Chapter 17, Rose does something stupid and the Author must come to the Rescue.
Rose was looking at his editing screen and decided to do something risky, he wanted to give himself powers of a different character, as an experiment if it would work. Naturally he had made himself eight rings that protected him from death and was wearing them, so if something would go wrong, he could edit the characters power out. Who did Rose choose to go for? Well a test is a test and he didn't want to go for something too strong.
So he choose Prince Zuko as practice. He gave edited it and gave him the powers of Zuko as he has seen it done with the two powers he had received by Rob. Almost immediately the first ring broke apart. Quickly Rose edited the powers out and 4 rings got destroyed. Maybe he should go lower in power? So he decided to go for Anna from frozen. At first nothing happened, but then a ring shattered. Sighing he edited her out and now knew that he couldn't just give himself the powers of others by using the Way rob had done.
Trying it a different way, he gave himself the ability to bend fire and lightning. Looking at the Rings left nothing happened. Thinking about it, he understood a bit, when he wished for Thier powers he got them at the stage they trained it too and multiple things were bundled into one. It might also be that the Way Rob gave him the Powers needed something only a higher being had. After all the rings shouldn't break because of Anna, since she was a normal person.
Giving himself the power gave it to him in it's starting form. So he would still need to train it depending how complex that power is. So he removed the bending ability and decided to give him something everyone at least wished once they had, Magic! So he looked around first in his editing program if he had something like magic talent. [Magic Talent-T for Troll] seeing it he was angry, but looking under it he was shocked [X-Gene still dormant].
Wait he had an X gene? What? Why didn't he look for it sooner? Anyway editing the magic talent and X Gene into awakened state instead the dormant one. [Outstanding Magical Talent, you are one point away from being a genius.] After seeing it Rose smiled, before pain assaulted him and everything turned dark. His last two rings shattering.
The Author frowned and looked at his plaything forcefully awaken his X-Gene the gift he had hidden for him. Though it was activated way to early, he also even upgraded his magic talent while doing so. His plaything about to die, he interfered stopping time completely and pulling the consciousness of his plaything into one of his many inner worlds.
Rose looked around and saw himself sitting on a couch, before him he saw a giant glass of iced red tea. "What happened?" Rose was confused at this situation. The Tea suddenly bubbled and a humanoid form came out of the giant tea glass. "You got yourself almost killed there. Lucky for you, you are my plaything and I won't let you simply die like that." The Author spoke. "Who are you, you aren't the Rob who send me to Marvel!" Rose shouted as he became guarded.
"I have many names, the Thirsty one, The Crazy Tea addict or what many call me The Author!" The figure spoke. "Author? wait am i i-" Rose wanted to ask, but the Author shushed him. "No, i am simply called the Author since i like to play with people fate, changing it and build a story to entertain myself with it. You are one of the many, who's fate i am playing with." Rose felt shocked and scared at such a revelation. "You were the one that changed the World? You were the ones that changed how certain characters behave right?" Rose asked, sure that this was the case.
"You find things like these out rather fast, but struggle to understand more simple things, like how you caused your possible death by increasing your magical talent and then awaken the X-Gene forcefully, that i had given you as a gift, meant to activate way later on." The Author talked down on Rose. "But why would it kill me?" Rose asked confused.
The Author just sighed and explained. "Your previous magic talent allowed you to only absorb a tiny bit of dimensional energy, maybe enough to create a small flame. While the thing you upgraded it too, could store and absorb such a huge amount of energy that would allow you to burn down the entire USA. Not to mention that you forcefully awakened the X-Gene with it, that also needs certain amount of energy to form. Your idiot decision starved your body of Energy and it tried to get it from anywhere it could, recklessly absorbing energy from dimensions, even energy's that would harm you. Naturally you would die!"
Rose then just looked at the Author "No one told me it was dangerous, i thought it would be like my cooking talent!" Rose defended himself. The Author facepalms and just said, "Why would you think magic talent and some shitty cooking talent are the same! Naturally there should be a difference! Anyway i fixed the situation
by filling up your body with energy and destroying all harmful energy you had absorbed in your body. This will be the only and last time I will help you."
Rose just looked relieved "Thanks, but what was the X-Gene you gave me?" He asked curious. "Your X-Gene would give you two powers, First is Bond of Fate, it allows you to see your fated person or people, teleport to Thier side and feel if they really are in any danger. The Bond of Fate was my gift and should have awaken once you meet your fated partners. As for the Other? It's something you had inside you family wise. The Power could be best described as Vampire, as it gives you vampire like abilities, without the weaknesses of a actual vampire. It seems to have been formed since you have Vampiric Ancestry. Probably because of your Wish to look like Aya."
Rose was just looking at the Author, he was happy for the Bond of Fate power, since that would lessen his worry for Bobby. As for the Vampire one "You know that entire Vlad the Impaler as grandpa thing that i had said was a joke right? Why would even my X-Gene give me such powers?" Rose said and looked at the Author, thinking he had something to do with it. "Your wishes or more the things you asked for, influence your life and background in the world. You had asked for Aya's looks and this might have given you a vampire ancestry to make it happen. Though the Vampiric genes were so weak that the X-Gene absorbed them and made it your mutant power. This is at least a Theory of mine." The Author shared and then his figure fell apart.
"I have saved your ass and it's time for you to go back, i am already getting bored just sitting here explaining things to you! Bye!" The Author said in a bored voice and just send Rose back to his Body. Rose woke up lying on the floor, feeling weird as he felt different energy's swirling around, though they seemed weak. Standing up he noticed that his body became more in shape, he had actually gotten a bit shubby since he didn't exercise, but now that extra fat was gone. Walking into the Bathroom he saw that he now had visible fangs a vampire would have as he smiled. Luckily enough nothing else seemed to have changed.
The most important test now was for Rose to take out a container of ice cream and eating a spoonful. Eating it he felt no disgust towards it and was happy. The biggest fear would be to not be able to eat normal food and only be able to drink blood. Taking the Tub with him, he sat on the bed and tried to use his Bond of Fate, he felt two strong connections, following the first he saw Bobby who was teaching History and following the other he saw Thor!? Well Thor sparring with his friends in Asgard. No wonder Rose couldn't stop spying on Thor when he took a shower! That explains everything!
But what made him even more happy, was that he could feel a connection between Thor and Bobby. Meaning that they were all connected to one another and not just simply both to him. So it was a higher chance for Bobby to accept Thor into our relationship. Though he wondered how the relationship would work, since Thor was the Prince of Asgard and later it's Ruler. As he would most likely stay in Asgard and didn't come down to Midgard that often.
He just Hoped that the Bond of Fate teleportation would work between realms and that he could Bobby with him. Rose decided to wait meeting Thor till he landed on Midgard as he didn't know how the Asgardians would react, if the teleportation worked and he suddenly appeared before Thor.
