Chapter 42

In the sky where Kade was looking, Sung Il-Hwan materialized. His expression was one of rage and tears, he was hopeful to see his family again, but what he came back to is his broken family.

His daughter and wife was train wrecked, because for the past year Jinwoo was their pilar, now he's gone.

Kade sensed his arrival long before Sung Il-Hwan made his presence known. He looked at the unknown person, a knowing smile playing on his lips. "I have a feeling you're not a Monarch"

He immediately connected the dots once he saw what Il-Hwan looked like, he didn't expect Jinwoo's father to be still alive.

Sung Il-Hwan stepped forward, his eyes fixed on Kade. "You will pay for what you've done!"

Kade's smile widened, his eyes glinting with a dangerous light. "You speak of threats, yet you came alone. Surely you don't believe you can kill me, right?"

Without another word, Sung Il-Hwan launched himself at Kade, his movements a blur of speed. Kade met his attack with his mere index finger, yet the shockwaves that came after Il-Hwan's dagger and Kade's finger met destroyed their surrounding.

The buildings and houses around them was getting destroyed from the impact of their clash, yet not a single person was injured.

All the people in the whole city was infected, although they're considered a normal citizen in Korea after Kade gave them back their intellect, they're still consider above C ranks and not to mention they're basically unkillable.

Sung Il-Hwan fought with the desperation of a man who lost his only son. But Kade was not a foe anyone could defeat with just their desperation.

"Do you see now?" Kade taunted, his tone was full of mockery. "You're not even as strong as your son."

Meanwhile, in Japan the trio entered their second dungeon, shocking the Japanese Hunter Association how fast they cleared rhe first one.

The japan's population cheered when they came out of the first dungeon unscathed, already hailing them as their hero, making Matsumoto's organisation taking a blow to their pride.

Entering the dungeon, Gunhee, Gotto and Cha immediately notice the emptiness of it, as they walk deeper in the dungeon they felt a presence.

It was a strong presence, maybe enough to give one of them a good fight, but what they saw next puzzled them.

They saw a giant humanoid of a man, with chains and spears piercing the man's body, as if it was there to restrict his body from moving even a single joint.

The trio approached who they assumed the only single monster inside the dungeon, "This is fascinating, this dungeon doesn't seem like a normal one" Go gunhee said as he stood in front of the kneeling giant, still towering them despite the position.

The giant lifted his head, revealing eyes that glowed with an eerie light. He laughed, a deep, resonant sound that filled the chamber. "Kukuku, I did not know humans could reach the power you three possessed. You must be their only hope. Unfortunately, you three will not be enough to stop the war that's coming."

The trio exchanged glances, both confused and intrigued that the creature could speak their language. Goto Ryuji, ever the provocateur, casually climbed onto the giant's head, using it as a seat. "What is this thing talking about? Hope? War?" he questioned, his tone dripping with disdain.

The giant's eye glowed as magic power started leaking from him, feeling insulted that a mere human sat on his head.

The giant's eyes flared with anger, and magic power began to seep from his body. "You're a brave human, daring to sit on the head of one of the Monarchs."

The trio's expressions shifted as they began to understand. "Oh, so you must be one of those beings the master told us about—a group of emo boy bands," Gotto quipped, his smirk widening.

As if it had enough of the insults, the giant roared, trying to intimidate the trio. But before he could react, Gunhee raised a hand, his palm igniting with intense fire. The chains binding the giant began to melt under the heat. Legia, the Monarch of Giants, thought he was finally free. But his hope was short-lived.

Gunhee moved casually, almost as if he were taking a leisurely stroll in the park. His first punch landed in Legia's gut with a force that made the entire chamber shake. The giant gasped, eyes widening in shock. Gunhee continued to deliver blows with the same nonchalant demeanor, each one more powerful than the last. It was as if Gunhee was merely going through the motions of an everyday task.

"You thought you could fight me, not to mention us?" Gunhee said, his tone light and almost cheery as if he was talking to a friend.

With a final, crushing blow, Gunhee subdued the giant. Legia, battered and humiliated, looked up at Gunhee with a mix of fear and bewilderment. "Who… who are you?" he asked, his voice trembling. "How have humans reached this height of power?"

Gunhee smiled, leaning down to look Legia in the eye. "You're already this scared of us? I want to see how you would react when you meet our leader"

Legia's eyes widened in disbelief. "Leader? This power… and you're mere lackeys?"

Gunhee's smile widened as he placed a hand on Legia's forehead, beginning the transfer of biomass. "You'll see soon enough," Gunhee said. "Welcome to the fold."

All of the top brass in Kade's organisation have the ability to control someone in Kade's stead, although they have to ask for permission first to use this ability.

Legia groggily stood up, a mix of fear and respect in his eyes. "You have made me a servant of your master," he said, his voice filled with resignation. "What now?"

Gunhee's eyes glinted with satisfaction. "Now we go back home, to meet our master"

Cha and Gotto looked at Gunhee with jealous eyes as they felt they could've done what he did, gaining the praise of their master, alas it's too late.

They couldn't fight Gunhee for it anyway, if they do they'll turn into ash.
