never got a chance to become famous or act in any trending movie . " Alyssa said sadly on remembering her father.

" Aly , Am sure he's so proud of you wherever he is. " Herman said cheerfully.

" I also hope so. I just hope that he won't be disappointed by what is going to happen next. " Alyssa said in a murmur putting Herman in suspense.

" What are you talking about ? " He asked.

" Ah... Nothing. " Alyssa lied and quickly dried the tear that was escaping from her eye .

" Alyssa , Nothing wrong will ever happen to you as long as am by your side. " Herman assured patting her shoulder.

Alyssa smiled back at him.

Calcel was in his office Wondering if he would go to meet that woman or not. He hadn't bothered to ask whose name she was or what she did because it didn't concern him. In his mind , He knew this woman must be the reason why his father didn't want to reconcile with his mother so he hated her so much.

He was playing with his pen when someone knocked the door.

" Enter ! " He said.

The person who entered was the family driver William.

" What brings you here ? " Calcel asked coldly.

" Your father asked me to drive you to the place where you are meeting your step mother to be."

" My step mother to be ? " Calcel chuckled before getting up to wear his suit coat.

" Yes sir. " William said.

" No need to go with you. Give me the location and I will go there myself. " Calcel said.

" But sir..." William tried to say something but decided to keep silent.

" I said I will go by my own. " Calcel said in a raised tone.

" Okay sir , I will send you the location. " William made a bow and left the office.

Calcel looked at William with a chuckle before leaving the office.

After the shooting , Alyssa left directly to where she was going to meet Mr Wong's son . She didn't know how she was going to really meet this person but she had to so that it be easy for her to be connected. She finally parked her car in front of the same hotel she has met with David earlier. David liked this hotel because it was located somehow away from the city so Alyssa wouldn't be easily recognized there.

She arrived and entered the room but surprisingly there was no one there. Being a VIP room , It had a flat screen set so she decided to watch a movie as she waited . It took her over an hour when she realized that no one had come already.

' Why isn't he coming ? ' Alyssa asked herself innery wondering why no one had come.

She decided to get her phone and rung David.

" Sir , Good evening. " She greeted first politely.

" Yes Aly , What is it ? " David asked from his home.

" Am at the hotel but I haven't seen anyone. I was inquiring if he will make it or not . " Alyssa muttered.

" Oh...Sorry. I thought that he came already. " David was surprised.

" Not really sir. " Alyssa added.

" Fine , I will contact him now. Am really sorry for making you wait. " David apologized.

" It's okay sir. I actually forgot to ask you something. " Alyssa remembered before David could end the call.

" Which one ? " David asked.

" When is the wedding ? ". Alyssa asked.

Hearing this , David burst out in laughters making Alyssa frown. " Are you that anxious ? " He asked.

" Not really sir . I just want to know the date such that I will be ready by then. " Alyssa said.

" Oh....The wedding is there this weekend. " David declared.

" This weekend ? " Alyssa couldn't believe her ears.

" Yes. You must be ready. We only have three days. " David said.

" But sir..." Alyssa was about to complain but David cut her off.

" Don't worry , Everything is already set. " David said and ended the call .

Alyssa chuckled after hearing this. Was this man really serious that he was going to marry her so soon ? She asked herself before she heard a knock on the door.

' Is Mr Wong's son finally here ? ' Alyssa asked herself as she walked to open the door. She felt a little nervous about it and her heart started thumping hard . She held the door handle and opened but to her shock it was one of the hotel workers.

" Sir , How do I help you ? " She asked.

" Am sorry to tell you this but the person whom you were supposed to meet here just called and said that he wouldn't make it. " The man said.

" Oh...thanks. " Alyssa said forging a smile.

After hearing the words , The man made a low bow and left. Alyssa couldn't believe it but this was just a sign that she her marriage wasn't wanted. She went back to the sofa before she switched the television off and got her purse to Leave. Good enough the hotel had a bar on the ground floor so she decided to pass by there and drink something that would relieve her stress.

After getting the location of the hotel from William , Calcel had decided to come up the hotel to meet this woman but when he was about to knock the door of the room , Something stopped him when he remembered the day his parents got divorce. He really couldn't take it anymore so he decided to go to the hotel bar trying to get off the thoughts from his mind.
