The Enchanter

[Hahahaha! They're all burning!]

It was a cathartic experience for the soul fragment of the Great Arsonist of the past. Witnessing people burning, much more succumbing to the fiery heat of the purple flames was a new experience for her.

[Maybe you're even better than my past self! Hahaha!]

The soul fragment praised Bob for his diligence. However, he wasn't trying to burn people for pleasure, just that he knew that this was only a sport. The adventurers/Chosen/Players were people that are not bound by death, and thus he cared not if they died.

However, the same couldn't be said for everyone else. People like May, Sir Martel, Fera, and most importantly, his mother were people of the world he lived in. They're all important to Bob, and that's why he'll gain the necessary strength to protect them from the changing world.

"Hmm. You were a person before, yes?" Bob got tired of addressing the soul fragment as an object.
