Harmless Han Li.

Li Lin was very confused about what she was feeling over the past few days.

Conflicted was the right word but who cares? It was still the same in her current situation.

When she received a call from the agency asking her to work, she thought that it was going to be the same boring stuff or even worse, she was going to meet a client who did not have any morals to speak of.

It was not that she was being a pessimist, it was just the way things were.

Her agency only worked with female guides and there was a reason for that actually. It was not for baiting male customers as one would think.

The founder of the agency was a student like her at that time, and like most financially challenged students, she had to work part-time jobs to make ends meet or even pay for tuition when she had to.

But at that time, it was easy for others to take advantage of students, especially female ones, and many would demand things that were just overboard. And that was when she founded the agency with the female-only base requirement.

That was how the agency came to be. But over time, the founder's expression of her bad experience with males became a target for men, some with more nefarious thoughts than others, but a majority of them were not good men.

Li Lin had met such men and it was difficult to deal with them, but she managed to handle it better than some girls and that was why she was so valued in the agency.

There were very few girls who could handle such a big customer like Han Li who paid for a premium even before he knew exactly what service was being offered.

Most of the clients that did such a thing were the ones most prone to ask for more from the girls than the service they offered. Some cases could get so big that they would have to involve the authorities.

That was why she was so guarded when meeting him for the first time.

But as days went by, she gradually found out that the man she was accompanying was more 'innocent' than she thought.

I mean, he had not even tried a simple gesture that would hint that he had any interest in Li Lin.

The first thing they did was go for a Tea experience around Shangwei. Tea was a very important part of Shangwei and it was filled with the history of the place.

Li Lin took this chance to show Han Li the other historical attractions in Shangwei. She did not like the topic very much and would rather be done with it as soon as possible.

Li Lin thought that Han Li would complain or demand this and that, but the man followed all her arrangements without complaint. The only thing that did stand out however was how easily the guy spent money.

He bought everything that could be bought to the point that Li Lin started worrying.

Who in their sane mind buys a tea set worth 10.3 million yuan without batting an eye? Even if you're rich, this is not how to spend money, right?

What shocked her even more was that the dude was always trying to buy this or that for her. She had tried to deny him the first few times, but he still kept offering and she could no longer deny him.

But that was not even the most shocking thing.

Every place they went, Han Li would settle the bill for everyone present at the venue. It was a festival everywhere he went. He was like a hurricane, making businesses close because of lack of stock but the owners were smiling.

It refreshed Li Lin's view of the rich. She was so used to stingy bastards who would always want something in return when they spent money on you. It was the reality of her job.

There were many girls who were willing to accept these arrangements and they were fine with accompanying the customer to the next morning, but Li Lin just couldn't do it. This was a lesson she learned the hard way.

There was this second generation who used to book her services once every month and it was all okay at the start.

They would spend their day looking around Shangwei and she was comfortable guiding him since it was not the first time. The things he bought for her seemed inconsequential compared to the money he would spend, but it all changed one day.

Li Lin did not even know why she had done what she had done that day. It was common practice not to get involved with customers outside working hours, but she somehow ended up giving the bastard her personal contact info and they just got along just fine.

If that was all, it would be okay, but the guy contacted her one day and asked for a favor and before she knew it, she was accompanying him to meet his friends, going to bars and clubs and all that.

She was uncomfortable with it, but the dude respected her and always listened to her, and she thought it was fine. Thinking about it now, this was the classic recipe for trouble, but she was too blinded by the extra income that she would get after the fact.

One day, she just found herself in a room naked. It was a good thing that she was on her period that day and seemed to have disgusted the fellow or she would not know what to do with herself.

This experience had shaped who she was today. If it were not for her job, Li Lin doubted that she'd ever interact with a man in her life. She was one of the lucky few. There were girls who had it much worse than her.

Even after all that, it seemed like she was falling into Han Li's trap. The more time she spent with him, the more she was willing to take that risk.

Han Li was so… 'harmless' that she even sometimes forgot that he was a man. She found herself sharing things about herself that she'd normally not share even with her parents.

The thing that made her even more muddled was what he did after she told her of her struggles with school and tuition fees.
