Out for blood

"Hey, this is just a misunderstanding! I won't take away my brother's bride!"

Regalus rolled on the ground trying to avoid the attacks carefully without being grazed by the black snake's deadly venom. With his physique of the same kind, although he would not die, maybe will just get paralyzed for a minimal period, but that's only with the poison! He was sure as hell that once that bastard caught him, he'd definitely snap him in half.

"Brother my ass!"

Nemus hissed at him and withdrew his head from the dent he caused after missing his target.

"Your thoughts are leaking out you wretched python!"

Once again, he turned to his brother attempting to catch and crush him with his weight. He aimed at his neck while pinning him on the ground and pounced at him several times. Nemus is out for Regalus' blood and vowed to surely bury his fangs on him!

Alas, no matter how fast he lunged, the other person was able to avoid his strikes. Annoyed at his older sibling, Nemus retracted his huge body in full might before taking off and swiftly sprung his head into a forward thrust.

He will take him out this time for sure!

Just when he thought he was going to succeed, Regalus morphed his lower body. Using his thick, long legs he kicked the snake up in the air, hitting its huge body to the top and crushing the several bats and stalactites hanging on the ceiling.

Zethus quickly jumped off to catch the unconscious female who had slipped out of Nemus' tail. That moment, he was caught off guard to see her sleeping soundly amidst the ruckus. More than that, he was dumbfounded at the sight of an oblivious fool without a tad bit of awareness fearlessly dozing off despite the danger lurking on all sides.

Chuckling, Zethus couldn't help but be sarcastic. He shakes his head after remembering how the female boldly entered a beast's lair without even knowing. He was indeed baffled by her oddity.

In no time, Zethus silently withdrew himself to the shadows leaving the battlefield without exposing his presence to the two battle-struck fools. He took the girl to the far corner while making sure his idiotic brothers didn't end up killing each other.

Meanwhile...

Shortly before the snake falls, Regalus takes off in a whoosh and makes another follow-up by leaping over it and smashing him down to the solid ground with his right foot.

The strong impact inside the cave caused tremors all the way up to the surface, shaking the snow field and large trees above them. Even alarming the small animals who quickly returned to their burrows after feeling the danger, including the pack of wolves that stayed on patrol in the area waiting for the female to come out.

"Kythe, we should go. We should not loiter around a snake's lair. It won't be good to stay here any longer," a brown wolf suggested as he turned to the big angry wolf glaring daggers at the small hole.

He growled, unwilling to let the impertinent female go. She embarrassed him by soiling his mouth with another beast's excrement in front of his pack!

"I will stay here and hunt that female down. Just a hexa-gem wielder beasts won't be able to stop me," he scoffed. A seven-streak amber gemstone emerged proudly on his forehead as he released his imposing aura.

"That female had to take responsibility for her transgression. If she refuses to become my female, I will just devour her and become my energy as payment for her actions," he stated, threateningly.

Erne, the brown wolf shook his head disapprovingly before turning his huge back on Kythe, preparing to depart with the others.

The stubborn black wolf is Kythe, the son of the current pack leader. He is prideful and cruel. He reckoned that his words wouldn't reach the bull-headed wolf, seething in rage. So, he decided to just leave and report it back to the pack leader.

The appearance of females had been so frequent recently. Every tribe is on the watch to snatch at least one of them. Thus, when they caught the scent of a female near their territory, they were ecstatic and quickly dispatched a group to safely escort her back to their tribe. However, Kythe who was eager to capture a female, scared her and let her escape in the process.

"Alas, it's a shame that we've lost yet again another female." Sighting one is a whole different story from catching it successfully.

Inside the cave, Regalus descended on the black serpent's large body like a hallowed king. He stepped on its body with vivid irritation on his face and started pummeling it under his feet.

Nemus was immediately crushed on the ground with a huge repelling force dawning on him.

"Hey, brat. I already told you that it's just a misunderstanding, didn't I?"

Regalus stretched his neck from left and right and pulled his shoulder muscles that had tensed up. He tapped down his feet, putting greater pressure on the beat-up snake.

