Layla asked

"How did you know about 12 golden keys? I never told you about them."

"I'm from the future."

"You're my daughter! How you can be from the future?"

"I don't know, but please, let me tell the story."

"For sure you know, that 400 years ago our ancestors gave us an important mission to open Eclipse Gate. To do that, we need 12 gold keys. In truth we don't need exactly 12 keys, but a power of 12 celestial spirits that can be summoned with golden keys. At least we can make up for lack of Aquarius by using life force, but of course we don't want that was the case."

"Yes, but we don't know, when we need to open the gate. Our ancestors didn't tell us that. Royal family in Crocus is watching over it. If that time comes they'll inform us."

"Our ancestor made a deal with 'Black Wizard' Zeref and five dragons to raise and send to the future wariors, whose mission will be to defeat Acnologia. The way to send wariors to the future is Eclipse Gate. I'm not sure how much you knew about this, but now we have a problem. We need to gather keys, which you, mother, will use to open Eclipse Gate. Eclipse Gate will need to be opened in two years. Otherwise propably we might lose trump card against Acnologia."

Layla was both shocked and scared. Ancestors didn't say they made deal with Zeref! Less about Zeref when you're hearing that your duty is to help to defeat Acnologia. And she gave most of her golden keys to other mages! What must her daughter think about her mother?

"I'm sorry. I didn't know!"

"I'm not going to blame you. Ancestor didn't say many important things, but maybe they had good reason for that. What would Acnologia do, if he knew? He would destroy Eclipse Gate! And I'm not sure if anyone should be forced to bear this burden."

"But what about you? You told me about past, but what about the future?"

"Firstly in two years gate will need to be opened. In the future I come from you couldn't gather all keys because Grammi was too far and you couldn't contact. Because of that you didn't get key of Aquarius and opened Eclipse. You understand what happened later."

"I died?"

More shock appeared on face of Layla.

"Yes and that wasn't only one bad thing that happened. Set of golden keys never returned to me. After all I succeded to have ten of twelve golden keys. Some of them were in bad hands. The worst part was that Zoldeo blamed Grammi for your death and he killed her and later her daughter blamed you for Grammi's death and tried to kill me! And... actually she became powerfull Zeref's warior. As for Zoldeo he became crazy evil man and even possesed Capricorn! And... Dad broke down and became stupid father which tried to force me to mariage and I escaped from him to become professional full-fledged mage. Don't worry that much. After all he tried to fix his mistakes. Likely that was the way how he dealt with your death. It was... hard."

Layla was scared even more. That much is enough to be hated. Maybe daughter even hate her?

"It seems that you've been through a lot."

"Indeed and on top of that I missed you so much! Don't dare to sacrifice yourself again! EVER! Your life is too precious! Don't throw it again! Please! Promise me!"

'How stupid I was to think that my daghter would just hate me?'

"I promise. We don't let that happen."

Layla said solemly and then Lucy started telling her story.

"I don't even know where to start, but I'll try..."

"I don't know either. That magic must have something to do with time and enchanting or possesing, but really I don't know even if that's the thing. At some moment in Fairy Taile there was a speaking cat named Carla. She had foresight ability which effects she has mistaken it for implanted memories."

"After all you're my daughter no matter what. Yet I don't know, if you can still be treated like a little girl. If I understand correctly you are a big girl and you can take good care of yourself. Of course we need to tell dad, but this time I'll make sure, that you have your freedom. Now we need to think about what we'll do about lacking key."
