Elder Sister

Returning to his room, the first thing he did was to look at the cultivation technique. Even though he may have become a servant, he still had hope for cultivation. He wasn't ready to accept the outcome. He still wants to go and explore the world outside and draw its beauty, he has always been fascinated with art.

Inside the bag was a servant's uniform and a bamboo scroll. After reading the bamboo scroll for some time, he closed his eyes. He started to meditate in the same position as instructed in the scroll.

According to the scroll, there is some sort of energy called Qi in the air. The breathing technique allows you to absorb the 'Qi' around you and circulate it within your body. It is assumed that this will open more pores in your body, making absorption easier. This will create a permanent Qi Vessel.

To his surprise, he coughed some blood after only a few seconds of meditating. He was shocked because he didn't understand why he had coughed. Even so, he tried again but got the same result. He felt unbearable chest pain, so he decided to wait until tomorrow to ask someone about the cause.

Waking up by the call of a woman "Little Wang, come on", opening the door he saw the woman from his new group.

"Little Wang, hurry up we're going to the weaponry hall to get our weapons for the hunt," said Qu Shi who seemed to treat Wang Yu as a little brother.

"Little Wang, it seems that yesterday you have been training hard, you don't have to rush things those of us from the servant district do not get medicine and without those medicines, it's normal for the cultivation to be slow" Wang Yu attentively listened to her before saying "so is normal for the servant to cough a blood each time they cultivate"

"No we don't, maybe you have a chaotic root. When you entered the pond, did the colors near you seem to be fighting?" Wang Yu nodded.

"Those with chaotic roots will always find it hard to finish circulating the Qi within their body. However, it's not impossible. You should be careful not to exceed your body's endurance." Said the woman caringly she seemed to remember someone while looking at Wang Yu "You look like my younger brother" said Qu Shi before tidying his collar. Wang Yu was so embarrassed that he tried not to look at her.

"By the way, my name is Qu Shi, as for how I know your name it was your friend who has told me," said Qu Shi.

On the way to their group, Qu Shi has told Wang Yu about some sect rules. One rule was that every hunting group had to bring at least three coins' worth of items to the sect. These items could be exchanged for goods such as medicines and weapons. This would make the cultivation way easier. However, to gain medicines, the hunters had to hunt many times, and each hunt was dangerous. She also told him that after three years in the sect, the servants may choose to either work for the sect or leave.

According to her, some of the sect servants will get great positions in the mortal cities since they represent the sect.

As for the coins, they were the currency used inside the Servant District of the Ice Hell Sect. To obtain them, one should finish missions or sell some goods. And they can be used to buy nearly everything.

"Qu Shi, didn't you go to call Wang Yu what took you so long," said Ah Shu. The group seems to have waited for long.

"Little Wang seems to be very tired from last night, so he didn't open the door quickly," said Qu Shi.

"Anyway, let's go to the Weaponry Hall to take our hunting tools." Their group then entered the hall. It was huge and crowded with people, some were here to buy new weapons some to fix them. As for their group they were the last hunting group to come here. Just after entering a youth at the age of Wang Yu come to them and said "Senior brothers and sister, how can I help you."

We are a new hunting group and we've come here to take weapons for our first hunt." Said Ah Shu as the group leader, he was the one to speak.

"Oh, then follow me to the elder," the youth then brought to a room. The room was simple with only a table and some chairs and an elder who was drinking tea while reading. "Elder, they want to take some weapons as a new hunting group." The elder then looked at the group before saying "so you are that group."

"Yes, elder we've only completed our group yesterday." The elder then said, "take them to storage number 3, each one can only take one weapon so choose carefully."

After following the youth, they entered a storage room that contained many weapons, but they were only mediocre. Ah, Shu, and Qu Shi both chose a sword each, and Ah Du chose a spear as for Lu Min and Lu Fu they chose Bows so each of them was given another set of arrows.

Wang Yu who was watching them didn't know what to choose, he has never used any weapon unlike his fellow villager Lu Fu who said that he has been training with bows since his childhood. He didn't know what to choose, "Wang Yu, why don't you choose a short sword considering your physic drawing a bow will be hard, the same goes for using spears" hearing what Qu Shi had said Wang Yu finally chose a short sword.

The group then went to the training field to train before their hunt. Ah, Shu and Qu Shi seemed to be good at using swords they have done a fantastic duel in front of them as for Ah Du he wasn't that particularly good but his moves fitted hunting, each move had the intent to kill. As for Lu Min he was an extremely good archers each move he does has it own grace as if it was trained many times over and over, Lu Fu weren't particularly good but seemed to have trained nonetheless, for ten shoots in range of a hundred meters four will hit the target. Wang Yu was the worst among them, he regretted not having listened to his uncle when he had asked him to train with other youths from the village, if he had done so maybe he wouldn't have felt this feeling of inferiority, he then started swinging his sword trying to do the same as Ah Shu and Qu Shi, after some few moves he nearly hurt himself with the sword "little Wang stop, if you continue like this you will hurt yourself" shouted Qu Shi, she treated Wang Yu as her little brother and didn't want to see him hurt.