"When your older brother tells you it's a misunderstanding, you should behave and listen attentively!"

Regalus smiled wryly while knocking some sense on his stubborn sibling. The perturbing veins vividly showed in his finely sculpted face giving his warm, golden-brown complexion a hint of sinful allure as he tried to suppress his temper.

Nemus groaned and coughed out blood. His body squirmed underneath the man who was lecturing him while trampling each of his bones in the process.

Owing to his headstrong character, Nemus didn't want to back down even if all the fibers of his muscles were screaming in protest. Instead of making amends, he boldly spat out his venom toward his brother and spoke out his intent under his breath.

"Drop. Dead. You. Noisy. Bastard."

Regalus stopped his talks and quickly evaded his poison shot that was aimed at his body. Still, his arm was scraped and bled a little. Not long after, he felt his right arm go numb causing him to back away, sensing the imminent risk to his life under the black serpent beast's watchful eyes.

After witnessing his brother's impertinence, the last piece of restraint Regalus painstakingly held snapped.

Nemus slowly snaked his huge body up from the ground, but before he could even recover his stance, Regalus charged at him with a heavy jab using his left arm coupled with sharp kicks.

'Damn python!'

He cursed his brother for not giving him any chance to retaliate. Once again, he is being tossed up and down like a punching bag.

'Shit!'

Regalus didn't stop even when he saw Nemus' messed up figure. He continued pounding him to make him reflect upon his nasty behavior. After a few more thrashing, he then propelled his body and focused his strength on his leg. He stretched his lower limb horizontally and kicked the large beast's body, sending it to the depths of the cave. 

Due to being hit by a great force, Nemus was thrown away, knocking down some pillars and rock formations before crushing into the cave walls. The strong impact created huge holes all the way to the succeeding chambers of the cave.

Following his trail, a few meters down the line, a large crack on the surface of the last wall he banged on unsurprisingly formed almost crumbling the entire hall.

Nemus whimpered in pain after taking a heavy blow. Blood trickled from his mouth after being knocked down at a distance. The anger in him didn't subside, rather it only increased by several folds.

He always knew that his older brother was strong but not to the extent that he could easily beat him down like this!

Consumed by his anger and pride as a beast and as a man who doesn't to besmirch his honor in front of his prospective bride, his crimson irises reflected a dangerous glint. Perhaps due to his emotional and battle-focused state, Nemus still hasn't realized the absence of 'that' female… so is Regalus who's fixated on his fight with him.

The rustling sound of falling rocks echoed inside the hollow cave as Nemus slowly rose from the rubbles, dropping off the debris that fell on him.

Nemus' vision was gradually eaten up by his killing intent towards Regalus. He doesn't care if he's strong, if he wants to take what's his then he needs to step over his dead body first!

This time, he also morphed into his human form. Following his transformation, a six-sided vermillion gemstone manifested on his chest like a blood pigeon jewel. His eyes flickered a faint glow of darkness. The dark red aura slowly crept all over his body enveloping him with thick ghastly fog that vividly emitted an ominous feeling.

After getting a load of his younger brother's impudence, Regalus wasn't thrilled anymore. His dust-covered face twisted right away upon seeing Nemus' awful bearing. His demeanor turned grave when he realized what the little prick was planning.

Considering the turn of events, Regalus lets go of his sentiments towards his sibling and decides to put a stop to his nonsense be it by force, even if it means limping him. A pure amber chroma of the same sides took shape on the back of his neck and started emitting a terrifying streak of lightning.

A crackling sound ran through his chiseled form, releasing a zap of current that crushed even the littlest pebble surrounding his body. He ran his fingers through his golden curls as he grinned mockingly at the sight of his brother.

"Crazy son of a gun."

Regalus gritted his teeth and clenched his jaw. Bolts of lightning covered his body like an impenetrable armor.

The two of them glared at each other through the holes in the wall with a grim face, not willing to back down in any way.

Without a warning, the two furious beings leap through the air and charge at each other ready for the kill.
