Xander P.O.V

In my entire life of working l refused to hear to the advance of other ladies. My wife divorced me after two years of marriage 💌, it been over a year and a half right now. My parents have adviced me to get a wife cause they want grandchild. I want kids too but the fear of falling inlove and getting divorced makes me fear getting into another relationship. Today , felt way alot better it as if today was going to be one of the happiness day in my life.

I worked as a doctor which l have dreamed of since l was 6. The dream came through after hardwork . I make myself comfortable looking at the frame on my table. It was a picture of my ex wife in a green grown with her hand on her baby bump. She got pregnant after a year of marriage, happiness visited as after a year of marriage. We where expecting a girl in 4 months to come but my wife Ria had a miscarriage after falling from the steps.

Our relationship started to crump as she got depressed. She came back from the work to fight with me and go out in the evening to return in the afternoon. One day she never came home up till date she is no where to be found. Loneliness travels with me everyday. I still love my wife with all of me. I want her back even though she is not here. On papers we are not divorced since her signature is only on the divorce papers mine isn't there. Legally we are still married. Nadia came into my office informing me of the patient in the ward.

After few check ups , the results came out ' She is 3 weeks pregnant and with dehydration'. Doesn't she know she is pregnant l questioned the one who brought her. Beauty stood there shocked at the words of mine ' I.. did..n't...she ... pregnant' she stummered. I got to know that the lady is called Maria and fainted in work.

Maria looked gentil when she sleeps for more looked thin , bit there was something about her l want to know about. I feel she belongs to me After bringing up her mood I left her for two hours. People surrounding her room with security escorting a man and lady away The guy looked familiar but l can't remember where l gave have seen him before. A stretcher was been pushed to the operating theater. Maria laid there her face disfigured.

I followed them my heart felt like a part of me has been sucked away. Is this love or what?. Nadia ran in my direction ' Doc Xan there is no surgeon available, Bernard went on vacation to Asia '. I am now in a big problem. Why does Bernard always have to go to other countries when he is needed the most. This single guy surely needs to be tied.

Contemplating what to do next got me 🤔 thinking. I have never performed surgery on anyone but seems today l have to . I entered into the operation room preparing to get the surgery done. I dialed Bernard number he answered the call so he will be giving me details on what to do.

' Please save my baby doc please' Maria cried. This reminded me of my unborn baby who died before she could be brought to this world . ' I will do my possible best to save you and the child but we have to perform a surgery on your face , am not a surgeon too'. The room became silent for a second before Maria held the sheet ' Let me look like your wife'.

Is this a joke or what , l couldn't believe what my ears heard but everyone in the room was in utter shock but a paper was handed to Maria which she reluctantly signed without second taughts.

The surgery was successful, l was able to change her entire face to be that of Ria . Since the acid got into her eyes but not that much that l could work on the eyes for her to regain her sight. The colour of her eyes turned into brown that of Ria's .