"Then how should I train," Wang Yu didn't understand, he did the same moves as them but he felt that there was a difference between them. When the move was done by them it felt way smooth and they didn't seem to think before moving.

"You should train with wooden swords at the beginning, it's dangerous to train with real swords" Qu Shi then left to bring him a wooden sword. Lu Min said jokingly "it seems that sister Qu is interested in you", Wang Yu's face reddened he was embarrassed. They then started laughing at him.

"What happened, you had a good time while I was away" commented. She had a wooden sword, "this wooden sword, was mine it was given to me by father and now it should be yours."

She then handed him the wooden sword, Wang Yu took the sword and started to inspect it its size was the same as the sword he had chosen earlier.

"Now, let's begin by the moves you need to learn, the first move is a lunge, but before that, you'll need to learn the stance which is how to stand while using your sword. The first thing to do is to put your left foot forward and the sword held close to your face and aimed towards the upper regions of the opponent's body. Your hips should be facing toward your opponent not turned sidewards while your body weight is evenly distributed" Qu Shi then did the movement while talking as for Wang Yu he was listening attentively for fear of missing any details.

"After learning the stance, the first move you need to learn is a lunge which is the most basic attacking move" Qu Shi then moved her right foot forward in a striking form.

"As for the attack, there a basically 8 angles of attack with a sword when cutting: straight down, straight up, diagonally down to the right, diagonally down to the left, diagonally up to the right, diagonally up to the left, and left and right strikes horizontally."

Qu Shi then drew her sword and started executing the moves "while other angles are possible, they but variations of the aforementioned attacks, as for the thrust it is a move in which you jab the opponent with the sword, single-handedly."

Wang Yu started to train with his wooden sword, the moves were forceful at the beginning, "little Wang, if you keep using so much strength, you won't improve and you'll only get hurt," said Qu Shi.

"Remember, you should first train in only one move and when it became natural you could train the others" added Qu Shi.

The group then started training very hard they knew that the hunt is going to be very dangerous, there was no room for mistakes they have to be prepared. Wang Yu trained hard at the beginning but soon he found it painful, his body felt numb he had never trained in the village and unlike the other kids of the village, he didn't like running all the time he pretty much preferred to sit down and draw something.

Wang Yu didn't show his tiredness, still, he couldn't continue as hard as he could, Qu Shi took notice of this and reprimanded him, telling him that if wanted to learn he will have to take things slower if not he will only get hurt and he won't learn, Wang Yu promised Qu Shi to take a break each time he felt it hard to continue, the group will stay at the training field most of the time going to the canteen to eat when hungry.

Returning to his hut. Wang Yu's body felt painful even though he tried as hard as he could not exceed his limit by taking a break each time, he still felt extremely tired today. Nevertheless, he wanted to draw the duel between Ah Shu and Qu Shi, the way they moved and used their swords was breathtaking, so he started drawing.

"Come on little Wang, aren't you tired sleeping ten hours," Wang was dumbfounded, he only remembered drawing a little before losing consciousness which was due to his extreme fatigue.

"Sister Qu, I'm coming," said Wang Yu before opening the door.

"Remember to take care of your body, if you feel tired take a break and remember you have to eat and drink well so that your body replenishes what he lost." Qu Shi was wholeheartedly playing the role of a big sister, which made Wang Yu's heart warm up a bit he didn't have a sibling and besides Lui Fu and his sister he didn't have any other friend, even Lu Fu despite being from the same village they haven't talked much before coming to the sect. So, this kind of care made Wang Yu consider Qu Shi as an older sister.

"What are thinking about, why don't you hurry, or do you need me to carry you," said Qu Shi playfully, "of course not I can carry myself" he will never accept being carried by a girl.

The group continued their training in the following days. Wang Yu started to get accustomed to the training but still felt his body numb, today was their last day of training. According to the sect regulation, they will have to bring some hunt each week, so tomorrow they will leave the sect for their first hunt. They had decided that they would go early as to take a good rest before their hunt, other than Wang Yu who preferred returning to his room the others went to the inn to have fun.

Entering the hunt Wang Yu decided to continue drawing, he hasn't made much progress since the first day, every time he started drawing, he would sleep, so today he decided to finish the drawing nevertheless he still slept after making a few strokes.
