Chapter 24: I hate you !

That night , Herman dropped Alyssa at the Mansion. They both got out of the car and and talked for a while with smiles on faces and at the same time Calcel was also returning from work. He drove the car to the parking when he saw another car in front of him and he could see two people standing in front of the car.

' Wasn't that Alyssa , His step mother. Why was she standing there with another man and why were they smiling at each other ? ' Calcel asked himself before getting out of the car.

" Thanks for dropping me home. I should go inside now. " Alyssa said when she noticed another car approaching them.

" Fine , Good night. " Herman said.

" Good night too. " Alyssa responded back .

Herman got into the car and drove off. Calcel who was just out of his car watched the car leave and turned his gaze at Alyssa.

" You are just back ? " Alyssa asked with her smile as she walked towards Calcel.

" Yes. Who is that man ? " Calcel asked with his handsome cold tone.

" He's Herman. My friend. " Alyssa said.

" Who gave you permission to start bringing strangers into our home ? " Calcel asked hoarsely making Alyssa's smile fade..

" Am...Am sorry . I didn't know that what I did was bad. " Alyssa gasped.

" Don't forget that you are my father's wife. Remember anything can bring trouble into the family . "

" I understand that . " Alyssa muttered.

After convincing her , Calcel turned to leave when Alyssa asked.

" Do you hate me ? "

Her question surprised him that he turned to look at her dumbfounded. Why was she asking him such a question , Did he really do anything bad to her to make her start thinking of him like this ? Calcel wondered.

Alyssa noticed the shock in his eyes and decided to make him understand what she meant.

" I mean , We were friends before I and your father got married. Ever since you realized that am your father's wife , Why do you keep on avoiding me and don't want to talk to me ? " Alyssa asked looking straight into his eyes that were also looking into hers.

Calcel said nothing but started moving closer to her. Alyssa saw his movements and flinched towards the car while their eyes were still locked. She stopped moving when she leaned against the car as Calcel still moved closer till there was a short distance between them.

Alyssa started feeling uncomfortable because of their closeness and moved her eyes off him.

" Am... What are you doing " She stummered.

Calcel used his hands to lift her chin such that she would look at him directlyinto his beautiful brown eyes. Alyssa gulped feeling her heart skip several beats. This handsomeness was unexplainable.

" I need you to listen to me carefully. " Calcel said and released her chin.

" I don't care if we were once friends or not but all you have to know is that , You are my step mother. The woman who came to ruin my father and mother's marriage. So you and I have nothing owing. Don't expect any Mercy or anything from me because that's all I think of you and most importantly . ...I hate you !..." Calcel said gave her his last disgusting and then left immediately.

Alyssa heaved a breath after hearing this. She couldn't believe what he just told her. Didn't she marry David because she wanted to pay off her debts and help him become the mayor , Then why didn't Calcel understand that and why did he hate her so much ? Alyssa had many questions at the moment as tears started flowing over cheek . She now understood what Herman meant when he told her that Calcel is a very tough and heartless guy.

" Ma'am , What are you still doing outside ? " Alyssa heard a voice call her when she quickly rubbed off her tears

" Ah.. Nothing. " Alyssa turned to look at the person to find it was Jenny herself.

" Miss Jenny ? " Alyssa called.

" Are you crying ? " Jenny asked after noticing her red eyes

" Not really. It's just that something entered my eye. " Alyssa lied.

" Oh..Sorry. I saw you talking to Calcel so I thought that something wrong happened. "

" Not really. "

" I actually forgot to give you this. " Jenny said getting a piece of paper from her pocket.

" What's this ? " Alyssa asked.

" It's a letter from Clere. " Jenny said

" Wow , I thought that she just left like that.." Alyssa said with a smile.

" Of course she couldn't. You know how much she likes you . "

" Sure. Thanks for this. " Alyssa said.

" Cool , Let's go inside. Mr Wong is waiting. " Jenny said leading Alyssa inside the house.

" Sure. "

It has been two weeks now ever since Alyssa started staying at the Mansion. The environment was still the same , There was not much interaction between Alyssa and Calcel . David had already registered so the campaigns were going on smoothly.

These two weeks were somehow tough for Alyssa because she was either at EE or accompanying David wherever he went for the campaigns.

She was in her room getting ready for work when she suddenly heard a knock on her door and decided to go check who was knocking.

" Dorah , What brings you here ? " She asked.

" I was asked to give you this. " Dorah said giving her an envelope.

Alyssa got it and read through it. It was an invitation card to the movie launch. The movie they just finished the previous week.

" Thank you Dorah. " She said and walked back inside her room .

She kept the envelope in her drawer before leaving the room.
